Butterflies Fly Away

Hi! Today I am showcasing the Butterfly Basics stamp set that is retiring at the end of May.  This is such a pretty set!  For both cards, I stuck with Island Indigo, Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip for my color palette.

Butterflies, Butterfly Basics, Bold Butterflies, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this card, I did stamp off for the Island Indigo stripe on the left as well as the leaves stamped in Soft Sky.  I also did generational stamping for the leaves – ie, I stamped the leaves twice before reinking the stamp.   Linen thread was wrapped around the hand 3 times, then twisted into a figure 8 before being adhered to the back of the butterfly.  I love the layered look of the butterfly.  A few rhinestones down the center finishes it off.

The dimensions for the card stock are:   Soft Sky base – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.  Chocolate Chip mat – 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Whisper White layer – 3 3/4″ x 5″.

I also made this card using the same color palette and stamp set:

Butterflies, Butterfly Basics, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this card, I used a large post-it note to create a mask for the stamped panel.  I sponged Soft Sky along the left hand edge and then inked the leaves in Soft Sky, stamping off once, before stamping over the sponged area.  After stamping was complete, I removed the post-it note pad.   The butterflies were created in the same manner as in the first card.   To add interest to this card, I added two thin strips of Chocolate Chip cardstock behind the main panel in a diagonal fashion.

The dimensions for this card are: Base – Thick Whisper White – 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″.  Chocolate Chip mat – 4″ x 5 1/4″. Whisper White mat – 3 13/16″ x 5 1/16.   Chocolate Chip strips – 3/16″ x 4 1/4″ (trim off the ends that overhang the panel).  Chocolate Chip mat – 3 7/16″ x 4 11/16.  Whisper White panel – 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″.

Here is the video from the Tuesday’s with Teresa Facebook Live showing a demonstration of these two cards:

Sad Saying Goodbye

Hi!  Today I have a card featuring one of my all time favorite sets in the Annual Catalog – Vintage Leaves.  I am extremely sad to see this set and the coordinating framelits leaving this year.

Vintage Leaves, Leaves, Fall, Thank You, Wood Textures DSP, DSP, #loveitchopit, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this card, I paired the retiring Vintage Leaves stamp set with Wood Words and the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  The leaves are stamped directly on the Wood Textures DSP – I love the added depth it gives the leaves.  Here’s a closer look:

Vintage Leaves, Leaves, Fall, Thank You, Wood Textures DSP, DSP, #loveitchopit, Stampin' Up!, SU!

Even the die cut leaf (die cut using the Seasonal Layers thinlet) is die cut from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  The other leaves were stamped in Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake.

The leaves are layered on a  4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Wood Textures DSP and the base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ of thick Whisper White card stock.

The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip (going to miss this color!) and is from Wood Words stamp set.  This is punched with a 1″ circle punch and layered on a 1 1/4″ circle punch of Cajun Craze card stock.   A bow made from linen thread finishes off the card.

If you haven’t yet purchased the Vintage Leaves stamp set and coordinating Leaflet Framelits, I highly recommend getting them now!  Shop my on-line store and use Hostess Code: 4CKMSHRT  This is a great masculine, Thanksgiving, Thank You, Fall, Thinking of You stamp set.

Love It, Chop It

Hi!  Today I am sharing my creations using the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  If you Love your Designer Series Paper, Chop It – so you can use it!

#loveitchopit, Daisies, Delight Daisy, Daisy Delight, Designer Series Paper, DSP, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I LOVE this paper!  It is so pretty and really doesn’t need much more added to it.  I shared these quick and easy cards with those who qualified for the Sale-A-Bration Celebration party this past month.  They were each given 4 4″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Designer Series Paper, 2 sheets of solid color card stock coordinating with the paper and 1 sheet of Whisper White card stock to make their own versions.

For this set, Calypso Coral is the base for the card stock.  On two of the card Tranquil Tide is used as a mat behind the sentiment.  Given the prettiness of the paper, the other purpose was to showcase larger sentiments.  The Happy Birthday is a single stamp in the catalog.  Thanks Kindly is from One Big Meaning and hello is from  Hello, Friend stamp set.

I also used the coordinating Daisy Delight stamp set on two of the cards.  In both instances, the daisies were stamped in Smoky Slate ink and punched with the coordinating punch.  The centers are circles punched from Tranquil Tide card stock.  A touch of ribbon and linen thread finished off the two outside cards.

Here’s a closer look at a few of the cards:

#loveitchopit, DSP, Delightful Daisy, Happy Birthday, Stampin' Up!, SU!

#loveitchopit, Hello, Hello Friend, Stampin' Up!, DSP, Delightful Daisy, SU!  I am having quite a bit of fun using up Designer Series Paper – it feels good to use it up!  New papers will be coming out soon – and this is a great time to finish up paper and make room for new!!

I hope this inspires you to #loveitchopit and use that gorgeous patterned paper in your stash!

