with a birthday wish. Hi! How are you today? Have you gotten any crafting time in yet this year? It has been fun stamping and just playing around with all the new goodies in the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. This card uses the Sky is the Limit Sale-A-Bration set – this set is only around until February 15th – so don’t miss out! You can get this set for FREE with a minimum $50 purchase (prior to S/H and tax). There are a few other products only available through Feb 15 as well.
As you can see, I am still working on birthday cards – as February is chock full of them for me – especially for the males in my family. You could easily change this into a Valentine’s card by using the sentiment “You send me Soaring” in place of the Happy Birthday – maybe color the heart red and there you go. I dressed up the card with a little of the new two toned Baker’s Twine found in the Occasions’s catalog.
New Weekly Deals were announced today! The sentiment set Something To Say is a great set to have on hand and at 25% off – a great deal, too! You save 25% on these products for the next week!
Thanks for stopping by!
Welcome back! I am having fun playing with the Sale-A-Bration set Honeycomb Happiness. I still haven’t used the honeycomb accessories that coordinate with this set – but I will. This is a CASE (with a slight change) of one of the cards in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I liked the layout. I used the blender pens to lighten up the ice cream – black raspberry is one of my favorite flavors. The sentiment is embossed in White Embossing Powder on black card stock.
Hope you enjoyed today’s little taste of sweetness. Now I am off to finish prepping for tonight’s Sale-A-Bration kick-off event! Looking forward to sharing the new products from the Occasions catalog and what you can earn for FREE during this most wonderful time of the year!
and an OOPs! I made this card to Join in another Color Challenge today – trying out the SSIC #53 challenge using Smoky Slate, Wisteria Wonder and Bermuda Bay. But just checked, and I was supposed to use Basic Gray – not Smoky Slate. Well, I still think this is a fun color combo and I have another card in mind as well – will see if I have the time later to try it out. And to come up with another card using the right colors for the challenge.
Yes, this is what popped into my head when I saw the color combo. The balloons are made using the Sale-A-Bration set Honeycomb Happiness and the Color Family Designer Paper stacks – I love the patterns in these packs – and it is great to get every color in the family because you never know what you might need. The elephant is from Zoo Babies – thought he’d look cute with some balloons tied to his tail. If his trunk had been up – I’d have attached them to that instead. The ribbon is from the new Occasions catalog – and like my earlier post this week, I’ve been having fun using buttons. The sentiment is from another Sale-A-Bration set – Perfect Pairings – love how you can combine sets if you want!
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are inspired to try out this color combo.

I do have a project to share with you today featuring yet another stamp set in the Occasions catalog. I also love this set – great for any occasion and especially great for making cards for the men in your life. Don’t get me wrong – it is not exclusively just for guys – but it does well for those cards. Here it is:
Aren’t those deer just adorable? I decided to play along with the color challenge this week at Global Design Projects – #GDP017 which is to use Garden Green, Rose Red and Crumb Cake. I was going for a Cherry Blossom look for my tree – not sure I achieved it – but I am pretty happy with how it turned out. What do you think? Even with that touch of pink, I think it still works for a male birthday card (good thing, as I have 6 of them in my family that celebrate in February!).
And lastly, the winner of the Blog Hop candy is Phylis Sinclair! Congratulations Phylis!! Enjoy your new Going Global stamp set and DSP stack!
Thanks for stopping today!
Welcome to 2016!! I am looking forward to the new year and all that it brings! Stampin’ Up! is kicking off 2016 with a new mini catalog – the Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration! Both of these start on January 5 – just two days away!
Today I have a few cards using the new Picture Perfect stamp set from the Occasions Catalog – I just love this set – it is my favorite by far! The hummingbird stamps just drew me in – as I love hummingbirds. Over the holiday, I was sent a video tutorial from the talented Lydia Fiedler, you can check out her blog here. I CASEd her hummingbird colors in the card on the left. I also tried a few of my own color combinations – and was happy with the So Saffron/Crushed Curry on the right.
I need to play around with more combinations – as hummingbirds are very colorful. I also need to restock my Thank You card pile and my birthday pile – as I will do better this year about sending cards – because who doesn’t love getting some happy mail?
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are inspired by today’s cards and are getting your wish list ready for Tuesday!
Hi! How are you today? Switching things up today with a little shine and glimmer for Valentine’s Day. The black glimmer paper in the Holiday Catalog will soon be gone – so I wanted to share a card that uses the paper for a beautiful background for my Red Foil heart. I just love this new die that is in the Occasions Catalog – it is so pretty! I added a few black glimmer flowers and while it may not show in the picture, this card really sparkles and shines. The hearts and sentiment are from the matching Bloomin’ Love stamp set. You can purchase the dies and stamp set as a bundle starting January 5!
So what do you think?

