Summer Shadow Pocket

Hi!  How are you?  I was playing around with some Sale-A-Bration products – which are sadly going away at the end of the month and came up with this pocket card to share with you.

Birthday, Pocket Card, Summer Shadows, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021SaleABration

Pocket cards are fun to make and relatively quick, too.  The base for this card is Basic Black and measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  I chose to use just one piece of the Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper (FREE with a $50 purchase until Sept 30 or while supplies last).  The back piece measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the front piece measures 4″ x 4 3/4″ – score at 1″ on the 4 3/4″ side and fold down.

Place Tear & Tape on the other 3 sides (not the edge with the score) and adhere to the 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP.

A piece of Fresh Freesia ribbon – darkened with the Highland Heather Dark Stampin’ Blend is wrapped around the flap and attached on the back.  A smaller piece is then used to create the knot on the front.

The flowers are die cut using the Summer Shadow Dies (Sale-A-Bration item with a $100 purchase) from Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape card stock.  The leaves are die cut from Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green.  The sentiment is stamped in Gorgeous Grape and die cut with the Rectangle Stitched dies.

The insert is a piece of Basic White measuring 3 1/4 x 4 1/2″.

If you haven’t tried a pocket card, give it a shot – I think you’ll find them fun to make.

As I mentioned above, we are winding down Sale-A-Bration – less than 2 weeks to go.  So, head on over to my store, and once you spend $50 (prior to S/H and tax), you’ll get to add a FREE Sale-A-Bration product to your order.   UPDATED:  The Be Dazzled and Summer Shadow Dies have SOLD OUT!

More Fun With Scraps

Hi!  Back today with another great way to use up Designer Series Paper scraps!

Expressions In Ink, Scraps, Hello, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog, #usehtosescraps

I wish I had been able to get a better picture – this card is stunning in real life.  The gold accents in the Designer Series Paper just pop with the Gold die cut.

The scraps measure 3/4″ x 3″ – so a 3″ x 3″ scrap is what you would need.  The scraps are staggered on the card front and attached with dimensionals.

The base is Pale Papaya measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.  The Basic White measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ and is embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

This Designer Series Paper is the Expressions in Ink Specialty Paper -and truly can stand on its own.  For this card, I paired it with a die from the Birds & More die set and Gold Foil.

The sentiment is stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and is from the Forever Fern stamp set.

A few Metallic Pearls finish off the card.  If you have not yet checked out the Expressions In Ink Designer Specialty Paper in the Annual Catalog, I highly recommend it!

There are just 2 weeks left of Sale-A-Bration!  So don’t delay in getting those orders in.  The Be Dazzling 6″ x 6″ paper has sold out and is no longer available.

Hello and Happy Monday

Hi!  How was your weekend?  Did you do anything fun?  We had a gorgeous weekend weather wise and so I got out for a walk on both Saturday and Sunday as well as did some yard work.  I also opened the windows and aired out the house – so nice to get fresh air into the house.  Today I am sharing a card where the Designer Series Paper is the star.

Hello, Friendship, Pansy Petals DSP, Sunny Sentiments, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog

For this card, I used 3 different patterns from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.  The BumbleBee Designer Paper measures 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The striped piece on the flap on the left measures 3/4″ x 5″.  The Soft Succulent mat behind the striped paper measures 1″ x 5 1/4″.  The flowered DSP measures 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″.  The Soft Succulent mat measure 4 3/4″ x 3 3/4″

The base of the card is Evening Evergreen and measures 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 1 1/4″ from the left hand edge so final card measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

On the inside, behind the flowered Designer Series Paper, is a piece of Basic White that measures 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2.

The sentiment is stamped in Soft Succulent ink on a scrap of Basic White and punched with the Everyday Label punch.  A scrap of Evening Evergreen is also punched with the same punch.  To get the layers look, cut the Evening Evergreen punched label in half and attach to the back of the sentiment.

Add a bit of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon and Genial Gems to finish the card.

We are down to  2 1/2 weeks for Sale-A-Bration – so remember that your $50 purchase earns you a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  There’s still time to host a catalog or on-line party if you want to gather some family and friends for a crafty evening.

Encircled in Black and White

Hi!  Thanks so much for the feedback on Monday’s card and for the votes.  I will know next week how I did – so there is still time to vote if you haven’t yet.

Today, I am sharing a card using the Encircled in Friendship stamp set with the gorgeous Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper that you can earn FREE with a $50 purchase (prior to S/H and tax) by Sept 30.

Friendship, Thinking of You, Stampin' Up!, SU! #2021AnnualCatalog, #2021SAB

The Beautifully Penned paper is all Black and White and gorgeous patterns.  You can add a touch of color to this paper in many ways:

For my card, I kept it as is and added a touch of color by using Water Color pencils on the flowers.  I love how this card turned out and used it for my September #makeacardsendacard.   If you aren’t familiar with this, once a month on my Facebook Page I ask folks who could use some happy mail to send me a private message with their address and I’d get one out to them.  I am still working on September’s card design – but if you could use a pick-me-up – let me know!  I’d be happy to add you to my list.

The sentiment is stamped in Jet Black StaZon – same as the flowers.  I used the Layering Circle dies to die cut the sentiment and the Basic Black mat.

The base is Thick Basic White – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.  The designer series paper measures 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Basic White is used for the coordinating stamped layer – I did die cut before stamping and used the die to align the stamp in my Stamparatus and then rotated the die cut 4 times to stamp the flower image.