A Little Backpack

Hi!  Today I am sharing the little treat bags I made for On Stage friends.  I had so much fun putting them together!

3D,, Backpacks, Gift Bag Punch Board, Stampin' Up!, SU!,

These little bags are made using the Gift Bag Punch board – a medium sized bag.  A little front pocket was made using the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  The top flaps are a separate piece from the bag.  I didn’t snag a picture of the back, but there  are two ribbons that act as straps  for back of the little backpack.

Here is what was inside these little bags:

Backpacks, Gift Bag Punch Board, Stampin' Up!, SU!

A few little treats, post-it flags, and a mini pen.  I think everyone liked them!

Here are the dimensions for the bag:

6″ x 11″ piece of Cardstock – use the Gift Bag Punch board to make a medium bag. (Do not assemble yet)

Use the 1/8″ hole punch to punch two holes on the back of the bag above the bottom flap.

Cut two pieces of  ribbon 7″ long and knot one end.  Run these through the holes so the knot will be on the inside of the bag.

Assemble the box.

For the top flap, cut a piece of cardstock 3 1/8″ x 2 1/2″.  Score at 1 1/2″ on the 2 1/2″ side.

Punch two holes on the score line 1″ in from each end.  Use a 3″ piece of ribbon through these two holes to create the handle on the top.  Adhere ends down with Tear & Tape to the smaller section created by  the score line.

Use the gift bag punch board to just punch the two ends of the cardstock to create the flap.

Stamp your sentiment on the flap

Punch a hole in the middle of the 1″ side created by the score line for the two ribbons to fit through.

Adhere these two ends down using Tear & Tape.

Attach this 1″ section to the back of the bag to adhere the flap.

For the front pocket, cut a piece of Designer Series Paper  4″ x 2 3/4″.  Score the 4″ side at 1/4″, 1/2″, 3/4″ 3 1/4″, 3 1/2″ and 3 3/4″.  Score the 2 3/4″ side at 1/4″ , 1/2″ and 3/4″.  Cut off the two corners where the score lines intersect.  Fold score lines mountain, valley, mountain and use Mono Multi Glue to attach the three sides to the front of the bag.

For the flap, cut a piece of cardstock at 2 1/2″ x 1 1/4″. Score the 1 1/4″ at 3/4″.   Round the corners on the front and use Tear & Tape to attach the little flap to the front of the bag with the fold over the little pocket.

Use small pieces of Velcro to hold the two flaps down.

Don’t forget, the retirement list is out!  Items are starting to sell out – so don’t delay in getting those orders in – I’d hate for you to not get what you want!

A Few Feathers

Hi! How are you?  Today I am excited to share with you the trio of cards I made using the Feather Together stamp set from the Annual Catalog.

Masculine, Feathers, Thinking of You, Baby Wipes, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Hardwood

I just LOVE these!!  On Tuesday’s with Teresa Facebook Live, I demonstrated how to do the Baby Wipe technique and shared how to make the first and second cards in the picture above.  After the Live Demonstration, I had some feathers that I had stamped and was trying to figure out what to do with them when I came up with the third card.  All three cards use the same basic supplies and technique – but each have a little different look to them.

If you missed my Tuesday with Teresa demonstration,  here it is:

(If you’d like to enter the drawing mentioned in the video,  hop over to my Facebook page and leave a comment on the post featuring this video.)

Here’s a closer look at each card:

Feather Together, Baby Wipe, Hardwood, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this card, the stamped feathers are attached to a Dapper Denim layer which is then scored and folded up over the bottom of the Whisper White.  I distressed the edge with my thumb nail then wrapped the Dapper Denim baker’s twine around the bottom and tied a knot.  The Smoky Slate mat is stamped with the Hardwood Stamp that was inked in Smoky Slate.  The base is Thick Whisper White cardstock.

Feather Together, Hardwood, Baby Wipe, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this one, I just mounted the stamped panel on a Dapper Denim mat and wrapped the Baker’s Twine around three times.  The Hardwood is inked in Smoky Slate and stamped on Whisper White and my base is Smoky Slate.

Feather Together, Hardwood, Baby Wipe, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For the final card, I stamped the feathers on scrap Whisper White and fussy cut them out with Paper Snips.  The Hardwood is inked in Smoky Slate and stamped on Smoky Slate.  This is layered on Dapper Denim and the base is back to the Thick Whisper White.  The sentiment is also stamped from the Baby White to give it a variegated look to match the feather.

I am sad to see this  stamp set on the retiring list!  If you love these cards as much as I do, make sure you purchase it before it is gone for good!  Shop my on-line store with Hostess Code: WZ627AK3 by April 15th and get a FREE Tutorial featuring the Hold on to Hope Bundle!

Wood Textures – A Feminine Look

Edited:  I am so sorry – this was supposed to post on Saturday while I was at On Stage – not sure what happened.  A few days late but here you go!

Hi! Today I have a feminine look for the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

Friend, Wood Textures, Wood Words, Flowers, Stampin' Up! SU!

