Falling Flowers

Hi!  Back today with a set of cards I made featuring the retiring Falling Flowers, coordinating dies, and the retiring In Colors 2017-2019.

Falling Flowers, In Colors 2017-2019, Stampin' Up!, Thank You

I just love these colors paired with Gray Granite.  I think Gray Granite is my new favorite Neutral color.  I’ve used it so much lately.  For today’s cards, I used the retiring In Color 2017-2019 collection – Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig.  I tried to add Lemon Lime for the leaves, but really didn’t like it – so I switched to staying with just the one In Color on each card as my pop of color on Gray Granite.

The flowers are all embossed in Clear Embossing powder on Whisper White Card stock.  For the large flower, I first colored them by picked up ink with the Aqua Painter and watercoloring.  Then I went over each of the flowers using a brayer and the same ink color – this allowed for a lighter shade of the ink on the outside of the flowers.  For the medium sized flower, I brayered ink on first, then used a clean AquaPainter to remove some of the ink.  In this way, I have a darker outside to a lighter petal color.  For the smallest flowers, I colored with the marker then did a quick brayer over each.

Here is a closer view of the Tranquil Tide card:

Falling Flowers, Thank You, Thankful Thoughts, In Color 2017-2019, Stampin' Up!

I love how you can obtain different looks and shades using one ink pad.

To finish off the card, I stamped the leaves in Gray Granite in the top left.  I also used the Gray Granite marker and flecked each card.

The sentiment is stamped in the same In Color Ink used in the flowers on Gray Granite card stock then punched with the Classic Label punch.  This is layered on a Classic Label punch out of the same In Color that is cut in half.  The small flowers and the sentiment are attached using dimensionals.

I am sad to see this stamp set and die set leaving -these flowers are so pretty.  If you don’t have them yet, hurry before the are gone for good!  Just click on the product below to go to my on-line store and place your order.  Don’t forget to get your re-inker and card stock for those retiring colors as well!

I love different fold cards – they add a little something more to the card.  This card will still fit in an A2 envelope.

Here are the dimensions and scoring for the card:

  • Base – 4 1/4 x 11″ – score at 3 3/4″ and 8 3/4″ on the 11″ side
  • Inside Panel – 4 3/4″ x 4″
  • Front Left Panel – 3 1/2″ x 4″
  • Front Right Panel – 2″ x 4″

To finish off this card, I stamped Happy Birthday from the Perennial Birthday stamp set and flowers and leaves from the Love What You Do stamp set.   This is punched out with the 1 3/4″ circle punch and layered on a 2″ circle punch.   This is then attached to a Pearlized doily.   The doily is attached to just the right front panel.

The leaves on the inside are stamped in Tranquil Tide.

You Are Remarkable

Hi! Today I have a card featuring the You Are Remarkable set which is retiring at the end of this month.  The flowers in this set are gorgeous and just pop on a card.

Flowers, Thanks, You Are Remarkable, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I had some fun sponging this background.  The bottom part is sponged in Pear Pizzazz while the top is Soft Sky with a hit of Tempting Turquoise.  It is fun to mix the colors a bit to see the final result.

The flower is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and colored with Rose Red and Pink Pirouette markers.  For subtle shading, I’d run the tip of the Pink Pirouette marker lightly over the tip of the Rose Red and then color.  It is a great way to blend the colors together.  The flower is cut out with Paper Snips.  A frame is created using the Layering Squares and Stitched Shapes framelits.  The stem of the flower is put through the frame and then the two pieces are adhered together on the base of the card.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.  The stamped panel is mounted to a piece of Basic Black card stock.  The base of the card is Soft Sky.

I also created this same card changing the color of the flower to Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.

Flowers, Thanks, You are Remarkable, Stampin' Up!, SU!

You only have a few more weeks to purchase this set before it is gone for good.  You’ll find it in my On-Line Store here.

Wood Textures – A Feminine Look

Edited:  I am so sorry – this was supposed to post on Saturday while I was at On Stage – not sure what happened.  A few days late but here you go!

Hi! Today I have a feminine look for the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

Friend, Wood Textures, Wood Words, Flowers, Stampin' Up! SU!

