Hi! And welcome to my new blog location! Glad you found me! Excuse the appearance, I am still trying to figure my way around a self-hosted site and don’t quite have everything up yet.
But, I didn’t want to leave you without any crafty goodness while I worked on making my blog pretty, so here you go.
I decided to mix the old with the new for today’s cards. I love this huge rose from the Rose Wonder stamp set. I decided to pull out my old Pearl-Ex (we don’t carry it in the Stampin’ Up! catalog anymore – but I know many of you probably still have some and haven’t played with it in a while). I decided to use the Painted Pearls technique – filling my aquapainter with Future Floor Wax, dipping it into my pearl-ex and then painting my rose and leaves. The pearl-ex gives a nice shine and really pops on the Basic Black card stock. Here is a close up of the flower:
I also decided to die-cut the rose from black card stock to lay over the top – here is that version:
I know the white embossing pops more on the black card stock, but I really like how the black die cut looks as well.
I’d love to hear what you think!
Thanks for stopping by!
Teresa
