Ring in the New

Hi! Thanks for the love on the Hershey Kiss Gift Card box.  I am so happy you liked it so much!  Today, I have a practical gift that would be great for just about anyone.  A desktop calendar and Post-It note holder.

SU! Lovely As A Tree These would be great for teachers and are easy to put together.  The base is a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of Marina Mist card stock folded in half.  While you cannot see it in this picture, there is a support piece in the bottom. It measures 3 x 4 1/4 and is scored on the 3″ side at 1/2″, 1 1/2″ and 2 1/2″.  Valley fold the ends and mountain fold in the middle.  Attach the flaps to both the inside front and inside back of the base.

The pocket for the Post-It Note holder measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/2.  Score the 5 1/2″ side at 1/2, 1″, 4 1/2″ and 5″.  Score the bottom at 1/2″ and 1″.  Trim off the 3 little outer squares on the bottom and use the inside square for a tab.  Place adhesive on the outer most flaps on all 3 sides to adhere to the base.

To decorate, I decided to make a scene using Lovely as A Tree.  Stamp the trees in StaZon ink and then sponge with Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Sky.  To get a better sunrise, create a mask using the 1 1/4″ circle punch (I did mine free-hand – should have used a mask.)

There you go – less than 1 sheet of card stock, a mini calendar and a Post-It Note pad and you have a beautiful gift for a co-worker, friend, teacher or anyone else you can think of!

FYI – if you haven’t checked it out (and even if you did) the Year-End Close Out sale is awesome!  But – did you see ALL of it?  There are many pages to the “Everything Else” category – so make sure when you are visiting my store here you click on “All” in the little pull down shown in the picture below so you don’t miss anything!
