Hi! Today I am showcasing the Sale-A-Bration set Heartfelt Blooms with the 2016-2018 In Colors!
This stamp set is just gorgeous and I had fun using the Triple Time Stamping Technique to make these cards. If you aren’t familiar with the technique, see below for some pictures to help you.
The 2016-2018 In Colors are retiring at the end of May. I highly recommend stocking up on card stock and re-inkers soon! Take advantage of Sale-A-Bration and earn FREE products while you can!
Here is a closer look at each color:
Dapper Denim:
The ribbon for this card was colored using a sponge dauber and the Dapper Denim ink pad. I hold one end of the ribbon with one hand and drag the ribbon across the pad pushing down with a Sponge dauber. I then flip the ribbon over and repeat on the other side. This Silver trimmed ribbon is just gorgeous and love that I can color it to match my card.
Emerald Envy:
For this card, I only stamped in the two corners – leaving a little bit of white space on the card. The ribbon was colored with the Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends! It is so easy to color AND you only need to color one side as it goes all the way through! Not much drying time needed either!
Flirty Flamingo:
For this card, I aligned the top edge of all three white pieces before stamping. I didn’t add ribbon to this one as I didn’t like any of the placements I had tried.
Peekaboo Peach:
Back to the standard panel layout for this card. I did use the sponge dauber and ink pad technique to color this ribbon in the Peekaboo Peach ink pad. The ribbon is a bit darker as I was having a hard time evening out the color. I do like the contrast for it.
And lastly, Sweet Sugarplum:
I had some fun on this one by skewing the three white panels prior to stamping. I once again used a Stampin’ Blends marker to color the ribbon – in this case I used Light Rich Razzleberry. I’ll be ordering more of this ribbon for sure!
Ok, so here is how to do Triple Time Stamping:
White Layers: 2 x 3 1/4″, 3 x 4 1/4″ and 4 x 5 1/4″
Lay all three layers one on top of the other like this – use a small dab of repositionable tape to hold them in place if need be.
Stamp your image.
You will see some white space where the image didn’t stamp due to the edges of the layers. That is ok – as once you add the mat layers, you will not notice it.
Mat layers: 2 1/4 x 3 1/2″, 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
Base layer: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side and folded on the score line.
Attach the top two white layers to the mat layers and then attach to each other. Add ribbon at this point around these layers.
Attach the largest white layer to the base card stock.
Once you have the dimensions for the stamped layers and mat layers, it is a pretty easy technique.