Hi! Along with the Nutcracker boxes I shared a few days back, we also made Angels for the Horn Angels. These angels hold 6 Hershey Kisses. Thank you to the talented Brenda Quintana for the pattern. You can find her Nativity scene here.
Aren’t these so pretty? Not sure you can tell in this picture, but the halo and wings are cut using the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper – adds a nice sparkly touch to the angel. We made over 20 angels – and I think they were a hit.
Off to finish my Christmas preparations – still a long to do list – but I have faith it will all get done.

Hi! Welcome to the Team Stamp It Group Blog Hop! I hope you are enjoying these early peeks at projects made with products from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalog!
My project today features the Rose Wonder stamp set. I was so happy to see this set because it is perfect for the Reinker Splash technique.
If you haven’t tried it yet, here is what you do:
- Ink your stamp in Versamark ink (or White Craft Ink) and stamp on Shimmery White card stock.
- Heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
- Place drops of ink from your reinker on the inside lid of your stamp pad.
- Spritz water over your image – enough to make it pool.
- Using an Aquapainter, pick up the ink and apply it to the pools of water. The ink will spread in the water. You can add more ink for a darker look.
- Let dry completely – maybe about 30 minutes.
For this card, I only used 2 colors of ink – Rose Red and Old Olive. Love the variegated look I achieved. I then hand cut the flower and to give it a puffy look, traced over the embossed lines with my stylus on my piercing mat, flipped the flower over to the back, then ran the stylus in between the lines. Here is a closer look at the flower:
I also didn’t have any Old Olive Ribbon that worked for my card, so I used a sponge dauber to add color to the White Organza ribbon.

If you have seen the Nutcracker, what is your favorite part? For the past four years, my girls have been dancing in Dance Prism’s The Nutcracker and I love the battle scene, snow and the Russian Dance. The girls are part of the touring cast, so we travel to 5 different towns in MA over 4 weekends to perform 11 shows between Thanksgiving and Christmas. At the end of the run, there is a party and the girls exchange little gifts with the other performers. I have made something to hold treats every year. This year, here is one of the treat holders that I am making:
I love how they are turning out! Each little guy holds 3 Lindt Truffles. The base is made using the Curvy Keepsake dies. The Nutcracker is stamped in Black Archival ink and colored with Blendabilities. Yes, I miss our blendabilities and hope that Stampin’ Up! can find a new supplier to provide us with alcohol markers. Hope you don’t mind me taking a trip down memory lane and using retired product for this project – but I thought he was too cute not to share! There are so many great ideas for dressing up the Curvy Keepsake box – that you won’t mind my little foray into past products.

Good morning! Are you in need of a quick and easy treat holder? Look no further than the Sour Cream holder! They are quick to make and look so cute holding your favorite treats. This one is made from a 6×6″ square and can hold 5 Lindt Truffles. There is a great tutorial on SplitcoastStampers: Sour Cream Container
Hope you take a few minutes and try this cute project! I am keeping some on hand for friends, teachers, and any one else who drops by!
