Countryside Inn Birthday

Hi!  Today I am back with a card featuring the gorgeous Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper – also on sale this month!

Birthday, Countryside Inn, Basics EF, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2023AnnualCatalog

I paired the Designer Series Paper with the Circle Sayings stamp set.  I love the font on this set – so pretty!  The flowers are stamped in Boho Blue and the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock.  These are punched with the 2 1/4″ circle punch.  A Night of Navy circle is punched using the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch that is bundled with the stamp set.

The card base is Night of Navy, measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.  A piece of Basic White card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ is embossed with the Crosshatch Embossing Folder found in the Basics 3D Embossing Folder pack in the On-Line Exclusives.

A piece Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper measuring 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ is laid across the bottom of the Basic White layer so that placement of the circle can be determined.  Also lay a piece of Night of Navy Bordered ribbon to note if any adjustment to the circle needs to be made before adhering.  Once you have the locations of the pieces, adhere the circle first, then the Designer Series Paper and then the ribbon – attaching the ribbon to the back of the Basic White will help anchor it in place.   Finish the card by adhering the Basic White layer to the card base.

Given the dark color of the base, I recommend attaching a piece of Basic White measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ to the inside of the card for your message.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card – please leave a comment if you have any questions.

What A Little Tearing Can Do

Hi!  Welcome to June!  Sorry I’ve been MIA for the past few weeks – but hopefully things have settled down enough that I can get back to regular posting.

This month I am featuring Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog – especially since you can purchase select ones at 15% off!  How awesome is that?

We all have scraps and today’s card will help you deal with those with this quick and easy card.

Inked Boutique, DSP, Scraps, Wonderful Thoughts, InColor2023-25, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #dspscraps, #incolor2325

I used 1″ strips of the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper (on sale for 15% off this month) by 5 1/4″.  I started with 6 pieces, then due to how much I ripped or overlapped when I adhered to the base, I needed to add one more strip.  So, I’d say have 6-7 strips of DSP on hand to start.

As you can see, I ripped down the right hand side of each strip – before adhering to the Boho Blue card base.  There are 6 different DSP strips – the left most and right most papers are the same pattern.  You can choose to just pick 2 patterns or as many different patterns as you like.

The sentiment is from Wonderful Thoughts which has coordinating dies that cut around the word (not sure for this card) stamped in Boho Blue ink on Very Vanilla card stock.  The Double Oval punch is used for the sentiment and the Boho Blue layer behind it.   To finish the card, a piece of Boho Blue ribbon is placed behind the sentiment.

With all the fun papers we have, using up the scraps in this manner will help reduce your scrap pile, allow for quick, fun and pretty cards.  I hope you will give it a try!

What To Do With Scraps

Hi!  As promised, I am back today with my second card featuring the Biggest Wish stamp set.

If you are like me and save even 1/2″ scraps of our gorgeous Designer Series Paper, then I have a card for you!

Scraps, Deisgn Series Paper, Biggest Wish, Thanks, Stampin' Up!,, SU!, #22-23AnnualCatalog

I love the pop of bright colors from the Flowers & More Designer Series Paper (host item in the January-April Mini 2023).  To create the panel, cut a piece of Basic Black card stock, 4″ x 2 1/4″ and grab coordinating strips of DSP that are 1/2″ wide.  Adhere the strips at an angle on the Basic Black card stock leaving a small gap between each strip.  Use your Paper Trimmer to cut off the strips that overhang the Basic Black.

The base of this card is Polished Pink – one of our retiring In Colors, cut at 4 1/4″ x 11, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.   The Basic Black panel is adhered in the middle of the card.

Emboss two pieces of Basic White card stock measuring 1 3/4″ x 4″ with the Thanks folder from the Thanks & Hello pack.  I moved each piece to a different area to get different languages on each piece.  Attach these to the card front using dimensionals.

The FRIEND is stamped in Polished Pink and then thanks is stamped in Blackberry Bliss overlapping slightly at the top.  A Stitched Rectangle die is used to die cut the sentiment.  Please note that I moved the die over and cut a second time to fit around the sentiment.

What do you think of today’s card?   Check back tomorrow – I’ll have my 3rd and final card with this set.

Favored Flowers Birthday

Hi!  For today’s card, I am showcasing the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper that you can earn FREE until Feb 28 with a minimum $50 purchase (prior to S/H and tax) in my on-line store.

DSP, Designer Series Paper, Favored Flowers DSP, #SAB2023, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Birthday

I love when I can use our gorgeous Designer Series Paper as the star of the card.  This paper is SO pretty, it doesn’t need anything more than a ribbon and a sentiment.   The sentiment is from the Beautifully Happy Stamp set – also FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $100 purchase (prior to S/H and tax).

The sentiment is stamped on a scrap of Basic White in JetBlack StaZon and punched with the Double Oval punch.  A scrap of Petal Pink cardstock was used to punch the scallop oval from the Double Oval punch.  To finish the card, attach a piece of Petal Pink Soft Polyester Ribbon near the bottom and then use a smaller piece of the ribbon to tie a knot around it.  This method allows the ends of the ribbon to lie horizontal on the card.

The base of the card is Thick Basic White and the DSP is attached after the ribbon is attached.  The sentiment is attached using Mini Dimensionals.

Now, a little late, but here is the winner of the Counting Sheep Bundle!

Congratulations to Vonda for winning the Counting Sheep Bundle during my 18th Stampaversary Give Away!  I’ll be in touch soon to get your information to get this in the mail to you!

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Wishing you a great start to your weekend!

Fancy Fold with DSP

Hi!  How are you today?  We are winding down with Sale-A-Bration – as it ends on August 31, so I wanted to share with you one last card featuring the Wonderful World Bundle.

