A Little Nugget

Cake for you!  I had seen the Nugget Cake tutorial on Splitcoaststampers recently and thought this would be perfect for Halloween!  I have a few friends who love this holiday and thought this would be the perfect treat.

SU! Halloween Scenes Thinlets, Halloween Night DSP The hardest part was finding round containers to use to support the cake – but I did – and they were all from Stampin’ Up! products!  For the top layer, I used the lid of an empty Embossing Powder container, the middle layer uses an empty button container and the bottom layer uses two empty ribbon rolls.  Great way to recycle those empty containers!

The Designer Series Paper used to wrap around the nuggets is from the Halloween Nights Specialty paper – great way to use up scraps as each nugget is wrapped in a 1″ x 3″ piece of DSP.  All the embellishments were die cut with the Halloween Scenes Framelits.  I used a retired brad and the retired Circle Framelits for the cake topper as well as the separate layers.

So happy I gave this tutorial a try – what fun to make and I think the recipient will be very happy!

Mini Coffee Bag

Hi!  Today I have another little treat holder that would be perfect for a few chocolates or as little grateful bags  for friends and family.  Thanks to Sam Hammond Donald – a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in the UK for the great video.

Here is my version of Sam’s bag:

SU! Petals & Paisley DSP, Endless Thanks

Aren’t these adorable?  The final bag measures about 3 1/2″ tall and 1 3/4″ wide.  The flap is held down with the ribbon – which can easily slide off the top so that it doesn’t have to be retied.  I used the Paisley & Posies Specialty Paper for these.  The sentiment is from Endless Thanks.  In case you couldn’t tell from some recent projects, I love the leaf from the Paisleys & Posies Framelits.

Ok – need to run – my girls  are performing in the Sleeping Beauty Ballet this afternoon and I don’t want to miss it!

Team Stamp It Thanksgiving Blog Hop

oct2016banner

Hi!  Welcome to the Team Stamp It! Thanksgiving Blog Hop!  Did you ever have a card in your head and actually have it come out the way you pictured it – or even better than you pictured it?  Well, that rarely happens to me – usually what I envision doesn’t translate from my brain to the final product – but in this case it did and I was ecstatic!  I love how this turned out!

SU! Vintage Leaves, Acorny Thank You

I sponged Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry ink diagonally across my Whisper White panel.  I then randomly stamped the small leaves in Elegant Eggplant ink.  Finally, I stamped the oak and maple leaves in Versamark and embossed with Copper Embossing powder.  I mounted this panel on Elegant Eggplant, tied Burlap ribbon around it.  Next, I die cut a Copper Foil and Elegant Eggplant leaf using the Paisley thinlets.  I stamped my sentiment in Elegant Eggplant, punched with the Classic Label punch, sponged the same three colors on the tag and then tied the two leaves and  sentiment around the burlap ribbon using Linen Thread.   It is shinier in real life than I captured in the picture.

I was having fun with my sponging, so made this card as well:

SU! Vintage Leaves, Petals & Paisleys

For this card, I sponged Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry inks and stamped the leaves in Elegant Eggplant.  The sentiment is inked in Cajun Craze as well and the Banner Triple punch was used to create the flag ends.  A little Thick Black Baker’s Twine to finish it off.  I need to make a few more of either card (or maybe both) to send out to family and friends next month to let them know how Grateful I am to have them in my life.

I hope today’s creations inspire you!

The Backside of a Fruit Stand

Hi! How are you today?  It is a little rainy here at the moment, so I went and created some sunshine in the craft room.  Have you noticed the patterns on the back side of the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper?  They are just as yummy as all the fruit on the front side!  Today’s cards will all feature the backside of the Fruit Stand!

First up, this sunny card:

SU! Sunshine Sayings, All Year Long, Fruit Stand DSP

I think this card would be perfect for someone who is going through a rough patch – just to let them know that better days are coming.  The sentiment is from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set while the sun is from the All Year Long Project Life Accessory pack.

Next up, this nutty birthday card:

SU! Sunshine Sayings, All Year Long, Fruit Stand DSP

Once again, the leaf is from the All Year Long accessory pack while the sentiment is from Sunshine Sayings.  The acorn is punched out with the Acorn Builder punch – the cap in Soft Suede and the nut in Crumb Cake.  Crumb Cake ink was used to ink up the edges of the acorn, sentiment, and the Pumpkin Pie layers.

The third card is this beauty that is decked out with a layered flower.

SU! Sunshine Sayings, Fruit Stand DSP

I love how well the three punches coordinate to make one gorgeous flower.  Not sure how well the sparkle came through, but the bottom layer of the flower was punched out of our Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper.  Thick Whisper White Baker’s Twine and a Basic Rhinestone gem complete the card.

Lastly, is this little cuty:

SU! Sunshine Sayings, All Year Long, Fruit Stand DSP

I have a friend who says this to his daughter all the time.  I thought of them while making this card and hope to give it to him to send to her the next time we get together.

I just didn’t want you to miss these awesome patterns in case the Fruit Side didn’t do it for you.  And best of all, this Designer Series Paper pack is part of the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Special going on through October 31st!!  If you have been inspired by these cards, then hop on over to my store by clicking on the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper icon below and order today!

A Little Bag

Hi!  Thanks so much for the great response to yesterday’s post on my cards – the comments made my heart smile!  I am so happy I have inspired you!

