Team Stamp It Easter Blog Hop

Feb2016Banner

Welcome to the Team Stamp It Easter Themed Blog Hop!  I hope you are enjoying all the creations we have made for you!

Today, I am featuring a card using the Circle of Spring stamp set found in the Annual catalog.  There is a matching set of framelits that make it easy to die cut the wreath and the bow.

SU! Circle of Spring, Crazy For You

The wreath is stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and then colored using Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder markers.  To make it pop a little more, Wink of Stella Clear was used on the flowers.  Here is a close up:

SU! Circle of Spring, Crazy for You

The background from the wreath is a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Color Me Irresistable Specialty pack.  The sentiment is from Crazy About You and matching framelits.

We are once again doing a give away!  Just leave a comment below with the hashtag: #stampitcontest to be entered into the drawing!

Apple of My Eye

Hi – still playing with the Apple of My Eye set.  This is a fun set and I love how easy it is to line up the stamps to complete the image.  The beauty of photopolymer stamps.  I made this card for our Demo Swap at my upline’s Team Meeting last night.

SU! Apple of My Eye

Not sure how easy it is to see, but sparkle was added to the apple using the Clean Wink of Stella brush.  LOVE THIS PRODUCT! So easy to use and a great way to quickly add sparkle to anything.  Have you tried it yet?

Added interest with the Designer Series Paper instead  of just using a full layer.  I like the diagonal white strip.  The DSP is cut just 1″ smaller than my Whisper White panel in the vertical direction and then cut in half on the diagonal.   What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you will drop by on Saturday as I am participating in an Easter Theme Blog Hop with my fellow Team Stamp It demonstrators.

You’re Sweet

SU! Apple of My Eye, Subtle DSP Stack

Hi!  How are you today?  Just wanted to take a minute to say You’re Just the Sweetest!  Thanks for the comments, likes, and repins and Thanks to those that Follow Me!!

Today’s card features the Apple of My Eye stamp set in the Occasions catalog.  The citrus fruit was stamped in Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi.  The Designer Paper comes from the Subtles Designer Paper stack.  A quick card that can be used to say Thanks for any reason!

Hope you get a few minutes today to be creative – whether it be paper crafting or something else – everyone deserves a little creative time!

Have a good one!

What Do You Do…

When you bring an outline stamp and full ink pads – but no blender pens or markers with which to color the image?

That was my dilemma when I sat down to stamp with the Flowering Fields stamp set (you can choose this set FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase (US) prior to S/H and tax) and realized that full color ink pads weren’t going to work to color in the pretty flowers since I forgot to bring a blender pen or an aqua painter to use with the ink pads.  And, since I also didn’t bring along the coordinating markers, what was one to do?

Here is my solution: Acrylic Block Stamping!  Yes, this worked out just well – I could use the acrylic block to create a color background for my flowers!  What do you think?

SU! Flowering Fields, Suite Sayings

For this first card, I used Blackberry Bliss – I stamped the block on scrap paper a few times to lighten the background so that the flower would show.  While it is hard to see, the two corner panels are Blackberry Bliss while the flower image is matted on Basic Black.  The sentiment is my favorite from the Suite Sayings stamp set found in the Occasions Catalog.

SU! Flowering Fields, Suite Sayings

The second card uses Calypso Coral as my background color.  For this one, I made a bigger front panel and added a little of the Thick Baker’s Twine in Calypso Coral to match.  The sentiment is also from the Suite Sayings stamp set.

SU! Flowering Fields, Suite Sayings

The third card in the series uses Hello Honey for my background.  Went with a full panel for the front on this one.   The ribbon I had wanted to use didn’t really work – it would have worked better if I had used Very Vanilla instead of Whisper White (but I didn’t bring that color with me).

Lastly, we have this card using Lost Lagoon:

SU! Flowering Fields, Wildflower Fields DSP

I liked this pattern from the coordinating Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (FREE as a Sale-A-Bration item with a $50 (US) purchase prior to S/H and tax) so decided to go with that to finish off my card.  So, what do you think, an alternative to coloring outline images when you forget to bring something with which to color.  Think you’ll give it a try?

