More Fun with Brushos

Hi!  I am back today with another card made using the Brushos!

Brushos, Watercoloring, Dragonflies, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Thanks

I actually demonstrated how to do this background on my Facebook page Tuesday night, Jan 30th.  You’ll find it on this page.  The Brushos are quite fun to play with – there are so many different techniques and so many colors you can make from the 5 colors that come in the set.

For this particular background panel, I sprinkled the Yellow and Brilliant Blue Brushos on Whisper White cardstock then spritzed with water.  If you spritz at an angle, the colors will spray and spread more than if you spritz straight down.  Once dry, it was layered on a piece of Basic Black card stock.  My base is the Thick Whisper White.

For the dragonflies, die cut from a scrap of Basic Black cardstock.  Embellish with Wink of Stella Clear.  They’ll become sparkly:

Dragonflies, Brushos, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Occasions2018

The fun with Brushos – even when using the same two colors – you can get a different look!   I hope you’ll give them a try!

All supplies used in the making of this card can be found in my on-line store.  Use hostess code: AWRFCDQY

A Little Toucan…

Of Appreciation!   Do you like play on words?  I do!  So this set is right up my alley!

Birds, Puns, Bird Banter, Stampin' Up!, SU!, 2018OccasionsCatalog

I miss the “For the Birds” set so was very excited when I saw Bird Banter in the Occasions catalog.  I finally  had a chance to play with it and came up with this card to thank those who place orders with me this month.   For this card, I used the toucan image and colored him with the Stampin’ Blends.  I love these markers and feel they are well worth the investment.   The patterned paper is from the Picture Perfect Party DSP stack and is mounted on a Lemon Lime Twist mat.  The base is Bermuda Bay.  I added a strip of Basic Black cardstock layered with the Calypso Coral Ombre ribbon behind my image.  The image is die cut with the Layering Circles framelits.  This is layered on a Bermude Bay stitched circle.   The sentimenet is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink in the lower right corner.  I hope my customers enjoy this one!

It’s not too late for you to receive one of these cards!  Simply place an order through my on-line store by January 31st and you’ll receive one as well!  Sale-A-Bration is in full swing now and every $50 purchase (US, prior to S/H and tax) earns you a FREE Sale-A-Bration product from the brochure.

Wild About Flowers

Hi! Today I am taking part in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights and our theme is All About Flowers!   If you’d like to vote for your favorites, please click here.  I’d love to make the Top 10 this month and take part in a special January Blog Hop for the Top 10 winners!

Ok, well, it would be good if you know what you are voting for.  Here is my card:

Flowers, Thank You, International Highlights, Wild About Flowers, Burlap BG, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I am so happy with how this card turned out.  I started with the Burlap background stamp inked in Crumb Cake ink.  I then stamped the leaves in Always Artichoke and the flowers in Cajun Craze from the Wild About Flowers stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Hello Friend stamp set and stamped in Cajun Craze as well.  I used the Triple Banner punch to make the flag look for the sentiment.

A scrap of Cajun Craze card stock was placed along the bottom of the stamped panel.  I trimmed a piece of the burlap ribbon in half (I wanted a narrow piece) to wrap around the Cajun Craze.   The sentiment is attached using dimensionals.

The stamped panel is also attached with dimensionals to a Thick Whisper White card stock base.

The card is being sent to someone special – their support of my Stampin’ Up! on-line presence on social media has been so uplifting and I wanted to let them know.  I hope they like it!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you will click the link above and check out the other entries and vote for your favorites!

Out to Sea

Hi!  Today I am back with a card we made at Friday’s Any Occasion’s class.  The goal of the class was to make cards that just needed a sentiment for the occasion on hand.

High Tide, So Many Shells, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Occasions

This card uses the High Tide and So Many Shells sets.  The water and birds are from High Tide while the sentiment is from So Many Shells. These two sets work so well together.  The water is stamped with Marina Mist ink, the birds with Chocolate Chip and the Sentiment in Sahara Sand.   It may be a little hard to see, but Soft Sky ink was dabbed on using a sponge for the sky.   The stamped panel is mounted to a Marina Mist panel and the base is Thick Whisper White.  A very quick and easy card that can be used for masculine birthdays, thanks or could also be used for a Sympathy card.

Just a reminder, if you earned a bonus coupon in July, please use them before August 31st!  I’d hate for you to lose out on that savings you earned!

Also, the Carols of Christmas bundle can be ordered this month so you can get a head start on those Christmas projects!

A Daisy Thank You

Hi!  Today I am playing along with Kylie’s International Blog Highlight!  The theme is Gratitude – Thailand inspired.   I designed a Thank You card to thank my customers this month who purchase from me – and are helping me toward my goal of earning this year’s incentive trip to Alaska!

Daisy Delight, SU!, Stampin' Up!

This card features the Daisy Delight stamp set.  I wanted to make a card just using the stamp set – to show you do not need the punch to make a gorgeous card with the set.  My colors are Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz.    The flower panel is matted on Perfect Plum cardstock.  Thick Whisper White is used for the card base.  The sentiment and ribbon are Powder Pink.

I’d love your vote for this card in Kylie’s highlight! If I make the Top 10, I’ll get to hop along with Kylie and the others in a special hop in August!  To vote for my card, simply go here.

If you’d like to receive this card in the mail this month and live in the US, simply place an order through my on-line store and I’ll send one out!

Polished Stone

Hi – had some fun at Friday night’s Fun With Glossy Cardstock making these cards using the Polished Stone technique.