The Matte Black Dots were the perfect touch to finish the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

If Friends Were Pumpkins

Hi!  Today I am excited to playing along in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights!   I haven’t participated in quite a while – so am thankful to have this opportunity to participate this month.

Our theme is Thank You.  I chose to use the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalog.

Fall, Friendship. Thanks, Pretty Pumpkins, Stampin' Up! SU!, #JulyDec2021Mini

Have you seen or tried the Stampin’ Blends and  Alcohol technique?  That is what I used to create my background for this card.  Scribble your Stampin’ Blends on a piece of Vellum Cardstock.  Then use a Water Painter filled with 91% or higher rubbing alcohol to drip, pounce or swirl through the ink to move and blend it.   You will need to let air dry completely – overnight would be best – before using.

For this card, I used the Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Blends.

Once it has dried, I stamped the leaves and sentiment from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set in Early Espresso ink.

The pumpkins are stamped in Cajun Craze ink on Cajun Craze card stock and die cut.  The leaves are die cut from Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Crushed Curry, and Cherry Cobbler card stock.

The vellum is mounted on a piece of Basic White card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The base of the card is Early Espresso and measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.

If you like my card, I’d appreciate your vote.  If I make the Top 10, I’ll be able to participate in a blog hop with the other winners later this month.  To vote, simply head over here and click on the heart in the upper corner for my card.

If you are ready to work on fall projects, consider purchasing the Pretty Pumpkins bundle.  Just click on the link in the Products list below to be taken to my store.

Don’t forget, we are in the final month of Sale-A-Bration – so a $50 purchase (US, prior to S/H and tax) earns you a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  This offer ends on Sept 30 – so don’t wait!

Shaking It Up

Hi!  Welcome to the last day of Penguin Place!  I hope you have enjoyed the projects this week.  I am ending the week with this adorable Shaker Card!

Penguin Place, Shaker Card, Thanks, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JulyDecMini2021

Have you ever made a Shaker Card before?  They are fun!  This ones uses the Cloche Dies and Cloche Shaker Domes in the July-December Mini.

The base of the card is Soft Succulent.  You will need two pieces of Basic White – the top layer shown in the picture and a smaller piece behind it as the base to attach the dome.   The smaller piece needs to be big enough to attach the dome.

  • Basic White – 5 1/4 x 4″ and 3 1/2″ x 4″
  • Designer Series Paper – 4 1/2″ x 4″

Use the rounded edge die from the set to cut the bottom of the Designer Series Paper.

Attach the Designer Series Paper to the 5 1/4″ x 4″ Basic White then run them through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss with the Cloche Dome die.

Stamp the Penguin in Jet Black StaZon on a scrap of Basic White.  Stamp his eyes in the same ink and his beak with Pumpkin Pie.  The scarf and hat are stamped in Soft Succulent and fussy cut with Paper Snips.  The tree is stamped in Pear Pizzazz and fussy cut.  His feet are punched from Pumpkin Pie card stock.

Stamp the smaller Basic White piece with the snowflake stamp in Fresh Freesia ink – especially the center will the dome will go.  Attach the penguin and tree to the smaller Basic White using dimensionals – if needed place the die cut Basic White layer on top so you can align the placement where the dome will go.  Sprinkle Subtle Shimmer sequins over the penguin and tree.  Use a static free sheet – dryer sheet or Swiffer cloth and run it over the inside of the Cloche Shaker Dome before attaching over the penguin and trees.

Attach the larger Basic White piece to the smaller one – aligning the dome in the opening.

Attach to the card base.

Run a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss with the wood grain die.  Attach below the dome.

Stamp sentiment in Versamark on scrap of Soft Succulent.  Emboss with White embossing powder.  Punch hole in one end and use Paper Snips to create flag end.

Use Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends to color a piece of Basic White bakers twine.  Tie on tag and place at top of dome with a glue dot.

This one is a little more work than the previous projects but such a fun card. I hope you will give it a try.

You will find all products in my On-Line store (except for the static cloth).  Just click on any product below to go to my store and shop.  The Designer Series Paper is part of Sale-A-Bration and only available until the end of the month.  Choose it FREE with a $50 purchase (prior to S/H and tax).

And His Friends

Hi!  Today we introduce you to Penguin’s friends! While the stamp set does not contain any friends, the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper that you can earn FREE with  a $50 US purchase (prior to S/H and tax) – make great additions to your projects like this one!

While you can use the punch to punch out the Penguin from the Designer Series Paper, you will need to use your Paper Snips to fussy cut the bear and fox.  But they are so cute together and pretty straightforward.   Side question – do you find fussy cutting relaxing?  I took a sheet of this paper and sat and fussy cut the critters pretty quickly while watching some TV.

The base for this card is the In Color Fresh Freesia that was introduced this year.  Stamp some snowflakes in Fresh Freesia ink on the base before attaching the playmates. A strip of the striped Designer Series Paper provides a nice contrast for our playmates to sit on.

The hat on the bear is stamped in Just Jade ink and fussy cut as well.   The sentiment is stamped using VersaMark ink on Misty Moonlight card stock.  Sprinkle on some White Embossing powder from the Basics Emboss Powder pack and heat set with the Heat tool.   Then die cut using the Messages Die (this is a great die – it gives you so many different looks and there are many different sentiments that will fit in the various labels).   Finish the card by adhering some subtle shimmer sequins.

While fussy cutting may be a little time consuming, it would still be easy enough to mass produce this card for the upcoming holiday.
