Summer Time Stamp It Blog Hop

Hi! Today I am playing along in the Team Stamp It Summer Blog Hop!

School ended on Thursday for my children and we celebrated by heading to the local ice cream shop.  That inspired my card for today – as this represents the start of summer for us.

I used the new Marbled background stamp, inked in Powder Pink for the background.  The ice cream swirl is also Powder Pink and the cone is Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso.  The sentiment and ice cream cone are from the Cool Treats stamp set.

I added a bit of Gold Thread behind my main panel and dimensionals on the ice cream cone.

Do you have a tradition that kicks off summer for you?

Fishy, Fishy

Hi! Today I am showcasing a card we will be making at this Friday Night’s Fun with Glossy Paper! class!  If you live in or near Northborough, MA, USA – I hope you will join me!  Check out my Events page for the details!

Stampin' Up! SU! Seaside Shore, Sunshine Sayings

Love how this background turned out and can’t wait to show my guests how it is done!  I also used the same technique on a piece of glossy scrap card stock and fussy cut the fish in the upper right.  He is popped up with a dimensional.  The colors in the background are Lemon-Lime Twist, Pool Party and Tempting Turquoise.   The sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide and is from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set.

Life’s Short

Hi! Playing with new product today!  It’s the Lemon Zest Bundle!  I am also playing along with Global Design Projects – CASE the designer – #GDP092

Stampin' Up! SU! Lemon Zest, Eclectic Layers

This is such a refreshing bundle to play with – and perfect for summer!  The lemons are stamped in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the coordinating punch.  The leaves are stamped in Old Olive.  The layer behind the lemons is die-cut using the Eclectic Layers framelits and from the new Lemon-Lime Twist card stock.  My sentiment is colored with a Basic Black marker (the actual stamp has the words on two separate lines – but I wanted it to read across to match the layout for the challenge).  The Designer Series Paper behind the Lemon panel is from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper stack.  This is then layered on Old Olive.  I used the Thick Whisper White for my base.

I didn’t take a picture of the inside (I need to remember to do that) but I did stamp the sentiment Squeeze it for all it’s worth in Basic Black.

You will find all the products used for this card in my on-line store!

There you have it – hope you enjoy the fresh look of today’s card!  If you decide to play along with this week’s GDP challenge – please let me know!

Flying Butterflies

Hi! I’d like to start by congratulating Sandra Schroeder for winning the blog candy offered on the Amazing Mother post!  Please email your address to  teresa.howe@verizon.net and I will get your prize out to you!

Today I have a card I demonstrated at a workshop over the weekend.  Thanks so much to Lyssa at Song of My Heart for the great directions  and inspiration!

Stampin' Up! SU! Watercolor Wings

The front of the card features the butterfly from Watercolor Wings. The color combination is Lemon-Lime Twist (one of the new 2017-18 In Colors and available in the Eastern Palace bundle during May), Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral.

When you open the card, the recipient gets a pretty surprise:

SU! Stampin' Up! Watercolor Wings, Bold ButterfliesThe butterflies pop-up!  The color combination for each butterfly is the same as on the front.  Just die cut them with the coordinating Bold Butterfly Thinlets.  I strongly recommend stamping the body of the butterfly AFTER you die cut them – so the heads aren’t cut off as they are in mine.

The butterflies are attached together with a glue dot place at the very tip of the top wings.  They will fold down together stacked on top of each other so the card can be mailed!  This was a big hit!  If you don’t already own the Watercolor Wings stamp set and the coordinating Bold Butterfly Thinlets, I highly recommend adding them to your collection!

I’d love to know what you think!

For Dad

Hi!  Today I am hopping along with the Team Stamp It! Father’s Day Blog Hop!  So excited to be able to hop along today – I hope you are enjoying everyone’s creations!

For my card, I decided to use the Large Letter Framelits – these are great to have on hand and can get you out of a bind when you feel you don’t have a set for the occasion on hand.

Stampin' Up! SU! Large Letters

Pretty simple card to  make.  The background is Copper Foil embossed with the hexagon textured embossing folder.  Little hard to see the shine in this picture – but it really does pop.

The letters are die cut from Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  The Basic Black letters are attached to slightly off the Very Vanillas as it adds dimension.  These are then attached to the copper foil sheet using dimensionals.

Here is another version for you:

Stampin' Up! SU! Large Letters, Eastern Palace

For this card, I used the Eastern Palace stamp set to create my background love how it looks.  The colors are Lemon-Lime Twist and Dapper Denim.  The letters are cut from the same two colors.  Just wanted to show you could stamp your background instead of embossing it.

I hope you enjoyed your stop on my blog.  Leave a comment using #stampitcontest to be entered into a drawing for this lovely prize:

I hope you will continue to hop on over to the next blog:
