From the Whimsical to the Elegant

Hi.  In my last post I showed a Center Step Easel Card on the whimsical side.  Today I have one a bit more elegant.

SU! Floral Phrases

This card uses the Floral Phrases stamp set.  I used markers directly on the stamp to color my flowers.  The flower is colored with Night of Navy and the Leaves with Old Olive.  The Designer Paper is from the Floral Boutique pack.  My base is our 12×12 Kraft paper – I think it works very well with the Designer Paper.  I decided to punch out my sentiment this time and ink the edges with Night of Navy.  I also added a little bling to the flower using the Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter pen.  Here is a close-up showing that:

SU! Floral Phrases

You could easily change the sentiment and turn this into a wedding card if need be.  Since I don’t have any upcoming weddings, I went with the thanks sentiment in the set.

Hope you enjoyed today’s more elegant look to the Center Step Easel card!

Thanks Kindly

Hi!  I need to say a big thanks to Lydia Fiedler over at Understand Blue for today’s inspiration.  I loved her use of the Seasonal Masks (retiring TODAY!), and had to try it.  Here is my version:

SU! One Big Meaning, Seasonal Decorative Masks

I love how quick this was to make and how pretty it turned out.  The ombre look of the three blue inks for the design worked well together.  I started with sponging Soft Sky in the lower right, moved up to Marina Mist and ended with Island Indigo.  The fun part about this – you can do as little or as much as you want!  And the mask – that was originally used to make ghosts at Halloween!  Too much fun!  If you don’t have these masks yet – HURRY – they are retiring at 11:59PM MT (that’s 1:59AM EST).

You can get these masks in my on-line store here.

Tomorrow kicks off the Occasions  Catalog and Sale-A-Bration!  I am so excited!!

A Little Bag

Hi!  Thanks so much for the great response to yesterday’s post on my cards – the comments made my heart smile!  I am so happy I have inspired you!

Today, I have a little bag to show you – I think these would be cute sitting on your Thanksgiving table for your family and friends with a little note tucked inside telling them why you are thankful they are in your life.

SU! Gift Bag Punch Board, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Thoughtful Banners

These are made using the Gift Bag punch board.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Petals and Paisley Designer Specialty pack.  Start with a piece that is 10″ x 4″ (this allows you to make 3 from 1 sheet of paper!).  Use the Small setting on the board to make your bags.  I do have a hint in regards to punching the holes if you are a first timer (like I was) for threading the ribbon – line up the score lines used to make the front and back panels of the bag with the indicator on the reverse punch – not the center side panel score line!  I couldn’t find that in the directions so thought I’d mention it here.

The sentiment on the bags is from the Thoughtful Banners set and punched with the coordinating Banner punch.

Here is a close-up of two of the bags:

SU! Gift Bag Punch Board, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Thoughtful Banners

I used the Mint Macaron Sheer Ribbon on this one to tie my bag closed.  Don’t worry – the banner is popped up with dimensionals and the ribbon tucked behind so the receiver can still untie the bow to peek at the gift inside.

SU! Gift Bag Punch Board, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Thoughtful Banners

For this one, I used the Delightful Dijon ribbon from the Ribbon Trio pack in the Holiday Catalog.

I hope you enjoyed today’s little bags and please let me know if you decide to try your hand at making them!

Going Vertical

Hi!  How are you today?  I had some time to stamp last night so pulled out the new Vertical Greetings set to play with.  I made two cards using the potted tree.  This was my first card:

SU! Vertical Greetings

I really liked my color choices and how the tree turned out.  I had used the “thumping” technique for the leaves.  Have you tried it yet?  No?  Well, here is what you do – color your image with a marker – I used Pear Pizzazz as my base color, then take a second marker and tap the brush tip end randomly over the base color.  I used Always Artichoke as my “thumped” color.  Very easy to do – and a great look for trees and leaves!  While I liked how this card turned out, I was completely happy with it, so I played with the same supplies and came up with this card:

SU! Vertical Greetings

I like this one much better.  While it doesn’t show in this picture, I did cut off 1 1/4″ of the front panel.  The polka-dotted Designer Paper is actually attached to the inside of the card.  The strip with Thank You stamped on it is attached to the front panel.

So, what card do you prefer?  Leave a comment and I’ll be happy to send you your favorite! (You’ll need to email me your address, too!)

