Christmas Wreath

Hi!  Today I have another card that would be easy to mass produce for sending out.  It features the Wonderous Wreath stamp set and coordinating framelits.

SU! Wonderous Wreath

The base is our thick Whisper White card stock.  The wreath is stamped first in Pear Pizzazz, then in Garden Green for the darker leaves and finally Cherry Cobbler for the berries.  The bow is stamped with Cherry Cobbler on a scrap and then die cut.  For the tearing on the side, first stamp the wreath close to the fold line – this then gives you an idea of where to tear the Whisper White layer.  For the Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green, cut a 1 1/2″ strip and rip down the center.  This gives you materials for 2 cards.  I placed adhesive on the back of the Whisper White so I’d know where to adhere the Cherry Cobbler and then on the Cherry Cobbler for the Garden Green.  While this view doesn’t show it – you can see a bit of white from the inside panel of the card past the Garden Green edge. See upper right corner in picture below)   I also used my favorite Clear Wink of Stella for the berries.  Here is a closer look at those:

SU! Flurry of Wishes

Couldn’t leave you without a card today, could I?  This one uses the Flurry of Wishes stamp set (part of the bundle on sale today only!) for a quick and easy Christmas card.  I created a mask using the Layering Squares Framelits and then sponged Soft Sky ink on my Whisper White layer.  I then stamped the sentiment and snowflakes using Night of Navy ink.  Last, I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen to sparkle my snowflakes.  Here’s a closer look:

Love that pen and highly recommend it if you don’t have one!

Hedgie Love

international-project-highlights-event

Hi! Today I am playing along in the International Project Highlights and our theme is Love.  I happen to adore these cuties from the Love You Lots Hostess set:

SU! Love You Lots, Made with Love

This is perfect for any time of year and for anyone you want to remind that you love them.  As Thanksgiving approaches here in the US in a few days, it is a good time to remind someone that you love them.

For my card, I stamped the Hedgehogs in Chocolate Chip Ink then colored the flower with Garden Green and Real Red markers.  I decided to add the little Real Red Enamel heart embellishment as I felt it very fitting.  This panel is matted on Real Red.  Behind that is a skewed piece of Chocolate Chip Designer Series Paper.   Do you see the word “love” in the upper right and lower left?  Too much?  The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip as well and I decided to add the little heart from the Made With Love stamp to finish it off.

I hope you will check out all these other great projects from Demonstrators around the world!

Tarnished Trees

nov2016header

Hi!  Today I am playing along with the Team Stamp It Christmas Blog Hop!  I saw this technique by Jackie Bultje and just loved it – so had to give it a try.  It is called Tarnished Foil.

SU! Tin of Tags, Woodland TIEF

Love, love, love it!!  Is this not just gorgeous? Here is how you do it:

  1. Wrap a piece of foil around a piece of card stock.
  2. Wipe Jet Black Sta-Z-On ink over the foil randomly
  3. Wipe VersaMark over the inside front of the Woodland Embossing folder.
  4. Place your foil sheet in the folder with the foil facing front.
  5. Run through the Big Shot
  6. Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder over the foil.
  7. Tap off excess powder and put back in container.
  8. Over a scrap sheet of paper, use a clean paint brush and brush off the embossing powder that is on just the trees.  Discard the scrap into trash (you do not want to save this embossing powder as it is mixed with versamark and thus clumpy.)
  9. Heat set the embossing powder with the heat gun.
  10. If you do not have enough Sta-Z-On showing on your trees – apply more using a sponge dauber.
  11. Finish card as desired.

The sentiment is from the Tin of Tags set – a great set to have – even if not making tags – and embossed in Gold on Basic Black card stock.  Layering Circle framelits were used to die cut the sentiment.  A piece of Real Red woven satin ribbon finishes it off.  You could mass produce this card in batches of 5 (I wouldn’t do more than 5 at a time for the Versamark steps just to make sure the Gold Embossing Powder doesn’t flake off).

I’d love to know what you think!  Leave a comment below using #stampitcontest and you could win this great prize!

Holly Box

Hi!  How are you today?  I have been working on some packaging for Christmas gifts and made this box.

SU! Oh What Fun, Holly Berry Happiness

This box is about 4x4x2 in size when finished and would hold note cards, tea lights, chocolates, tags, a pair of socks, jewelry and all sorts of items.

Here are the directions for the box:

Base: 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 Card Stock

  1. Score at 2 1/16″ on all 4 sides
  2. Snip the score lines on two opposite sides to create tabs
  3. Fold on all score lines using Bone Folder.
  4. Use Tear & Tape on the tabs and assemble the base.

Lid: 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 Designer Series Paper

  1. Score at 1″ on all 4 sides
  2. Snip the score lines on two opposite sides to create tabs.
  3. Fold on all score lines using Bone Folder.
  4. Use Tear & Tape on the tabs and assemble the lid

Belly band: 3/4″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper

  1. Wrap belly band around the box so the two ends are on the top
  2. Place Tear & Tape on the ends that are facing up
  3. Adhere a 3″ Scallop Circle over the two ends
  4. Decorate as desired

I decorated my Belly Band with a sentiment from the Oh What Fun stamp set and the Holly Berry Happiness bundle.  These are pretty quick and easy – I hope you’ll give it a try.

