Swallowtail Sunset

Hi!  As you might have guessed, I am featuring some of my favorite retiring stamp sets and tools. The Swallowtail was the first stamp on my list when it debuted.  You might have guessed that I love butterflies – and this one is just absolutely stunning and can stand on its own.

SU! Swallowtail, Brayer

I had taken a class with Michelle Zindorf a few years ago to learn how to use the brayer – and it quickly became one of my favorite tools.  I am sad to see it go.  The butterfly was first embossed with black embossing powder (also retiring – and sold out) then sponged with various shades of ink.  A mask was made with a circle punch and placed in the upper right hand corner.  Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze were then brayered over the upper right corner to create a sunset.  The mask was removed and the same colors were lightly sponged for the sun. Click on any product item below to shop for your favorites before they are gone!

I also have a sneak peek of the May Paper Pumpkin kit – you don’t want to miss out on this fun creativity in a box.  If you are not currently a subscriber, sign up by May 10th to receive your Many Manly Occasions box – cards for the special guys in your life.

SU! Serene Silhouettes

Mother’s Day Hop

April16Banner

Welcome to the Team Stamp It! Mother’s Day Blog Hop!!  Today, I am featuring the Butterfly Basics stamp set for my Mother’s Day card.  I just love this set – so pretty – hard to not get a gorgeous card when using this set.

SU! Butterfly Basics, Suite Sayings, Timeless Textures

I decided to use markers to color my images for this card – instead of coloring in the flowers completely.  The leaves were colored with Always Artichoke and the flowers with Rose Red.   The butterfly is stamped in Crushed Curry.  The background images are stamped in Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings set.  I thought it very appropriate for Mother’s Day.  To give a little dimension, I popped up the butterfly.  What do you think?  Hopefully my mom likes it!

Don’t forget – leave a comment with the #stampitcontest hashtag to be entered into a drawing! (As well as your full name and email so we can contact you if you win!)  I love this month’s prize!!

Bluebirds

Hi!  Welcome to Wednesday!  Today I am playing along with the Global Design Project challenge #GDP031 – Nature Theme card.

SU! Hardwood, World of Dreams, Greetings Thinlets

I went with the World of Dreams  stamp set – just love those images and they are perfect for this challenge.  Spring is slowly making an appearance – well, she made one then left for a bit when Mother Nature decided to drop snow on us again last week.  But, as I type this, I hear the birds chirping and the sun shining.  We have had a nest a few times in a tree by our porch and it is fun to watch the little ones hatch and grow.  I am hoping we get some again this year.   Anyway, I colored my image with my markers – colors are Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Island Indigo and Old Olive.  I used the Lots of Labels thinlets to cut it out.  The background is the Hardwood stamp inked in Crumb Cake and stamped on a Crumb Cake layer.   The sentiment is die cut using the Greetings thinlets.  I actually cut two and glued them together to give a little dimension to it.  A button and linen thread finish it off.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

Rainbow Hearts

Hi & welcome!  I am Teresa Howe from Northboro, MA in the USA and I am playing along in Kylie Bertucci’s International Stampin’ Up! Blog Highlight!  The theme is Love.  I don’t live close to my family and thought this card lets them know I think of them often.

SU! Suite Sayings, Hearts Mask

I hadn’t had a chance to play with my heart mask too much, and thought this the perfect reason to break it out and play.  I tried a variety of colors – all pink, all red, a mix of both pink and red, and then decided to go bright and make a rainbow of hearts.  What do you think?

The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings set in the Occasions catalog and just perfect to let those near and dear to you how they make you feel. And while it doesn’t show too well in this picture, the Pacific Point Stitched satin ribbon is so shiny – I LOVE it!!

If you like my card, I hope you’ll vote for it on Kylie’s page here.  At the least, I hope you will hop over to Kylie’s and check out all the other great projects all made with Stampin’ Up! products and filled with tons of inspiration for you!

Birthday Butterfly

Hi!  I am playing along with the #GDP030 sketch challenge today.  It is always nice to get a little inspiration when you feel your mojo slipping.  Love the clean look of this sketch.

SU! Grateful Bunch, Papillon Potpourri

For this card, I used the border in the Grateful Bunch stamp set and the Butterfly from Papillon Potpourri. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder set. I decided to use the 2015-17 In Colors – Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder.  I love these two colors together. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder set.

Hope you like today’s CAS card (clean and simple) and decide to try out this week’s sketch.

Butterflies

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by today.  Today, I am playing along with the #GDP029 color challenge.  Here are the colors for today’s challenge:

GDP029 Colour

I admit, I struggled a little bit trying to come up with a stamp set to use for this challenge.   I settled on Papillon Potpourri – a favorite of mine and the little butterfly.

SU! Papillon Potpourri, Endless Thanks

I stamped my butterflies in Early Espresso then colored them with Tangelo Twist and Bermuda Bay.  A little hard to see in this picture, but they are popped up on dimensionals.  The background is the debossed side of Elegant Dots (yes, I really do like that look).  Here is a close up:

SU! Papillon Potpourri, Endless Thanks

You can see the debossing much better and get a feel for the popped up butterflies.  The sentiment is from Endless Thanks – another great set as I just love the font.

I do wish to thank everyone who placed  an order, held a workshop, or joined my Stampin’ Up! team during Sale-A-Bration!  I appreciate the support!