TBT Liberty For All

Hi!  I decided to do a Throw Back Thursday with a twist.  This card wasn’t made back in the day – but it is using 2 retired stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!  I was playing around for a design for my son’s Thank You cards for his Eagle Court Of Honor and here is what I designed using the Liberty For All and Wonderful Words.

SU! Liberty For All, Wonderful Words

What do you think?  The card stock colors and markers are all current – Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (tho it is hard to see the sparkle of the stars in this picture).  I really like how this turned out – now to see if it passes approval.

One last note for you today, Bonus Days are here!!  From now until July 31, for every $50 US you spend in one order (prior to S/H and tax) you will earn a coupon from Stampin’ Up! for $5 to spend on an order August 2-31st.  How cool is that?  Just shop on-line here:  Teresa’s On-line Store

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Mixed Textures

Hi!  How are you today?  Did you check out the Team Stamp It! New Catalog Blog Hop yet?  If not, check out my post from Saturday and make sure to leave a comment so you can be entered into the give away!

Today, I have a card for you featuring the new Mixed Borders set.  I love that the border stamp has an opening for your sentiment.  I paired the set with Timeless Textures.

MixedTextures_small_wm  Trying to work on my “collage” technique – slowly getting there – but it does take a bit.  If you haven’t noticed, my style is more “clean” – but I do like how this one turned out.  What do you think?

I’ll need to make a few more of these cards as I have some special people I need to thank!

Little Lady Bugs

Hi!  Had a little bit of time to craft today and made this card using the hostess set Love You Lots.  Such a cute set!

SU! Love You Lots

I used the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack for my background layer.  I also used the new Brights Enamel Shapes next to my sentiment – these embellishments are so fun!  Just a little bling to finish the card off.  What do you think?  A quick and simple card for today – easy to mass produce if you have a need.

Did you know that when you join during the month of June you can choose an additional 2 stamp sets for your starter kit?  Hurry, tho, because the offer  ends on June 30th!

Post-It Holder Thanks

Hi!  I first saw these cute holders posted by Liz Miller.  When I checked out her blog post, she thanked Carrie for the idea and tutorial.  So – thank you both Liz and Carrie!  These are perfect for end of the year teacher gifts!  You can find Liz’s creation here, and Carrie’s video tutorial here.

SU! Thoughtful Banners, Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack

As these are gifts for teachers, I did use retired Designer Series Paper on one of them and then the family (Subtles and Brights) Designer Series Paper Stack for the other three – but you can always switch out your favorite!  I forgot to snap a picture, but there is a little pocket on the back side of the holder that will fit a gift card.

Here are a few more:

SU! Thoughtful Banners, SU! Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack

I did use the new Thoughtful Banners stamp set and coordinating punch for the sentiment.

Here’s a card I made to showcase a few new stamp sets and some of the new In Colors.  They are FUN!!

SU! Painter's Palette, SU! Love & Affection, SU! Thoughtful Banners

I combined 3 stamp sets for this card – love how well Stampin’ Up! products coordinate with each other.  The easel and background splatter on the base are images from the Painter’s Palette set.  The flowers are from Love & Affection and colored with In Color markers and the sentiment is from a MUST HAVE set called Thoughtful Banners (it also has a coordinating punch!)  The card base is the new Sweet Sugarplum.  If you look closely at the flowers, you also get a peek at Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, and Flirty Flamingo.  The Designer Series Paper panel on the left shows Peekaboo Peach.  So a little look at all the new In Colors.

What do you think?  In love with the new products yet?  Ok – maybe it is a little early since that catalog only went live a few hours ago – but trust me – you will LOVE it!!!  Shop my on-line store to get your new In Colors and stamps!

SU! Six Sided Sampler. Gorgeous Grunge, Bold Butterfly

I sent this card to Lyssa Zwolanek to say thanks for the new blog header, watermark, and signature you now see on my blog.  Don’t they look great!! I love how they turned out!  I used the colors I had asked her to use for my blog and, of course, it wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t add on a butterfly  The idea for the card is CASEd from the 2015-16 Annual Catalog.  I am sad to see the Six Sided Sampler set on the retiring list – as it is fun to play with and so easy to use.  If you don’t own this set yet, you have until the end of this month to purchase it before it is no longer available.  Just click on the set below to get to my store.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will pop over to Kylie’s and not only vote for my card, but check out all the other great cards made using only Stampin’ Up! product.