Stampin' Up! SU! Thankful Thoughts, Polished Stone, 2017-2019 In Colors

For this card, Calypso Coral was paired with the new Lemon-Lime Twist to make the background.  If you’ve never tried this technique, here is what you do:

  1. Run the Embossing Buddy over your Glossy Cardstock
  2. Ink your stamp with Versamark and stamp on the Glossy Cardstock
  3. Pour Clear Embossing Powder over the Versamark image and tap off any extra
  4. Heat set with the Heat Tool.
  5. Spritz Rubbing Alcohol on a cotton ball
  6. Place 2-3 drops of Calypso Coral ink on the cotton ball.
  7. Place 2-3 drops of Lemon-Lime Twist on the cotton ball.
  8. Pounce cotton ball all over the Glossy Cardstock – including the embossed image
  9. Once you have the coverage you like, use the Heat Tool to re-heat the stamped image and watch the image pop out of the color (basically you are evaporating the rubbing alcohol and ink from the embossed image).
  10. If your image doesn’t really stand out – apply more ink to the cotton ball and re-apply to the Glossy Cardstock.
  11. Embellish card as desired.

Here is a version in Berry Burst and Fresh Fig:

Stampin' Up! SU! Thankful Thoughts, Polished Stone, 2017-2019 In Colors

The fun thing with this technique – it can be vibrant or muted – depending on the amount of ink used.

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards!

A Sketch Challenge

Hi.  Today I am playing along with this week’s Freshly Made Sketch #282.

Stampin' Up! SU! Basket Bunch, Little Cuties

For this card, I used the little chick from the Basket Bunch set and the coordinating dies to cut him out.  He is colored with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin pie markers.  The sentiment is from the Little Cuties stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Basket Bunch, Weather Together, SU!

For this one, I used the daffodil flower from the Basket Bunch set.  The sentiment is from Weather Together.  I chose to stamp the sentiment around the outside for this one.  The smallest and largest Square Stitched Framelits were used to die cut the squares.  The flowers are Daffodil Delight and the background is Soft Suede.

Lastly, I made this one:Stampin' Up! SU! Basket Bunch, That's The Tag

This one uses the flower from Basket Bunch and the sentiment from That’s The Tag.  I distressed the edges of the Island Indigo to give a little dimension to the panel.  The base and flowers are Soft Sky.

All 3 cards are 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 – a fun size to play with from the traditional A2 size.

What’s the last non-traditional size card you made?

Favorite Color Combo

Hi!  I am in LOVE with this color combination!!

Stampin' Up!, SU! Make A Medallion, Sale-A-Bration

I came across this color combination when using the Blooms & Wishes Designer Series Paper for March’s Stamp Set of the Month club and fell in love!!  Island Indigo and Mint Macaron.  How pretty they are together!  Unfortunately, Mint Macaron will be retiring at the end of May.  Time to stock up on a refill and card stock so I can continue to make cards for my personal use with this color.

The stamp set featured on this card is the Make A Medallion Sale-A-Bration set.  I love how the two stamps intertwine with each other for my main image.  And that little corner stamp?  So pretty!  Have you earned this set for FREE yet?  No?  Well, you only have 2 more days before Sale-A-Bration ends and it is no longer available!

Tarnished Hexagons

Hi!  How are you today?  I hope doing well.  Today I have a few cards featuring a few of the products in the Urban Underground Suite and playing along with this week’s Case the Designer over at Global Design Projects #GDP072 – I rotated the sketch for my cards.  I hope you like them!

SU! Window Dressing, Urban Underground

First up is this Thanks card.  I went back to the Tarnished Foil technique shown in this post.   It is a fun technique and I love the texture it adds to the card.  The sentiment is from the Window Shopping stamp set and is embossed in silver.  The Designer Paper is from the Urban Underground Specialty Pack.  I added a bit of Silver thread behind the sentiment – that is wrapped around my fingers a few times and adhered to the back of the sentiment using snail.  I then pulled and pushed to make it a little less studied.

The second card is a birthday card – I have quite a few male birthdays in the family this month – and think some of them will appreciate this card.

After embossing the panel in the Thanks Card – I realized I wanted more of the StaZon to show – so I applied more of it to the foil before embossing for this card.  I love the mix of the silver tin foil, the black StaZon and the copper embossing.  The sentiment is also from the Window Shopping stamp set.  On this one, I added the metal stars from the Urban Underground Embellishment pack.

I hope you enjoyed today’s projects!

A Huge Thank You!

Hi!  I found out this week that I made Kylie Bertucci’s Top 10 for the January International Project Highlights!

I so appreciate all of you that voted for this card!  I will be hopping with the rest of the Top 10 winners (as well as those from December) in February.

SU! So Very Much, Delicate Details, SAB 2017

This card is for you!  The card is a single layer card featuring 2 of this year’s Sale-A-Bration sets – So Very Much and Delicate Details.  A few tips – stamp the Thank You first in the center of your card.  Then stamp the lace trim – first in Mint Macaron – I had my card square to the grid on my grid paper and was able to line up the stamp using the grid lines to make sure I stamped it straight.  I then inked the same stamp in Cucumber Crush, flipped it over and again lined it up using the grid lines as well the Mint Macaron image so that it was straight and matched the first image.  Worked like a charm!  Hope this helps if you decide to try.

You can earn either or both of these  sets for FREE with a minimum $50 (US) purchase (prior to S/H and tax!)

Thanks for stopping by!
