Hi! Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge over at Global Design Project – #GDP098.
I have to admit, this one stumped me for a bit. I had my banners, but didn’t know what to do with them after that. I tried the bee’s nest and bees from A Little Wild – but didn’t like how that looked. I thought about flowers – but it seems like that is the typical fall back, so didn’t want to go there. Then it dawned on me – balloons for a birthday! And, there you have it. The banners are from the Delightful Daisy DSP pack as well as the Eastern Palace DSP pack. The balloons and sentiment are from the Balloon Celebration set. The balloons are stamped in So Saffron and Crushed Curry. The sentiment is stamped in Black Archival ink. My layers are Whisper White and Pool Party. The base is Thick Whisper White card stock. Once the creative juices kicked in, a relative quick and simple card.
What do you turn to when your mojo has taken a vacation?
Hi! Today I am playing along with the Color Challenge over at Global Design Project #GDP097
The colors for the challenge are Berry Burst, Wild Wasabi and Crumb Cake. I hadn’t played with my Pretty Kitty set in a while and thought it fit the challenge perfectly.
I stamped my image in Basic Black Archival ink and die cut with the Layering Ovals. The mat behind is Berry Burst cut with the coordinating Stitched Framelits.
To get the different shades of flowers and butterfly, I used a blender pen to pick up my Berry Burst ink and colored as I went until the color was all out of the pen – this allowed for lighter and lighter shades so I could stay with the three colors. I did use Versa Mark ink to stamp the background butterflies on the Crumb Cake base. The butterflies are from Sharing Sweet Thoughts – this year’s Ronald McDonald House Charities set.
A little strip of Designer Series Paper from the Color Theory pack as well as some linen thread finishes off the card.
What would you do with these three colors?
Good news! The Daisy Punch is back in stock!! You can now order your Daisy Bundle here!
Hi! Today I am playing along with the sketch challenge for Global Design Projects – #GDP094.
For my card, I used the Bundle of Love Designer Series Paper for my background and the shells from So Many Shells. The sand dollar is Blush Blossom and Calypso Coral and the shell is So Saffron and Crushed Curry. The sentiment is from Wood Words and stamped in Early Espresso. My cardstock is Very Vanilla and Early Espresso.
It was fun trying to come up with a design following the sketch. I have a few others in mind that I hope to try later today.
Hi! Today I am playing along with Global Design Project’s Color Challenge #GDP093 Here is my card:
Our colors are:
For my card, I decided to do a take on the Bokeh effect – it isn’t quite the same, but it is close. I used the circle stamp from Wood Words stamped in Lemon Lime Twist, the Daisy Center from Daisy Delight stamped in Pool Party and a sponge dauber inked in Berry Burst for my 3 different sized circles. The sentiment is from the Wood Words set as well. The layer behind my Bokeh panel is a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Naturally Eclectic pack. The daisy is stamped with Pool Party, the center with Berry Burst. While it is hard to see in this picture, I did use Wink of Stella on the daisy center. A little Pool Par
ty solid baker’s twine finishes off the card. I am very happy with how this turned out!
Just wanted to remind you that the Daisy Delight Bundle is back in stock – and I am offering a FREE set of 4 cards handmade by me to all those who order the bundle by June 30th. Here’s a peek at part of your FREE gift:
Look – I am even making a daisy box to send your cards in! Isn’t it cute?
Hi! Playing with new product today! It’s the Lemon Zest Bundle! I am also playing along with Global Design Projects – CASE the designer – #GDP092
This is such a refreshing bundle to play with – and perfect for summer! The lemons are stamped in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the coordinating punch. The leaves are stamped in Old Olive. The layer behind the lemons is die-cut using the Eclectic Layers framelits and from the new Lemon-Lime Twist card stock. My sentiment is colored with a Basic Black marker (the actual stamp has the words on two separate lines – but I wanted it to read across to match the layout for the challenge). The Designer Series Paper behind the Lemon panel is from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper stack. This is then layered on Old Olive. I used the Thick Whisper White for my base.
I didn’t take a picture of the inside (I need to remember to do that) but I did stamp the sentiment Squeeze it for all it’s worth in Basic Black.
You will find all the products used for this card in my on-line store!
There you have it – hope you enjoy the fresh look of today’s card! If you decide to play along with this week’s GDP challenge – please let me know!
Hi! Today I am playing along with this week’s Global Design Project challenge which is to create a card with a Nautical Theme – #GDP047
I pulled out my From Land to Sea set and decided to get inky with some sponging. I was having so much fun, I made 2 cards. First this one:
I used the Embossed Resist technique for my jellyfish. To do that, follow these steps:
Ink Jellyfish with Versamark and stamp on Whisper White card stock.
Apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with heat gun
Sponge Pear Pizzazz in random areas.
Sponge Bermuda Bay in and around the Pear Pizzazz
Sponge Tempting Turquoise in any remaining white spots and lightly over the Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz ink
Go back and add Pear Pizzazz and Bermuda Bay until you have a water look that you like.
Take a clean paper towel and wipe off any ink on the Jellyfish.
For the sentiment on this card, I embossed using White Embossing Powder on Basic Black cardstock.
I had so much fun getting inky with the above card, I decided to make another card:
The jelly fish panel followed the same steps as above. I decided to go with a smaller panel so that I could use my Vertical Greetings stamp set for the sentiment. I also added some “bubble” sequins to my water.
Hope you enjoyed today’s cards! Thanks for stopping by!
