A Little Treat

Hi! Welcome to the Team Stamp It September Blog Hop!   This month we are featuring Halloween projects!  I am excited to share this little treat with you featuring products from the August-Dec Mini Catalog.

Halloween, Treat Holders, Magin In the Night, Little Treat Box, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AugDecMini

I know, you were probably expecting a candy holder, but I decided to go with something a little different.  I’ll still be packaging up candy for the little ones, but thought some of my friends would appreciate these.

We’ll start with the Chapstick holder – this is a take on the one shown in August-December Mini Catalog on page 52.   Since I didn’t have the Magic in the Night bundle, I changed it up a bit.  My die cut is made using Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  The Designer Series Paper is Magic in the Night.  I only made one slit in the middle to hold the Chapstick since my die is a bit smaller than the one used in the catalog.  The sentiment, tag and spider come from the Little Treats Bundle in the August-December Catalog.  I used Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry Markers to color the sentiment.  I did use the 1 1/2″ Mesh Ribbon to tie around the Chapstick – I love this ribbon – so fun and perfect for that spidery web.  For the tag, tho, I went with the 3/8″ Glittered Organdy ribbon from the Annual Catalog.

Now, what is hiding inside the box on the left?  Well, let’s open it and see!

Halloween, Magic in the Night, Treat Holder, PocketBac Holder, Stampin' Up!, SU! #stampithalloweenhop, #2020AugDecMini

Yes, tucked inside is a Pocket Bac hand sanitizer!  How cute is this?  And, let me tell you, very easy to make.

The box is Rich Razzleberry measuring 2 1/4″ by 10 1/2″.  Score on the 10 1/2″ side at 2″, 3″, 6″, 7″, 9″ and 10″.  Using the smallest Oval in the Stitched Shapes die set, cut a hole in between the 9″ and 10″ score lines.

It should look like this:

PocketBac Template

Fold on all the score lines with a bone folder to get crisp edges and then lay flat.  Fold up on the 10″ score line (so it is covering part of the oval) and place a piece of Tear and Tape on this 1/2″ edge.  Keeping this edge folded, fold up on the 7″ score line and adhere the tab to the back of the box.  That’s all there is to it.  Decorate the front as desired.  You’ll  slide the PocketBac in through the side and pop the top of it through the Oval.  The two pieces of Designer Series paper covering the top and bottom measure 2″ x 1 3/4″.  I used the same spider, tag and ribbon from the Chapstick to decorate the box.  The tag is  attached by placing dimensionals on the bottom of the box right below the lid – allowing you to tuck the lid behind the tag to keep it closed.

What do you think?  I hope my friends like them!

Circle of Life

Hi!  Welcome to the Stamp It Group August Blog Hop featuring Fall!!  I am very excited to be a part of the Blog Hop this month as it has been a while since I’ve been able to participate.  I have a little different spin for you today featuring the Life is Beautiful Stamp set from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog.

Hello, Friendship, Fall, Life is Beautiful, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AugDecMini, #StampItBlogHop

So, my twist on this card – there are two.  First, I used the tree image as a branch – I love to do this – so many fun things to do when turned sideways.  The second – I didn’t have a circle die large enough to create a mat for the stamped image so instead I die cut 3 smaller circles from various cardstock and used them to create a mat.  I love how it turned out!  Oh and 3rd, I used my Stampin’ Blend – Cajun Craze – color the rhinestones on the card.

Here’s a video showing how I made the card (it is the second card in the video):

Team Stamp It – Valentine Hop

Hi! Today I am excited to be participating in the Team Stamp It Valentine’s Blog Hop!

I just love this little treat holder and think it is perfect for anyone!

Valentines, Treat Holder, Envelope Punch Board, Hedgehugs, Stampin' Up!, SU! Stampithop

He is carrying 5 Hershey Nuggets inside his pouch.  The original idea for a single nugget was created by Dawn Griffith and this 5 nugget version was designed by Deseree Krumm.

It is quick and easy to make using the Envelope Punch Board.

Cut your All My Love Designer Series Paper at 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″.

