Comfort & Healing

Hi!  How are you today?  I hope you are doing well!  Today I have a card for you using the Butterfly Basics stamp set in the Annual Catalog.  I haven’t used the set in a while so that it could use some love.

Get Well, Comfort, Healing, Butterfly Basics, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I made this card for someone who recently went through some surgery to let them know I was  thinking of them and wishing them well.

I created a mask using the Layering Ovals framelits and a piece of the thick cardboard that is in the back of every 12×12 Designer Series Pack.  I tend to cut the cardboard to the same size as the panel so it is easy to use.  I sponged Daffodil Delight in the center and then Crushed Curry around the edge of the oval before removing the mask.  I love the depth this added to the card.  The flower is stamped with Memento Black ink and colored using the Stampin’ Blends.  I love how these markers color – such a rich and beautiful look.

The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases.  If you are lookingfor a set with a gorgeous font, I highly recommend this one.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Black ink as well.  The main panel is layers on a Rich Razzleberry mat before being attached to a Thick Whisper White base.

Pretty simple card – and sometimes you need that.

Don’t forget, we are still celebrating Stampin’ Up!’s favorite time of the year with Sale-A-Bration!  I’ve already had one hostess take advantage of getting the starter kit for very little money by applying her hostess benefits toward the cost of the kit.  I believe she paid around $30 for almost $200 worth of Stampin’ Up! goodness!!  Guess what!  YOU can do the same!! Contact me for the details!

Or – you can shop my on-line store and for every $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) pick out a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!  All orders over $50 placed by Jan 31 also get this tutorial when you use this hostess code  7HSFZ3GP :

A Little Toucan…

Of Appreciation!   Do you like play on words?  I do!  So this set is right up my alley!

Birds, Puns, Bird Banter, Stampin' Up!, SU!, 2018OccasionsCatalog

I miss the “For the Birds” set so was very excited when I saw Bird Banter in the Occasions catalog.  I finally  had a chance to play with it and came up with this card to thank those who place orders with me this month.   For this card, I used the toucan image and colored him with the Stampin’ Blends.  I love these markers and feel they are well worth the investment.   The patterned paper is from the Picture Perfect Party DSP stack and is mounted on a Lemon Lime Twist mat.  The base is Bermuda Bay.  I added a strip of Basic Black cardstock layered with the Calypso Coral Ombre ribbon behind my image.  The image is die cut with the Layering Circles framelits.  This is layered on a Bermude Bay stitched circle.   The sentimenet is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink in the lower right corner.  I hope my customers enjoy this one!

It’s not too late for you to receive one of these cards!  Simply place an order through my on-line store by January 31st and you’ll receive one as well!  Sale-A-Bration is in full swing now and every $50 purchase (US, prior to S/H and tax) earns you a FREE Sale-A-Bration product from the brochure.

A Little Beach Time

Hi!  Did you have fun checking out all the great projects in Saturday’s Valentine hop?  I hope so!  But if you missed it, here’s my project.

Today, I have a beach scene I did at a workshop over the weekend using the Waterfront stamp set.  They loved it! (And so did I!)

Waterfront, Watercolor, Beach, Stampin' Up!, SU! Occasions2018

I do find I get a better look if I stamp one color, watercolor with the Aqua Painter before moving on to the next.  For this card, we started with the mountains – stamped off once in Chocolate Chip, watercolor, then stamp the smaller mountain in Cajun Craze and watercolor.  The sand is Sahara Sand (used the big mountain upside down) and just moved it over as I went down the side of my card.  The water uses the same stamp as the sand, just reversed and stamped in Marina Mist ink.  The mountain, sand and water were all watercolored.  The trees, sun and birds were not.  The sun is stamped in Crushed Curry.  The trees in Chocolate Chip and Garden Green.  The birds are from the High Tide stamp set and stamped in Chocolate Chip as well.

This truly is a fun set to play with.  I created a Mountain and Lake scene and showed how to do the watercoloring on my Tuesday’s with Teresa Facebook Live video January 16th.  You will find it on this page.

If you love painting – but don’t always have time to do it – this is a great alternative and an awesome set to use for it!   You’ll find it in my on-line store here.

Lots of Love – Stamp It Blog Hop

Hi!  Welcome to the Team Stamp It Valentine’s Day Blog Hop!  Today is all about the love!  My project features the Painted with Love Suite.

Painted With Love, Valentines, Hearts, Stampin' Up!, SU!, StampItBlogHop

I am so happy with how my box and card turned out!  The box uses the Lots to Love Box Framelits!  So cool to get multiple projects from one die set!  The Designer paper for both projects is from the Painted with Love Specialty Paper – I love the gold foil touch to this paper!   My colors for both projects are Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Gold Foil.