I am so happy with how this card turned out.  I used the Wood Words and Perennial Birthday stamp sets for this card.  The flower collage on the Wood Texture Designer Series Paper is from Wood Words and is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.  The sentiment is also from that stamp set and stamped in the same color ink on a Whisper White Panel.

For the single flower from the Perennial Birthday set, I used Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke markers to color directly on the stamp before stamping on a scrap of Whisper White card stock.  I then colored in the flower with the Blushing Bride marker and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz.  This was punched out with a 1 3/8″ circle punch and layered on a 1 1/2″ Basic Black circle.

The base is Thick Whisper White card stock cut at 4 1/4 x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.  A piece of Cherry Cobbler measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ is adhered on top of this.  The Wood Textures paper measures 3 3/4″ x 5″.   The sentiment is stamped on  a piece of Whisper White that is 5/8″ x 3 3/4″ and is mounted on a piece of Basic Black that measures 3/4″ x 3 3/4″.

For a little more flare, I wrapped Linen Thread around my hand three times, twisted in the center to make a figure 8 and then adhered to the back of the Basic Black circle before attaching the flower with dimensionals to the base.

I did demonstrate how to make this card in Tuesday, April 3rd, Tuesday with Teresa – Wood Textures and Wood Words – live Facebook Demonstration.  You can watch it here.

Blossoming Basket

Hi!  How are you today?  I hope doing well!  First, I want to say THANK YOU!! to all those that voted for my Wedding Wishes card for Kylie’s International Blog Highlights.  I made the Top 10!!  I’ll be hopping with the rest of the Top 10 in the beginning of April – so stay tuned!

On to today’s card.  This card features the Blossoming Basket Bundle that is FREE with a $100 (US, prior to S/H and tax) purchase during Sale-A-Bration.  We are down to our FINAL week – so hurry and get those orders placed so you don’t miss out on FREE goodies!

Mother's Day, Flowers, Blossoming Basket, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

This would make a beautiful Mother’s Day card.  Went a little different by stamping my basket on Crumb Cake card  stock and just coloring the flowers and leaves.  I used the Berry Burst and Powder Pink 2017-2019 In Color markers for the Flowers and Old Olive for the leaves.  The basket and sentiment were stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.

The Basket Weave Embossing Folder was used on Whisper White card stock for the background.  The stamp set and embossing folder are bundled together in this FREE product choice.

I did use retired baker’s twine for an accent behind the stamped panel – but Basic Black twine which is current would look just as pretty.

I added a pearl to my sentiment panel and used the Triple Banner Punch to add interest to the opposite end.

The base  of the card is Crumb Cake and a layer of Berry Burst card stock is adhered on top of that.  A relatively straight forward card with just a few special touches for that someone special.

Just a few reminders – now is a great time to stock up on the 2016-2018 In Colors as they will be retiring at the end of May and if you stock up now, you also get to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration!

Falling Flowers

Hi!  Today I have a card I CASE’d (Copy and Selectively Edit) from Jen Timko.  Here is Jen’s card.  I truly loved this card – so decided to make my own.

Hello, Falling Flowers, Thoughtful Banners, Stampin' Up, SU!

I love how mine turned out!  The subtle colors on the dark wood background – just seems so warm to me!

My card base is Thick Whisper White with a sheet from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack covering the front.

The flowers are from the Falling Flowers set.  The leaves are from Painted Harvest set and the sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners.   The flowers are stamped in Soft Sky and So Saffron on coordinating card stock then die cut with the coordinating May Flowers dies.  The leaves are stamped in Always Artichoke on coordinating card stock and punched with the leaf punch.  The circles use both the Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles framelits.   The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and I used the Triple Banner punch to flag the end of it.  The ribbon is Soft Sky classic weave ribbon.  A few Enamel shapes finish off the card.

What do you think?  I am going to make a few more of these and send them out – hopefully they will brighten someone’s day!

Don’t forget, the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE Designer Series Paper sale ends next week on October 31st!  The Wood Textures paper used above is part of this awesome deal!  Just click the special on the right to place your order in my on-line store.
