One More For the Guys

Hi!  Since I had out the colors and card stock from the previous card, I decided to make another card for the guys.

Masculine, Birthday, Feather Together, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I just love how this turned out!  The feathers are from the Feather Together set (as is the sentiment).  They are stamped in Basic Black, Basic Gray and Bermuda Bay.  I used the Black bakers twine behind the feather panel.  The sentiment is also stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.  Not a lot of fuss and pretty quick to stamp and put together if you are looking for a relative quick and easy card.

One Tip – Clean the feather stamp thoroughly between colors…. ask me how I know…lol.

Geometrical Birthday

Hi!  I am working on some masculine birthday cards and came across this layout from Kristin Kortonick and thought I’d give it a try.

Masculine, Birthday, Feather Together, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I tried it in 3 different color schemes – here’s a closer look at each one.

Masculine, Birthday, CAS, Feather Together, Stampin' Up, SU!

For this one, I went with Bermuda Bay, Basic Black and Basic Gray.  The sentiment is from Feather Together.

On this one, I went with Basic Black, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.

Masculine, Birthday, Feather Together, CAS, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this last one, I used Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and Smoky Slate.

I am pretty happy with how they came out – a little different and a great way to use up scraps!  The squares range from 1/4″, 1/2″ 3/4″ and 1″.

Relatively simple card – which is sometimes needed when you are in a rush.

Which color combo do you like?

Falling Flowers

Hi!  Today I have a card I CASE’d (Copy and Selectively Edit) from Jen Timko.  Here is Jen’s card.  I truly loved this card – so decided to make my own.

Hello, Falling Flowers, Thoughtful Banners, Stampin' Up, SU!

I love how mine turned out!  The subtle colors on the dark wood background – just seems so warm to me!

My card base is Thick Whisper White with a sheet from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack covering the front.

The flowers are from the Falling Flowers set.  The leaves are from Painted Harvest set and the sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners.   The flowers are stamped in Soft Sky and So Saffron on coordinating card stock then die cut with the coordinating May Flowers dies.  The leaves are stamped in Always Artichoke on coordinating card stock and punched with the leaf punch.  The circles use both the Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles framelits.   The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and I used the Triple Banner punch to flag the end of it.  The ribbon is Soft Sky classic weave ribbon.  A few Enamel shapes finish off the card.

What do you think?  I am going to make a few more of these and send them out – hopefully they will brighten someone’s day!

Don’t forget, the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE Designer Series Paper sale ends next week on October 31st!  The Wood Textures paper used above is part of this awesome deal!  Just click the special on the right to place your order in my on-line store.

Fun with Markers

Hi!  How are you?  Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you!

Stylized Birthday, Balloon Celebrations, Happy Birthday, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I am doing a Stamps, Paper, Ink class on Friday and this is one of the cards I am offering.  The balloons are from the Balloon Celebration set and are stamped in Dapper Denim and Old Olive.  The outline of the balloons are full strength ink while the “dots”, I stamped on scrap before stamping on the cardstock.  Both balloons have been punched with the coordinating Duo Balloon punch.   For my sentiment – I didn’t just want all one color and didn’t like the look of one word in one color and the other in the opposite.  Inspiration struck – I took my Dapper Denim and Old Olive markers and colored the words in diagonal strokes.  I didn’t worry about how “thick” each stripe was and even if they lined up between the words.  I love how it turned  out!  I used a few of the Glimmer Dots to finish off the card.  I hope the attendees on Friday like it!

Don’t forget, October 10 is the last day to take advantage of Stampin’ Up!’s World Card Making special!  15% off select stamps and note card/envelope packs!  Not to mention, Fast Fuse adhesive for $10 with 2 FREE refills!  A $15 savings!  You’ll find all the details by clicking on the WCMD special on the right!

A FALL Eclipse

Hi!  We have moved into Fall here in New England and the temperatures are definitely more seasonal.  This is  a card we did at a September workshop – such a fun technique and a great way to celebrate fall.

If you haven’t tried the Eclipse technique, I did give some directions in this post.

My colors for this card:  Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip and Early Espresso for the flowers.  The leaves  are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.  The copper ribbon was the perfect accent for this card.

Since there aren’t two “L”‘s in the Large Letter Framelit set, I used an “E” to get my spacing then removed it before running through the Big Shot with FAL.   I then moved the L and ran through again to get the last “L” in the word.

It’s a new month and a New Year in the Stampin’ Up! world, so we are kicking it off with not 1 but 2 awesome sales!!

First, get ready for World Card Making Day with these special offers!

Second, Designer Series Paper Special!!

Such great deals!!  Don’t miss out!!  Use Hostess Code 6HMNXWKG when ordering before October 10, I’ll send you a FREE Embellishment of my choosing!

Thanks for stopping by!
