Easter Treat

Hi! Today I have a little Easter Treat Pocket for you which is made using the Sale-A-Bration Pretty Pocket Cards kit!  You can get this kit for FREE with a $50 US purchase (prior to S/H and tax).

SU! Stampin' Up! Pretty Pocket Cards, Basket Bunch

The box is made by taking one of the pocket cards and doing the following:

  1. Score 1/2″ in from the existing score lines (pretty much score at the tip of the arrows).
  2. Score 1/2″ out from the original score line (this is scoring on the back panel – so on one edge – score in from the edge at 1/2″
  3. Score directly below the doily design
  4. Cut 1″ below the score line made in step 3
  5. Create tabs in the middle of the bottom by cutting on the two score lines made in steps 1 & 2.
  6. Add Tear & Tape on the middle tab
  7. Add Tear & Tape on the back side of the flap under the doily (Tear & Tape cannot be shown in the picture below as it goes on the other side)
  8. Assemble box and decorate as desired.

Here is a picture of the pocket card scored and cut:

The sentiment is from the Basket Bunch stamp set and is stamped in Pool Party ink on Whisper White card stock.  My little box holds jelly beans and a little Lindt Chocolate Bunny.

This is one of the projects my guests made last night at the FREE Sale-A-Bration they earned for placing a $50 order in the month of February.

Three new Sale-A-Bration products were released on Tuesday – have you checked them out yet?  Here they are in all their fabulousness!

Sparkly Butterfly

Hi! Today I have a card for you that was inspired by Kylie Bertucci’s card here.

My version uses the Bold Butterfly detailed thinlet to create my mask for my background.  I sponged Watermelon Wonder over my mask.  The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases – I just love the font in that set.  I added a bit of sparkle to my butterfly using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen.  Here is a closer look at that:

I just love how this card turned out!  A little inky, but fun, technique – and a great way to use your dies!

Bear Hug

Today I am playing along in Kylie’s International Blog Highlight and our theme this month is Get Well.   What a wonderful way to cheer someone up when they are feeling down.  You are able to VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so please vote for my project. You can do that here – http://bit.ly/KyliesFebHighlights

SU! Bear Hug

I had to take a look through my stamps to see what I had that would work – and came across this set that I hadn’t used since last year.  This little guy is just so cute and the sentiments in the set just perfect for sending someone a hug when they aren’t feeling well.  The bear is stamped in Chocolate Chip and then die cut using the coordinating framelits.  The sentiment is stamped in Calypso Coral.  I colored my Whisper White solid baker’s twine by dragging it through the Chocolate Chip ink and a sponge dauber.  You can still see some of the white – but I really like how it turned out.  The background paper is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper stack.  I decided to skew my card stock for a fun look.

I hope you enjoyed my project.   Make sure you head over to Kylie’s blog – http://bit.ly/KyliesFebHighlights to vote for my project and see what everyone else has created. I would love to be chosen to do an international blog hop!

Birthday Candles

Hi!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made using the Birthday Brights Project Kit in the Occasions Catalog.

SU! Birthday Brights Project Kit, Birthday Bright

I love shaker cards – they are fun and easy to make with the new foam strips that we sell.  Not to mention, the fun the recipient has when they open the card and shake it up!  This card is made following the directions in the kit – I always like to make one the way it is intended.  I’ll change up some of the others to share with you another day.

The kit contains the confetti for the shaker card as well as the die cut glitter birthday.  Stamps, inks and adhesives are NOT included in the kit.   I did purchase the stamp set as well – because it is very versatile on its own and I can see using it for other cards besides the kit.   What I love about the kit, how quick it is to make the card.  There are just times when we don’t have a lot of time to sit and create, so having this kit on hand makes it easy to whip up a fun card!

If you wish to give this kit a try – just click on the icon below to be taken to my on-line store.  Don’t forget, we are still Sale-A-Brating this month – so your $50 purchase gets you a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

Simply and Sweet

Hi!  Today I have a simple but sweet birthday card to share with you from Saturday night’s Birthday Bash class.

