Christmas Bear

Hi!  How are you today?  One more Christmas in July card for you – this time playing along with #GDP046 Sketch challenge.  I chose to use the Baby Bear stamp set – he is just too cute! And pair him up with the Snow Place set for his hat and scarf.

SU! Baby Bear, Snow Place, Oh What Fun

I found it easier to start with the most detailed bear stamp using Chocolate Chip, then the next less detailed in a stamp-off once Chocolate Chip, and then the entire bear stamp inked in Crumb Cake.  I did try stamping it in the reverse order first, but found it easier to line up the other way.  So, what do you think?

Non-Traditional Snowflakes

Hi!  Deciding to shake things up a little bit today with a Christmas card – for those that celebrate Christmas in July!  I pulled out the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and the new Copper Embossing powder and here’s what I came up with:

SU! Flurry of Wishes

The background is sponged with Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz inks before the snowflakes are stamped with VersaMark.  Emboss the snowflakes with Copper Embossing Powder, and there you have it.  I really like how it turned out.  What about you?  Like it or hate it?  Would you send this out to friends as your Christmas card?  (I do think it needs some ribbon tucked behind the sentiment- but, alas, I didn’t have anything current that would work).

Thanks for stopping by – and just maybe, I cooled you off on a hot summer day.

Amazing Butterfly

Hi!  Today we have a little butterfly stopping by with a birthday wish.  Hopefully, the recipients have received their cards.  I was inspired by the #GDP044 challenge last week to CASE the designer.  I love butterflies, and used that as my “COPY”.  I had a few birthdays coming up, so here they all are:

SU! Watercolor Wash, Watercolor Wings, Mixed Borders

Here is a closer view of the card:

SU! Watercolor Wash, Watercolor Wings, Mixed Borders

The butterfly trail and sentiment are from the new Mixed Borders set – I thought the little curve of dots would work well – and I just kept changing the direction of the dots to make my trail.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card!  Thanks for stopping by!

You Are Loved

Hi!  Today I am participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlight!  The theme this month is “From Me to You when you are Feeling Blu”.  You can vote for my card by first clicking on this link: Kylie’s Blog Highilght then click on the heart in the upper right hand corner of my card.  I’d love your vote if you feel it is worthy!

SU! Gifts Of Love, Grateful Bunches, Gorgeous Grunge

The flowers are from the new hostess set Gift of Love – they are so pretty and easy to stamp!  The sentiment is from the Grateful Bunches set. I also added a little interest by stamping the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge over the flower.  I made this for a friend who is going through a difficult time to let her know she is loved.

Going Vertical

Hi!  How are you today?  I had some time to stamp last night so pulled out the new Vertical Greetings set to play with.  I made two cards using the potted tree.  This was my first card:

SU! Vertical Greetings

I really liked my color choices and how the tree turned out.  I had used the “thumping” technique for the leaves.  Have you tried it yet?  No?  Well, here is what you do – color your image with a marker – I used Pear Pizzazz as my base color, then take a second marker and tap the brush tip end randomly over the base color.  I used Always Artichoke as my “thumped” color.  Very easy to do – and a great look for trees and leaves!  While I liked how this card turned out, I was completely happy with it, so I played with the same supplies and came up with this card:

SU! Vertical Greetings

I like this one much better.  While it doesn’t show in this picture, I did cut off 1 1/4″ of the front panel.  The polka-dotted Designer Paper is actually attached to the inside of the card.  The strip with Thank You stamped on it is attached to the front panel.

So, what card do you prefer?  Leave a comment and I’ll be happy to send you your favorite! (You’ll need to email me your address, too!)

TBT Liberty For All

Hi!  I decided to do a Throw Back Thursday with a twist.  This card wasn’t made back in the day – but it is using 2 retired stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!  I was playing around for a design for my son’s Thank You cards for his Eagle Court Of Honor and here is what I designed using the Liberty For All and Wonderful Words.

SU! Liberty For All, Wonderful Words

What do you think?  The card stock colors and markers are all current – Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (tho it is hard to see the sparkle of the stars in this picture).  I really like how this turned out – now to see if it passes approval.

One last note for you today, Bonus Days are here!!  From now until July 31, for every $50 US you spend in one order (prior to S/H and tax) you will earn a coupon from Stampin’ Up! for $5 to spend on an order August 2-31st.  How cool is that?  Just shop on-line here:  Teresa’s On-line Store

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sunset Bird

Hi!  Welcome back!  Today I am playing along with this week’s Global Design Project Sketch Challenge – #GDP042  – using the new Best Birds bundle.

SU! Best Birds, SU! Layering Circles Framelits

I sponged the sunset by creating a circle mask the same size as my card front – makes it easy to line up and achieve the look I wanted.  The circle template is made using the largest circle in the Layering Circles framelits.  The bird and branch were first inked using markers directly on the stamp – and then shaded in using a blender pen and ink pads.  I like that I was able to get the details from the outline but still add muted color using the blender pen.

Hope you like it!