Line up one side at the 2″ mark on the punch board, punch and score.  Rotate the paper counterclockwise, and line up the score line with the little notch on the punch board to the left of the opening.  Punch and score.  Repeat the rotation and score for the remaining sides -always aligning the score line to the notch.

Here is my video – it is the second project – showing how to make this using the punch board.

Side note – if you liked the first project, you’ll  find details on it here.

The image is stamped from the Hedgehugs Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink.  The sentiment is from the exclusive stamp set in the January Paper Pumpkin and is stamped in Real Red ink.  A little heart is placed over the flower and was punched with the Cookie Cutter Builder punch from Real Red Cardstock.

Trick-or-Treat Halloween Blog Hop

Hi! Welcome to the Team Stamp It Halloween Blog Hop!  You are sure to find tons of inspiration for Halloween Fright!

My project today is this adorable mini milk carton!

Halloween, Treat Holder, Mini Milk Carton, Stampin' Up!, SU! #stampitbloghop

Isn’t it adorable?  I love the Toil and Trouble Designer Series Paper – perfect for all your Halloween crafting!  In this project, I’ve paired the paper with the Seasonal Chums set in the Annual Catalog – don’t you love when you can use new products with existing ones already in your collection?

To make the Mini Milk Carton, you need a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4″ piece of cardstock or Designer Series Paper.

  • Score on the 8 1/4″ side at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″.
  • Score on the 5 1/2″ side at 1 1/2″, 3 1/2″ and 5″.
  • Along the 5″ score line, make a tick mark at 1″ and 5″ along the 8 1/4″ side.
  • Use a ruler and a stylus to score diagonal lines between the 5″ and 3 1/2″ score lines from the 1″ tick mark to the lower left corner at the 3 1/2″ score line and the lower right corner at the 3 1/2″ score line.
  • Repeat above step for the 5″ tick mark.    See picture for clarity: (Dotted lines are score lines, solid lines are cut lines)

  • Cut off the lower right corner that is 1/4″ by 1 1/2″.  (Already removed in picture)
  • Create angle cuts on the top and bottom of the remaining part of the tab.
  • Cut up from the bottom to the 1 1/2″ score line at 2″, 4″ and 6″.
  • Fold on all score lines.
  • Place Tear & Tape along the tab and close the box.
  • Use Tear & Tape to seal the bottom.
  • Decorate as desired and use Baker’s Twine, Linen Thread or a Galvanized Clip to close the top of the box.

For the decorations, I used the pumpkins from Seasonal Chums.  It is stamped in Jet Black StaZon on Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  The stem is colored in Crumb Cake, the leaves in Old Olive and the face in Basic Black.

Here’s a closer view of the front and back:

Halloween, Treat Holders, Mini Milk Carton, Seasonal Chums, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #stampitbloghop     Halloween, Treat Holders, Mini Milk Carton, Seasonal Chums, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #stampitbloghop

On the sides, I die cut bats using the coordinating Seasonal Tag Framelits from Basic Black card stock and colored with Clear Wink of Stella:

Halloween, Seasonal Chums, Mini Milk Carton, Treat Holder, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #stampitbloghopI used one of the new Galvanized Clips to keep the top closed after filling with Halloween Treats such as Dove Milk Chocolate Caramels and Reese’s Peanutbutter Ghosts.   The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black ink on Crushed Curry cardstock and punched with the Classic Label punch.  Black solid Baker’s Twine ties the tag to the clip.

I just love how this turned out and will be making a few more to give out to family, friends and co-workers.

Stamp It – Fall Blog Hop

Hi! Today I am happy to be back hopping with my fellow Team Stamp It demonstrators!!  You will find lots of great ideas to help you get ready for Fall!

Today’s card is brought to you by the Touches of Texture stamp set!

Fall Flowers, Hello, Stamp It Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Touches of Texture

This set is so fun to play with!  I showcased another card with this set in this post.

I stamped the flowers in Soft Suede ink and then used the large splatter stamp inked in Crushed Curry over that.   I then used the smallest splatter to add color to the flowers in Cajun Craze, Real Red, and Blackberry Bliss.

The Designer Series Paper is from the upcoming Holiday Catalog that debuts on Sept 5.  It is called Country Lane and will be a must have for your Fall projects.