For the card, I added a Basic Black mat behind the Designer Paper- I felt it helped make the card pop.  I used both the Layering Squares and Stitched Shapes Framelits to create the frame behind the heart.  While it is a little hard to see, there is gold thread behind the frame.  I wound the thread loosely around my spread fingers a few times then twisted it to make an 8 and taped it to the center of the card.  The frame is popped up with mini dimensionals.  I embossed the heart with one of the Petal Pair TIEFs.  The sentiment for the card is stamped in Melon Mambo ink.  I added two metallic enamel hearts to match the box.

Now, for the box!  The box itself is made using the Lots to Love Box Framelits.

Die cut 4 of the sides, remove the side tabs from 2 of them and then score 2″ from the bottom (the flat end) for each piece.

Next, remove the two little top tabs and the bottom tabs below your 2″ scoreline on the two pieces that still have tabs.

Place Tear & Tape on the back side of the remaining tabs:

Adhere tabs to side pieces and attach together:

Fold in the middle to attach the last tab to form the box.  Use Tear & Tape seal the bottom flaps.

For the sides, use Designer Series Paper mats that are 2 3/4 x 2 3/4″ square.

For the top, I used the 3rd largest Oval Framelit from the Layering Ovals bundle and cut in half to cover two of the top flaps.  You will also need a 2 3/4 x 1/2″ strip to cover the space between the flap score lines.

Fold in the top flaps like this:

Decorate as desired!

Butterfly Brusho

Hi!  Today I am excited to be playing along with Kylie’s International Blog Highlights this month!  If you like my project, I’d appreciate your vote!  You can vote by heading over to Kylie’s highlight page here and clicking on the heart in the upper right of my picture.

Our focus is our favorite product from the Occasions or Sale-A-Bration catalog!  This was hard – there are so many awesome products in these two catalogs!  But, after getting a chance to play with the new Brusho’s – I found it!

Butterflies, Birthdays, Brushos,, Beautiful Day, Stampin' Up!, SU! Occasions2018Is this not just gorgeous?!?  I was so happy with how these turned out – and as you can see, even tho I used the same Brusho colors and the same technique, my butterflies are not exact!  Love it!!!

If you are not familiar with Brushos, they are little watercolor crystals that you sprinkle on your project and “paint”.  There are many different ways to use these – for my card and Junior Legal Pad cover, I followed these steps:

  1. Emboss the Butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set with Gold Embossing powder on Watercolor paper.
  2. Use an aqua painter to add water inside the embossing – you want a little pool of water
  3. Sprinkle Gamboge Brusho Crystals and Brilliant Red Brusho Crystals over the water.
  4. Use the aqua painter to mix the Brusho and water.  If you have too much water, you can use a paper towel to remove some of it.
  5. I then picked up the image and slowly rotated it around while the water and color absorbed into the paper – this separated the colors a little more on the birthday card.
  6. Let dry completely and adhere to project.

Here are the directions for the Junior Legal Pad cover:

  1. Cut a 12″ x 12″ piece of cardstock 8″ x 11 1/2″.
  2. Score at 5″, 5 1/2″ and 6″ along the 11 1/2″ edge.
  3. Cut between the score lines at 2″ and 2 1/2″.
  4. Apply Tear & Tape between the 5 1/2″ and 6″ score lines above and below the cut lines.
Here is a picture of what your cardstock should look like:

LegalPadCover

Decorate as desired.  I used Tear & Tape to adhere the Jr Legal Pad to the inside.

I’d love to know what you think and I’d appreciate your vote! Don’t forget to head over to Kylie’s blog to see all the other wonderful creations!

Hedgie Hugs

Hi!  How are you today?  In need of a hug?  Well, I have just the card for you!

Hedgehogs, Hugs, Love, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Occasions2018

Aren’t these little guys adorable?  This is the new stamp set Hedgehugs in the Occasions Catalog.  How cute would this be for a Valentine’s card or to wish someone a Happy Birthday?

The base of my card is Crumb Cake and the little flowers were stamped with Crumb Cake ink.  The Hedgehogs were stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White card stock.  I used the Early Espresso watercolor pencil to add some shading on his body and then blended it with a Blender Pen.  The little flower he’s holding was colored with a Real Red Marker.  The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede as well.  The flower is colored with Real Red and Old Olive markers and stamped next to the sentiment.  It was punched out with the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch and layered on a 1 3/4″ Soft Suede Circle.  I added a thin strip of Burlap Ribbon to finish him off.

What do you think?  Could you use a hug?  If so, email me your address at: teresa.howe@verizon.net and I’ll send you a hedgie hug!

A Little Panda Party

Hi!  Happy New Year!  I hope the end of 2017 was good to you and that 2018 grants you health and happiness!   The end of the year was a bit busy for me, sorry I haven’t posted in a few weeks.

Stampin’ Up! kicks off 2018 with a new Occasions Catalog (we had to say goodbye to the Holiday Catalog) and to our Favorite Time of Year – Sale-A-Bration!   You’ll find links to both catalogs in the sidebar to the right.
