Fun With Paper Pumpkin

Hi!  Today I have an alternative project for the July 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit!  Thanks to Nancy for the idea that you’ll find here.

I love how these turned out!

The kit makes 3×3 note cards – which are very cute – but I don’t typically use that size, so I took my supplies and am making Post-It Note holders that would be sure to brighten anyone’s desk!

Here are the directions:

  • Base:  Cut a piece of cardstock 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and score at 2″, 4″ and 4 1/2″
  • Easel Front: Piece of Whisper White cardstock 3 1/2″ x 4″
  • Plaid backgrounds – Cut the tissue paper from the kit 3 1/2″ x 4″ – need 2
  • Cut the 3×3 note cards in half (need 1 per holder)

Fold on all score lines for the base.  Use one of the plaid pieces and attach to the inside (where there are no folds).  Attach the second plaid piece to the 3 1/2″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock.   Attach this piece to the bottom only of the front of the base (the 3 1/2″ x 2″ fold section)  It is easiest to apply your adhesive to the front flap of the base so that you do not go above the score line.

Here is a side view of the holder so you can see how the easel looks and how the plaid panel is attached  at just the bottom:

Use Tear and Tape and to adhere the 3″ x 3″ sticky pad to the inside of the base.

Stamp the border from the Paper Pumpkin stamp set in Soft Suede ink around all 4 sides of the Crumb Cake piece.  Adhere one of the Vellum plaid pieces to the top.  Adhere the fruit and leaf die-cuts.  Wrap ribbon around the panel.  Stamp a sentiment in Soft Suede ink to one of the Whisper White labels in the kit.  Attach with dimensionals.   Attach this entire panel to the plaid front piece using dimensionals.