Stitched Snowman

Hi!  My Stitched Shapes Framelits finally arrived and I couldn’t wait to play!

SU! Christmas Magic, Stitched Shapes

Is this not just the cutest?  I love the added dimension from the Stitched Oval framelit.  Also, these ovals DO coordinate with the Layered Ovals thinlets as shown in the picture.  Isn’t this little snowman from the Christmas Magic stamp set adorable?  He is stamped with Jet Black Sta-Z-On ink and colored with markers.  While I forgot to capture a closer picture of him, I did use Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen to color his body and the ground and add some sparkle.   To complete my card, I embossed the background white panel with the Softly Falling Embossing folder.  As you can see – still on my Stamps, Paper, and Ink kick.

Stamps, Paper, Ink

Hi!  How are you?  Sorry for not posting too frequently recently – life has gotten busy and I have not yet adjusted to the new routine.  I’ll get there!

With all the extras available today in card making and paper crafting, I decided to take a little break and get back to the basics.  Today’s card is strictly Stamps, Paper and Ink.  No embellishments, no Big Shot, no punches.  Sometimes its nice to get back to the basics.  I hope you like my card.

SU! Garden In Bloom, Tin of Tags

I love this stamp set – Garden in Bloom – for its whimsical look.  Being a photopolymer stamp set, it is easy to align the images in this 2-3 step stamp set.  The little flourish in the corners is from the Tin of Cards stamp set – I just colored a small bit of the stamp for the corners.  The bee’s flight path was done by hand.  The colors are Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush from the 2015-2017 In Color collection.  This just might be my card for orders this month – as each customer is helping me reach my dream.

Just wanted to give you a heads up on 2 Stampin’ Up! announcements:

First, the Stitched Framelits (an upcoming product that will be available in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog) and that are available for purchase Nov 1-30 – are going on back order soon as sales have exceeded expectation.  If you haven’t ordered your set yet – I highly recommend you do so ASAP!  Available in my on-line store!

Here are the Stitched Framelits and stamp sets that are currently 25%:

Second, Stampin’ Up!’s On Line Extravaganza sale starts on November 21st! Can’t wait to see what awesome deals they have in store – including 24 hour deals on the 21st!

Golden Snowflakes

Hi! How are you today?  I hope all is going well for you!

Today I have one of the boxes we made at last Saturday’s Boxes, Bags, and Tags class.  This elegant hexagon box:

SU! Flurry of Wishes

Thanks to Lynn Ellis of Stamp With Peg for her photo tutorial.

I used the Flurry of Wishes stamp set – and embossed the snowflake with Gold Embossing Powder.  The lid was made using the specialty sheet from the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper pack.

Here is a picture of the top of the box:

SU! Flurry of Wishes

Stamp a snowflake in Crumb Cake ink, then stamp the sentiment in Basic Black Archival ink.

A few tips on assembly:

  1. Make the bottom part of the box first
  2. Once you have attached the side tab for the top, put the lid on the bottom of the box to form the top – easier to get the shape you need and to make sure the lid fits.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.  These are perfect for holding an ornament or some treats for your holiday gift giving.

Don’t forget, today, November 10, is the last day to sign-up for Paper Pumpkin to receive this special edition box!

Vintage Fall

Hi! How are you today?  I bit chilly this morning running my youngest to school but it should warm up as the day goes on.  Fall is my favorite time of year – I love seeing all the color and the smell in the air on a crisp fall day just can’t be beat.   I made this card for a swap I was in using the Z-Joy Fold combination.

SU! Vintage Leaves, Lovely as a Tree

It combines two of my favorite sets – Vintage Leaves and Lovely as a Tree.  I needed to make 8 of these cards, so I also incorporated the One Sheet Wonder technique.  For that technique, I took an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped all over it with the different leaves from the two sets in 3 different colors.   After you have finished stamping, cut it up.  In my case, I cut the sheet into 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 rectangles – which yielded exactly what I needed.  What I love about this – no two cards are exactly alike!

For the Z-Joy Fold, here is what you do:

Base – 4 1/4 x 11″ – score along the 11″ side at 5 1/2 and 8 1/4. Fold up on the 5 1/2″ score and  down on the 8 1/4″ score line.

For the Joy Panel – 3″ x 8″ – score at 4″

Attach the back of the Joy Panel to the back of the Z panel so the opening overlaps the “Mountain” fold at 8 1/4″

Add an element to tuck the front of the Joy Panel (in my case it is the leaf on the lower left) behind to help the card keep its shape.

Pretty easy to do and oh so cute!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card!

CASE’ing on the Fly

Hi!  Today, I have a card for you that I CASE’d (Copy and Selectively Edit -or- Copy and Share Everything) from Stampin’ on the Fly – Jennifer Timko.   You can see her card here.

Here is my take on her card:

SU! Merry Tags, Holly Berry Happiness

I love the simplicity of this card and think it makes it elegant.  And – it is super quick and easy to make – so making multiples will be a snap!  The ornaments are die cut using the Merry Tags framelits and the sentiment is from Holly Berry Happiness and is embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  The ornament is popped up on dimensionals to give the card some depth.

What do you think?  Too plain or just right?