I had fun coming up with ways to stamp with the limited supplies I brought with me – but will be happy to be back in my own crafting space with all my toys, I mean, tools, to use.

Hope you found some inspiration from today’s post and a way to keep stamping when what you had originally planned doesn’t quite work out!

Watercolor Wishes Cards

Hi!  Back today with some of the cards I made using the Watercolor Wishes kit.  I did make all 20 cards (changed a few of the sentiments, but stuck to the layouts provided in the directions) and also 2 extra cards.  I won’t show you all the cards the kit makes, just a few, but will show you the 2 extra cards I made.  I still have some pieces left, so will make a few more.

First up, two of the cards following the directions in the kit:

SU! Watercolor WishesI like the clean look of this “hello” card.  The stripes are already on the base layer, so it is just a matter of stamping “hello” and adding the die cut flowers that are included.  I believe this also calls for sequins, but as I didn’t have any glue dots or mono-multi with me, I couldn’t add them.

SU! Watercolor Wishes

Next up is this “Celebrate” card.  This is a smaller card size, so not likely able to go through the mail, but easily tucked or attached to a gift.  Very simple and non-gender specific.  One of the reasons why I love this kit – the cards can be used for anyone depending on what you add to them.

Ok, so on to the two extra cards I made.  For this card, I cut the base layer in half and mounted it onto a Whisper White card stock base.

SU! Watercolor Wishes

I hand-cut the blue border around my sentiment from the empty die cut labels that were provided.  Then just hand cut a small piece of Whisper White to fit behind the border and there is my sentiment panel.  The flower and leaves were extras in the kit.

For my final card, I once again cut the original base in half and mounted it on Whisper White card stock.

SU! Watercolor Wishes

Do you recall the band I showed in yesterday’s post that was around the envelopes?  Well, I cut a piece of it to use on this card as a banner under my sentiment.  Once again, the border for the sentiment is cut from the excess around the original die cut and a piece of Whisper White attached behind it.  The flowers are again extra pieces that weren’t used for the original cards.

So, what do you think?  Do you like my extra cards?  All I added was some Whisper White card stock.  I would highly recommend Mono Multi as your adhesive with this kit (it is the only item you need to purchase separately from the kit) as that would allow you to attach the wooden elements, sequins and flowers without having to use another adhesive.  The kit does contain a sheet of dimensionals – which work great for adding depth for the sentiment panels.  If you are heading on vacation or a business trip and are looking for a little crafting get-away while you are gone – this kit is perfect! It contains everything but the Mono Multi adhesive.

Watercolor Wishes

Hi!  Have you seen the Watercolor Wishes Kit in the Annual Catalog?  I had ordered it a while ago, but hadn’t gotten a chance to play with it until now.  WOW!!  Look at all the goodies that come in the kit!  I am in LOVE!!  Supplies to make 20 cards – all I need to provide is some adhesive!  And – each card is UNIQUE!!  Unlike the Tin of Cards Kit where you have supplies to make 4 each of the same design, this one contains 20 different cards.

WatercolorWishesKit_small

And the best part is – I believe I can make more than 20 cards if I cut the bases in half where the front and back of the card contain the same pattern – and add a few sheets of Whisper White.  Also, I included the striped band that was around the card bases and envelopes, because I think I can cut it to use on one of my added cards.

Time to get busy – I’ll post some of my creations tomorrow!

If you’ve gotten this kit and used it differently than what is shown, please let me know what you did!  I’m always up for new ideas and thinking outside the box!

And, did you see 3 new products were added to Sale-A-Bration choices to replace the 3 that retired on Feb 15?  Love these new products – can’t wait to get my hands on them!!  You can earn these FREE with every $50 purchase! (prior to S/H and tax, in the US!) Check with your local demonstrator if you live outside the USA.