Today, I have a little bag to show you – I think these would be cute sitting on your Thanksgiving table for your family and friends with a little note tucked inside telling them why you are thankful they are in your life.

SU! Gift Bag Punch Board, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Thoughtful Banners

These are made using the Gift Bag punch board.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Petals and Paisley Designer Specialty pack.  Start with a piece that is 10″ x 4″ (this allows you to make 3 from 1 sheet of paper!).  Use the Small setting on the board to make your bags.  I do have a hint in regards to punching the holes if you are a first timer (like I was) for threading the ribbon – line up the score lines used to make the front and back panels of the bag with the indicator on the reverse punch – not the center side panel score line!  I couldn’t find that in the directions so thought I’d mention it here.

The sentiment on the bags is from the Thoughtful Banners set and punched with the coordinating Banner punch.

Here is a close-up of two of the bags:

SU! Gift Bag Punch Board, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Thoughtful Banners

I used the Mint Macaron Sheer Ribbon on this one to tie my bag closed.  Don’t worry – the banner is popped up with dimensionals and the ribbon tucked behind so the receiver can still untie the bow to peek at the gift inside.

SU! Gift Bag Punch Board, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Thoughtful Banners

For this one, I used the Delightful Dijon ribbon from the Ribbon Trio pack in the Holiday Catalog.

I hope you enjoyed today’s little bags and please let me know if you decide to try your hand at making them!

A Little Double Time

international-project-highlights-eventHi!  Today I am taking part in an International Project Highlight featuring Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world!  I am excited to be a part of this!

SU! Thoughts & Prayers, Vertical Greetings

I used the tree from Thoughts & Prayers for my Double Time stamping image.  The tree was colored with Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red markers then stamped.  For Double Time stamping:

  • Layer two white panels on top of each other (no mat between them) and stamp your image.  The smallest panel needs to be smaller than your image so that some of the image stamps onto the second piece of cardstock.
  • Attach the top panel to a colored piece of coordinating cardstock that is 1/16″ bigger in both directions.
  • Attach the second panel to a coordinating piece of card stock that is 1/8″ bigger in both directions.

Pretty simple!   I love how this turned out.

Here is a look at the first card I did using this tree:

SU! Thoughts & Prayers, Vertical Greetings

As you can see – my top panel is bigger and I didn’t get as much of the image on the second panel as I would have liked – so I made the panel smaller for the first card.

If you haven’t checked out Vertical Greetings yet, do so soon!  This is such a great set when you don’t have a ton of room for your sentiment.  I finished off the card with a little linen thread.

We have all created this gallery of projects for you to be inspired by! We would love it if you could visit every one of our blogs and see a close up of our projects. You can see the gallery below and this will be on every blog that you click on so you will never be lost.

Not Just For Haunting

Hi!  How are you today?  It’s a bit wet here this morning, but will be another warm day – so I’ll take it!  Today I have a card using stamps from the Jar of Haunts set – but don’t be scared – there is no haunting here!

SU! Jar of Haunts, Lovely as a Tree

I used the pumpkin and stem images from the set to make this cute fall card.  These were colored using a blender pen – my attempt at shading I think came out pretty well.  The leaves at the bottom are from the Lovely as a Tree set.  The layout from the card is this week’s Global Design Project challenge – #GDP058  To add interest to the card, I used my paper piercer to create a design in opposite corners.  I also tied linen thread around my main panel and added the leaf from the Paisley framelits.   The Designer Series Paper is once again from the Petals & Paisley Designer Series Paper pack.

What are you crafting these days?

I also wanted to congratulate Mary Blocher – our winner from the Team Stamp It! September Blog hop!

Sometimes You Feel

Like a Nut!  Hi!  Today I am bringing you a card using the A-Corny Thank You set.  This debuted in last year’s Holiday catalog and can now be found in the Annual Catalog.  I hadn’t used it since last year and thought it was time to pull it out and put it to use so it didn’t fell quite so lonely.

SU! Acorny Thank You

I decided to use the 2015-2017 In Colors as I think Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaron work so well for fall.  The Designer Series Paper strip is from the Petals and Paisley Designer Series Specialty pack.  This is one of the Specialty papers – Vanilla with Gold Foil polka dots.  Adds just a bit of shine to the card (not that i captured that in the picture.  I also added  a touch of the burlap ribbon – now that I have started playing with it – it adds such a nice touch to fall projects.

Thinking this might be October’s Thank You cards for those that have placed  orders with me.  What do you think? Would YOU like to get one of these cards in the mail?

Just a reminder that during the month of October, you get a FREE pack of Designer Series Paper with the purchase of 3.  Purchase any 3 packs of paper pictured below and get a 4th pack FREE!

Fall Basket

Hi! Today I am back with a fall card using the Basket of Wishes stamp set in the Holiday Catalog.   This set is so versatile and can be used all year long.

SU! Basket of Wishes

The basket is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Crumb Cake card stock.  The pumpkins, gourds, and leaves are colored with markers.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Petals & Paisleys Designer Specialty Paper pack.  The image is layered on Cajun Craze card stock while the Designer Paper is layered on Mint Macaron.  To add interest, I used the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to pierce around the panels.  The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on Crumb Cake scrap and die cut using the Bunch of Banners framelits.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project!