SU! Build a Birthday, Balloon Celebrations

The balloons were punched from the Balloon Bouquet punch – one in Night of Navy, the other in Cucumber Crush.  I used the chalk marker to give the balloons a little dimension.  The strings are stamped in Basic Black Archival ink from the Balloon Celebrations set.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy and is from the Build a Birthday set.  The designer paper is from the 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack.  I heart these paper stacks – you get all the colors in the family and the patterns are perfect for cards – especially when you need something quick!

We are still Sale-A-Brating – earn FREE product with every $50  (US) spent prior to S/H and tax!  Shop my on-line store to earn your FREE goodies today!

Just a reminder that Friday, Feb 10 is the last day to place your order for this month’s Stamp Set of the Month Club.  Details can be found here.

Top Ten Winner Blog Hop

Hi!  So excited for today as I am hopping with the Top 10 Winners from Kylie’s International Project Highlights from December and January!!

Today I have a card I did featuring the Pretty Kitty stamp set.  Being an owner of 3 cats (can’t take 3 kids to a shelter and come home with just one) – I had to have this set when I saw it in the Annual Catalog.  I finally pulled it off the shelf and put it to use.

SU! Pretty Kitty

I just love this little guy – so cute hiding in the flower pot and the sentiment is just perfect for this image.  I used the new Watercolor Pencils to color the image – the flower pot is a blend of Early Espresso and Real Red.  I also added a touch of Early Espresso around the outside of the pot on the bottom for some shading and to anchor it on the card. Without it – it looked like it was floating on the page.  The flowers are colored with Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry.  The leaves were colored in Old Olive.  Given the detail of the image, I used a blender pen to mix and spread the colors.  The kitten is colored with Basic Gray and his ears and nose with Melon Mambo.

I hope you liked today’s card and please continue to hop along to see what everyone else has created.

Which One?

Hi!  I am preparing for tonight’s Birthday Bash class and could use some input.

Which card would you prefer to make if you were attending the class?

SU! Wetlands, High Tide, Masculine Birthday

For both cards I sponged Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky before stamping the image in Early Espresso.  I added the flying birds from High Tide to the card on the right.  The sentiment is also stamped in Early Espresso.

Birthday Blast

Now on to today’s card.

SU! Birthday Blast, masculine

I finally had a chance to play around with the Birthday Blast bundle.  Fun set and I can see lots of uses for it other than birthdays.  It would be great for 4th of July invitations or as a congratulations for any occasion – graduation, new baby, new house – the possibilities are endless!

For my version -I was going for a masculine feel – as I have many male birthdays to celebrate this month in my family.  I decided to give some depth to the card by using dimensionals on the top two layers.   My colors are Sahara Sand, Cherry Cobbler and Dapper Denim.  I also added a little dimension to the stars by dragging the tips over my Cherry Cobbler ink pad.  The sentiment is stamped in Dapper Denim.  Overall, I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  The nice things about this – I have lots of stars I can attach to the inside of the card as well as on the outside of the envelope.

Tarnished Hexagons

Hi!  How are you today?  I hope doing well.  Today I have a few cards featuring a few of the products in the Urban Underground Suite and playing along with this week’s Case the Designer over at Global Design Projects #GDP072 – I rotated the sketch for my cards.  I hope you like them!

SU! Window Dressing, Urban Underground

First up is this Thanks card.  I went back to the Tarnished Foil technique shown in this post.   It is a fun technique and I love the texture it adds to the card.  The sentiment is from the Window Shopping stamp set and is embossed in silver.  The Designer Paper is from the Urban Underground Specialty Pack.  I added a bit of Silver thread behind the sentiment – that is wrapped around my fingers a few times and adhered to the back of the sentiment using snail.  I then pulled and pushed to make it a little less studied.

The second card is a birthday card – I have quite a few male birthdays in the family this month – and think some of them will appreciate this card.

After embossing the panel in the Thanks Card – I realized I wanted more of the StaZon to show – so I applied more of it to the foil before embossing for this card.  I love the mix of the silver tin foil, the black StaZon and the copper embossing.  The sentiment is also from the Window Shopping stamp set.  On this one, I added the metal stars from the Urban Underground Embellishment pack.

I hope you enjoyed today’s projects!