This one uses both the Designer  Series Paper and the coordinating Stamp set that you get in the bundle.  You still have time to earn this bundle FREE with a $100 purchase (US, prior to S/H and tax) in my on-line store.

Wonderful World, Very Best Occasions, Stampin' Up!, DSP, SU!, #SAB2022

Ok, so I did say that this was a Fancy Fold. what makes it that?  The Designer Series Paper is actually  4″ x 12″, so when you open the card, here is what you see!

Wonderful World, DSP, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #SAB2022, Fancy Fold

Isn’t that pretty?  Now you don’t  have to worry about which side of the paper to showcase!  This card showcases both!  You could use the entire pack to make 36 cards (you would just have to forgo the strip inside the card).

Here’s what you need:

  • Base – Mossy Meadow – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Designer Series Paper – 4″ x 12″, score at 5 1/4″ and 10 1/2″ – fold down on the first score and up on the second.
  • Inside – Basic White – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Strip (optional) – 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

Attach the back flap of the Designer Series Paper to the Base Mossy Meadow.  Adhere the bottom flap of the Designer Series Paper to the front using Seal adhesive.  Wrap the Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Thread (on the Clearance Rack for $2.80!) around the front and tie in a knot.

Use the Stampin’ Write Markers – Melon Mambo and Mossy Meadow, to ink the flower right on the stamp, and then stamp on a scrap of Basic White.  Die cut with the Stylish Shapes circle die.  Stamp the sentiment from Very Best Occasions (found in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog) in StaZon Jet Black ink over the flower.   Attach the circle to the card front using dimensionals.

I highly recommend the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set – the sentiments are prefect for card fronts – or insides, and covers Birthday, Christmas, Sympathy, Thinking of You, Thank You and just because.  I love when a sentiment set covers many different purposes.   With 3 kids out of the house, the sentiment above will be getting lots of use this coming year.

No Ink Required

Hi!  How are you today?  I hope today is a good day!  I’ve had a chance to play with the Wonderful World Sale-a-Bration Bundle – which you can earn FREE through August 31 with a $100 purchase (US, prior to S/H and tax).

I wanted to share how easy it is to make a card using the pretty Designer Series Paper in this bundle – with no stamping required.  (You could, tho, if you wanted to add a sentiment).

Wonderful World DSP, 2022SAB2, Stampin' Up!, SU!

The flowers in this Designer Series Paper are perfect for use on their own.  For this card, I punched 3 of the flowers using the Postage Stamp punch.  The layers for the card are:

  • Base – Thick Basic White – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.
  • Basic White – 5 1/4″ x 4″, run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss with the Stripes and Splatters 3D Embossing Folder (just the top of the piece.
  • Wonderful World 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper – 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

I am using  Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim which is on the Clearance Rack for just $2.80, behind the punched flowers.  As I said, it was quick to put together and required no stamping.

I hope this helps you take a look at your Designer Series Paper in a whole new light!

More Fun With Scraps

Hi!  Back today with another great way to use up Designer Series Paper scraps!

Expressions In Ink, Scraps, Hello, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog, #usehtosescraps

I wish I had been able to get a better picture – this card is stunning in real life.  The gold accents in the Designer Series Paper just pop with the Gold die cut.

The scraps measure 3/4″ x 3″ – so a 3″ x 3″ scrap is what you would need.  The scraps are staggered on the card front and attached with dimensionals.

The base is Pale Papaya measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.  The Basic White measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ and is embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

This Designer Series Paper is the Expressions in Ink Specialty Paper -and truly can stand on its own.  For this card, I paired it with a die from the Birds & More die set and Gold Foil.

The sentiment is stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and is from the Forever Fern stamp set.

A few Metallic Pearls finish off the card.  If you have not yet checked out the Expressions In Ink Designer Specialty Paper in the Annual Catalog, I highly recommend it!

There are just 2 weeks left of Sale-A-Bration!  So don’t delay in getting those orders in.  The Be Dazzling 6″ x 6″ paper has sold out and is no longer available.

More Scrappy Fun!

Hi!  Continuing on with our Snailed It Suite this week for today’s card.  And, wanted to give you another idea on how to use those Designer Series Paper scraps.

Hello, Friendship, Snailed It, DSP Scraps, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JanJuneMini2021

This is such a fun layout to play with and so much you can do with it – plus a great way to use up those scraps!

For this card, I started with a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper pack measuring 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″.  On the 4 1/2″ side, cut at 2 1/4″.  Rotate, keeping both pieces together, and on the 3 1/4″ side, cut at 1 5/8″.  You now have 4 equal sized rectangles.  Keep them in order for placement on the card.

For a mat, I used Real Red Cardstock measuring 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″.  Cut on the 4 3/4″ side at 2 3/8″.  Rotate, keeping both pieces together, and cut on the 3 1/2″ side at 1 3/4″.    Attach the Designer Series Pieces to these 4 Real Red pieces.

For the base of the card, I used Blushing Bride measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side and folded in half.  A layer of Basic White cardstock measuring 5 1/4″ x 4″ is layered on top.

Adhere 3 of the 4 squares as shown in the pattern above to the Basic White layer.  Stamp your sentiment in the lower right corner.   I punched a 2″ Real Red circle from scrap cardstock.

The mushrooms are stamped in Jet Black StaZon and colored with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.  Colors are Garden Green, Real Red, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight.

Here’s another version using the Snail:

Snailed It, Birthday, DSP Scraps, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JanJuneMini2021

You don’t have to use all the same Designer Series Paper pattern, the final rectangles measure 2 1/4″ x 1 5/8″.  The mat layers measures 2 3/8″ x 1 3/4″.

Purchase the Snail Mail Suite Collection in my on-line store!  The suite qualifies you for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item when purchased prior to Feb 28th!  Don’t miss out!