The Base of this card is Soft Suede measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half.  The Very Vanilla layer measures 4 x 5 1/4″.

The sentiment is from the Banners for You Set stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink on Crushed Curry cardstock and die cut.   The final touch to the card is the linen thread which is wrapped around twice before being tied into a bow.

If you’d like to watch a video – the second card in this one shows how I made the card:

Love Fall?

Hi! Today I am hopping with the Stamp It! Group for a Halloween/Fall themed hop!

I came across this fun and easy fold and thought I’d share it with you today for my fall card.

Lovely as a Tree, StampItHop, Fall, Painted Autumn, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I used Lovely as a Tree for my center panel giving it fall colors.  I colored directly with markers on the stamp, then used a blender pen and ink to fill in the trunk and grass.  The birds are hand drawn with a marker.   I sponged a bit of Soft Sky around the tree.   The sentiment is from One Big Meaning.  I colored the Thank You with the Cajun Craze marker so that I could omit the other words on the stamp.  The acorns are from Painted Harvest and stamped in Crumb Cake for the nut and Early Espresso for the top.

The Designer Paper on the outside is from the Painted Autumn Designer Series pack.  The inside panels are from the Wood Textures Designer Series stack.

So, how do you make the card.  Here are the directions:

  1. Base: 4 1/4″ x 8″ – score at 1 1/4″, 2 1/2″, 5 1/2″ and 6 3/4″
  2. Fold down on the 1 1/4″ and 6 3/4″ score lines and up on the other two.
  3. Designer Series Paper Panels measure 1″ x 4″.
  4. The center image panel is 2 1/2 x 3 3/4.  The Cajun Craze mat is 2 3/4 x 4″.
  5. The sentiment panel is 1″ x 5 1/4″. The Early Espresso mat is 1 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
  6. To attach the bridge, lay the card so it is folded on the left hand side but flat on the right hand side.  See picture below.
  7. Apply Tear & Tape to just the two ends of the bridge so that the card can move and stand upright.
  8. The size of the card allows for mailing in our standard card envelopes.

I hope you like my card!

A Little Sparkle – Team Stamp It! Blog Hop

Hi! Welcome to the Team Stamp It! Christmas in July Blog Hop!!  So excited to be hopping with you today!  I just love how this turned out and it is so easy to do!

Lovely As A Tree, LaaT, Star of Light, SU!, Stampin' Up!, Embossing Paste, Glitter, Christmas

Let me show you a close up of the tree – and then explain what I did:

Lovely As A Tree, LaaT, SU!, Stampin' Up!, Christmas, Embossing Paste, Glitter

Do you see all that sparkle?  I added Dazzling Diamond Glitter to the Embossing Paste and then swiped it over my stamped image!  IRL it looks like it is snowing!  With just a thin layer of Embossing Paste, the glitter sticks and looks so pretty!

As you probably guessed, I used Lovely As A Tree for my image.  I colored the tree with Garden Green and the trunk with Chocolate Chip.  Once it dried, I covered the entire layer with the mixture of Dazzling Diamonds and Embossing Paste.  The paste dried in no time!

I layered the image on Basic Black.  I tied silver thread around the top and then layered the panel on a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Be Merry DSP pack.  That was then layered on Silver Foil and finally onto a Garden Green base.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink on a scrap of Whisper White then die cut with the Bunch of Banners Framelits.  This was popped into a banner of Garden Green using the same die.  Lastly, a scrap of SIlver Foil was used again with the same die, cut in half and adhered to the back.

I’d love to know what you think of this card.  I’ll be making some of these for my cards this year as I am just so happy with how it looks!

Summer Time Stamp It Blog Hop

Hi! Today I am playing along in the Team Stamp It Summer Blog Hop!

School ended on Thursday for my children and we celebrated by heading to the local ice cream shop.  That inspired my card for today – as this represents the start of summer for us.

I used the new Marbled background stamp, inked in Powder Pink for the background.  The ice cream swirl is also Powder Pink and the cone is Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso.  The sentiment and ice cream cone are from the Cool Treats stamp set.

I added a bit of Gold Thread behind my main panel and dimensionals on the ice cream cone.

Do you have a tradition that kicks off summer for you?