Balloons

Hi!  Had a little time to play with the #GDP022 sketch this week.    Decided to try out my Balloon Celebration bundle in preparation for March’s class featuring the bundle.  Here is my take on the sketch:

SU! Balloon Celebrations, Its My Party

Yes, I am still in birthday card making mode.  I thought since I joined the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement, I better make sure to have a pretty big stash of birthday cards on hand.  I truly do love the balloons in this set – the two step stamping allows for such a textured look to the balloons.  I have plans to emboss the second stamp – ie, the little dots – once I get another opportunity to play in the stamp room.  A very quick card when you are in a hurry – but still oh so cute!  The paper is from the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper stack.

Supplies:

A Little Grunge

Continuing on with the birthday theme – here is a card we made at the Birthday Bash using Gorgeous Grunge.  Perfect for boys – especially teens, I think.  You could switch up the colors and make it into a girl card if need be.  Maybe switch to polka dots as well.  Just thinking as I type to give you other ideas.  Who knows, I could be way off base.  (Now I may have to go play and see if I can make it into what popped into my head for a girl.)   If you try it out, let me know what you think!

TeenGrunge_small

The sentiment is created using the Crazy for You bundle – a very versatile bundle if you haven’t checked it out yet.  A little Design Series Paper from the Brights Designer Paper stack, some texture using the Arrows embossing folder and banners made using the Triple Banner Punch and the Bitty Banner punch completes the card.

Hope you find a little inspiration in today’s creation when next you stamp.

Just a quick reminder, the following Sale-A-Bration products will NO LONGER be available after Feb 15th.  If you haven’t gotten your FREE products yet, don’t wait!!  I am going to miss The Sky is the Limit and the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper.

Birthday Cake

Hi!  How are you today?  Been a busy few days here, we got an unexpected snow storm on Friday which dropped about 10″ of snow.  Thankfully it stopped and we were able to clear out so that Friday night’s Birthday Bash could party on!  Here is one of the cards we made using the Party Pop-Up Thinlets.  Such a fun set of dies!

SU! Party With Cake, Party Pop-Up, Confetti

For the front, we die cut the cake, trimmed off the pieces so the cake would stand on its own.  Sponged Mint Macaron, So Saffron and Watermelon Wonder inks to make our cake.  I like how it popped on the black Confetti embossed background.

For the inside, we used It’s My Party Designer Series paper for our message:

SU! Party Pop-Up, Party with Cake

The dies are so easy to use – and you can either use them as pop-up’s like the inside of the card, or cut off the excess like the front!  Who wouldn’t love getting a card like this?

Heading out soon with my daughter to work a couple of cookie booths – it is Girl Scout Cookies season for us and then to pick up some goodies to munch on during the Super Bowl.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by!

It’s A High Flying….

Birthday Wish!  Getting ready for Friday night’s Birthday Bash – one of my most popular events – as guests make 15 birthday cards that they can use through out the year.  The background is once again stamped with the Watercolor Wash background stamp. Seriously, if you do not yet own this stamp, put it on your wish list!  It makes such easy backgrounds!

Stampin' Up! Sky is the Limit, Watercolor Wash

I am also very fond of the Sky is The Limit Sale-A-Bration set.  Will be sad to see it go on Feb 15 – yes, that is right – you only have until Feb 15 to earn this set for FREE!!  What are you waiting for?  It is an awesome set that can be used for birthday cards, Valentine/Anniversary, graduation, etc.  And it can be your’s FREE when you place a $50 merchandise order (prior to S/H and tax for those in the US!)

Ok, back to the card – this is the masculine card we are making tomorrow night – very quick (other than hand-cutting the plane – which isn’t that hard).  The plane, sentiment and smoke trail are all stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.  The sky is Soft Sky and the grass is Pear Pizzazz.  The plane, as mentioned, is hand cut and popped up with dimensionals.

I am in need of quite a few birthday cards – since I just joined the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement.  Social media has made it so easy for us to wish someone a happy birthday by posting to their wall, etc., that the sending of actual cards to wish someone a happy birthday has declined.  So, if you would like to receive a birthday card from me, please comment below and I’ll be in touch to get your birth date and address.