I am so happy with how this card turned out.  I used the Wood Words and Perennial Birthday stamp sets for this card.  The flower collage on the Wood Texture Designer Series Paper is from Wood Words and is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.  The sentiment is also from that stamp set and stamped in the same color ink on a Whisper White Panel.

For the single flower from the Perennial Birthday set, I used Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke markers to color directly on the stamp before stamping on a scrap of Whisper White card stock.  I then colored in the flower with the Blushing Bride marker and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz.  This was punched out with a 1 3/8″ circle punch and layered on a 1 1/2″ Basic Black circle.

The base is Thick Whisper White card stock cut at 4 1/4 x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.  A piece of Cherry Cobbler measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ is adhered on top of this.  The Wood Textures paper measures 3 3/4″ x 5″.   The sentiment is stamped on  a piece of Whisper White that is 5/8″ x 3 3/4″ and is mounted on a piece of Basic Black that measures 3/4″ x 3 3/4″.

For a little more flare, I wrapped Linen Thread around my hand three times, twisted in the center to make a figure 8 and then adhered to the back of the Basic Black circle before attaching the flower with dimensionals to the base.

I did demonstrate how to make this card in Tuesday, April 3rd, Tuesday with Teresa – Wood Textures and Wood Words – live Facebook Demonstration.  You can watch it here.

Wood Textures- A Masculine Look

Hi! Today I have a card for you featuring the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack.  I LOVE this pack of paper – and find it works for all kinds of cards.  Today I have a masculine card for you.

Wood Textures, Masculine, Birthday, Stampin' Up!, SU!

If you have quite a few Designer Series scraps, this is a great layout to use some of those up!  I created a block layout using 4 different patterns from the stack.  Here are the measurements for each:

  • Upper left -3″ x 2 1/4″
  • Lower left – 3″ x 1 1/2″
  • Upper right – 2″ x 1 3/4″
  • Lower right – 2″ x 2″

These are mounted on a piece of Early Espresso card stock measuring 5 1/4″ x 4″.

I die cut Happy Birthday in both Early Espresso and Whisper White.  I love the “shadow” look obtained by adhering the Whisper White just a little over to the right of the Early Espresso die cut.  The finishing touch is a button from the True Gentleman suite with a small piece of linen thread tied through the holes.

The base of the card is Whisper White thick card stock cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″and scored at 4 1/4″.

I demonstrated how to make this card on this past Tuesday’s session of Tuesday’s with Teresa on my Facebook page.  Look for the video marked – Tuesday’s with Teresa – Wood Texture & Wood Words.

I’ll be back with a different look for the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper in a day or so.

In the meantime, don’t forget that the 2016-2018 In Colors will be retiring soon!  Once the retirement list comes out, these products tend to sell out quickly.  Avoid the rush, and place your order today in my On-Line Store!  Use Hostess Code: WZ627AK3 for orders less than $150 and get a FREE little something from me!

It’s All About Love

Hi!  Welcome to the March International Project Highlight Winner’s Blog Hop!  Thank you so much for voting for me in March’s Highlight!  I made the Top 10 and am able to participate in this month’s Blog Hop!

Our theme is Love and here is the card I made for today:

Anniversary, Love, Garden Trellis, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Sweet & Sassy, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #internatiionalprojecthighlights

Since my winning card was for a wedding, I decided to continue on to an Anniversary!  I wanted warm colors for this card – so used Very Vanilla for the base – 4 1/4 x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″  and the embossed panel.  The embossing is done with the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder and the panel measures 4 x 5 1/4″.

Linen thread is wrapped around the panel.  The hearts are die cut with the Sweet and Sassy Framelits and the edges are sponged with Blushing Bride ink.  A few little pearls are placed along the edge of the heart.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes – a must have in anyone’s collection – and is stamped in Blushing Bride ink.  This is punched out with the Classic Label punch.   It is layered on a Crumb Cake Classic Label punch that was cut in half and attached to the back to provide the edging at the end.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Make sure you hop over to check out the rest of the winner’s posts!

Sand & Shells

Hi! Today I am continuing with my masked background shown last week – this time featuring the So Many Shells set.

Friendship, Shells, Beach, So Many Shells, Stampin' Up!, SU! Masking

For this card, I created a rectangular mask with the Stampin’ Trimmer.  The mask measured  3 3/4″ x 5″ and I measured in 3/4″ on the sides and 1″ in for the top and bottom.  The background was created by sponging Sahara Sand in the lower left corner followed by Soft Sky and ending with Marina Mist.

The shells are stamped with Crumb Cake for the more detailed shell and Blushing Bride for the 2nd step.  Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen was used to color over the shells to give them a little sparkle.  The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

I do love this technique – and wanted to show it could be used for any type of card.  I hope you give it a try!

Make sure you stop back tomorrow – I’ll be hopping with the Top 10 from March’s International Project Highlights!  So excited!
