A Simple Thanks

Thanks, Rooted In Nature, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

The colors for this card are Gray Granite, Terracotta Tile and Pear Pizzazz.  The stamp set is Rooted in Nature and the sentiment is from Free As a Bird.  I embossed the panel with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder after stamping the leaves on it.

Circle of Life

Hi!  Welcome to the Stamp It Group August Blog Hop featuring Fall!!  I am very excited to be a part of the Blog Hop this month as it has been a while since I’ve been able to participate.  I have a little different spin for you today featuring the Life is Beautiful Stamp set from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog.

Hello, Friendship, Fall, Life is Beautiful, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AugDecMini, #StampItBlogHop

So, my twist on this card – there are two.  First, I used the tree image as a branch – I love to do this – so many fun things to do when turned sideways.  The second – I didn’t have a circle die large enough to create a mat for the stamped image so instead I die cut 3 smaller circles from various cardstock and used them to create a mat.  I love how it turned out!  Oh and 3rd, I used my Stampin’ Blend – Cajun Craze – color the rhinestones on the card.

Here’s a video showing how I made the card (it is the second card in the video):

Leave a comment below and you will be entered into a drawing to win this fabulous card kit!  Make sure to include #stampitcontest with the comment.

Then And Now

Hi!  I realized recently that I had started my Facebook Business Page ten years ago back in July.  I went looking through some of those projects from then and came across this card:

House of Haunts, Halloween, Stampin' Up!, SU!,

This features the House of Haunts Halloween set, Old Olive cardstock – I think Daffodil Delight -but not sure, and of course Basic Black.   This was the age before I learned how to improve my photos – so this is an as is picture – I think I used a scanner.

Apparently, I still have a thing for Owls and Trees for Halloween, as I recently made this card during a Facebook Live:

Have a Hoot, Halloween, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #AugDec2020Mini

I guess in 10 years I have stepped up my game a little with card making – a few more layers, die cuts, Designer Series Paper.  Tho still using masking to create my moon for the owl.

Here’s the video showcasing this card (and a quick little treat holder, too):

I truly enjoy taking a trip down memory lane and hope you do, too.   While I cannot supply you with the products used to make the card 10 years ago, below you will find the list of products for my most recent Owl in a Tree.

Because Adulting Is Hard

Hi!   Today I have a fun card using the Nothing’s Better Than bundle in the Annual Catalog.  Such a fun bundle if you haven’t checked it out yet.

Cocktails, Friends, Humor, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Nothings Better Than, #2020AnnualCatalog

Love this sentiment – and oh, at times so true!  This little cocktail is so easy to stamp with the 2-step Photopolymer set.  I went with bright and cheery – using Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight for my colors.  I decided to punch circles to host my focal point of the glass.  The sentiment in the lower right was creating using the new Banners Pick-A-Punch in the August-December mini catalog.   The Subtle Texture Embossing Folder was used on the 3 7/8 x 5 1/8″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  Basic Black measuring 4 1/16″ x 5 5/16″ is a mat for Whisper White and the base is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half.

I have a few friends that I think would get a kick out of receiving this card – how about you?

We are winding down the month of August and thus the end of August Bonus Day Redemptions – make sure you use those coupons earned in July!  Also, for those who live in Massachusetts, this weekend is Tax Free weekend – and everything in the Stampin’ Up! catalog qualifies for Tax Free!

Hello Sunshine!

Hi!  Happy Monday!!  I had so much fun Friday night at the Mystery Stamp night and decided to start the week with the card layout I used.  Huge thanks to Kim Quade at Kim Plays with Paper for the inspiration.

Fun Fold, Hello, Under My Umbrella, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog, #2020InColor, #MysteryStamping

Isn’t this a fun layout!  The stamped image is a flap and a layer behind to write your message!   For this card, I used the Under My Umbrella stamp set.  The images were stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with Stampin Blends – Real Red, So Saffron, Seaside Spray and Old Olive.  The sentiment is stamped in the new Misty Moonlight In Color ink.  I used the Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles for the sentiment.    A piece of Misty Moonlight In Color Twill Ribbon finishes it off.

The Designer Series Paper is from the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper pack.

Here are the dimensions:

  • Base – Misty Moonlight – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Designer Series Paper – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Flap – Misty Moonlight – 3″ x 8 1/2″ – score at 4 1/4″
  • Image Panel – Whisper White – 2 3/4″ x 4″ (need 2 – one for the inside)

Assembly:

  • Attach Designer Series Paper to the base
  • Attach the Flap to the Designer Series Paper (centered would be 1 1/4″ from each end)
  • Attach the Image panel to the top of the flap
  • Attach the second panel to the inside

If you wanted to save on Designer Series Paper – you could cut two strips that are 1 1/8″ x 4″ to place on each side of the flap once attached to the base.

I have so many fun ideas for this layout – I can’t wait to try them out!

I host Mystery Stamping Zoom Meetings the 3rd Friday of the month – I hope you will consider joining me in September!

A Saturday Smile

Hi!  How are you today?  Any fun plans for the weekend?  Not sure what’s on my plate this weekend – probably a little cleaning, gardening and hopefully some crafting.     Hopefully this bright and cheery card will bring a smile to your face on this sunny Saturday morning.

Smile, Flowers, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog, Lovely You

I went with the Brights Color Family for this card with Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana.   The images are stamped marandomly in the lower right corner of Whisper White cardstock.  A 1 1/4″ circle is stamped with flowers and layered behind the sentiment which is heat embossed in White Embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock.  I love the popped look of the sentiment.

The base of the card is Thick Whisper White cardstock – measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.  A piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock measuring 4 1/16″ x 5 5/16″ is layered behind the stamped panel.  All images are from the Lovely You stamp set and the sentiment is punched with the coordinating Lovely Labels Pick-A-Punch.  I highly recommend the bundle – but if nothing else – get the punch – you’ll be glad you did!  The punch has two different styles and each style has 3 different options based on the width of the cardstock – 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″.  A must have for all papercrafters.

Enjoy your Saturday and thanks for stopping in!

At The Seashore

Hi!  Decided since it was still summer, I should focus on the present and made this card using the Seaside Notions stamp set.

Smile, Friendship, Seaside Notions, Block Watercoloring, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

I do love walking on the beach looking for shells so couldn’t resist this stamp set.  The background is made by applying ink to a clear block – in this case, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry then spritzing with water and laying the block on the Whisper White background.  Let it dry completely.

For the Seahorse, I used Bermuda Bay and Balmy Blue watercolor pencils and a Blender Pen.  The shells are a mix of Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler watercolor pencils and a blender pen.  Each of the three elements were fussy cut with Paper Snips.   I added a bit of dazzle to the Seahorse using the Wink of Stella Clear brush:

Glitter, Friendship, Wink of Stella, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I thought it was a nice touch for that sparkly water look.

The sentiment is from Lovely You.

I hope you enjoyed this little trip to the beach today!

Autumn Harvest

Hi!  Today I have a card using the new Autumn Goodness bundle from the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog.   What says fall more than this autumn harvest?

Fall, Autumn Goodness, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #AugDec2020MiniCatalog

I love coloring with our Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen – so fun and easy to do.  The harvest image is stamped in Soft Suede ink.  You could also go with a lighter ink color for a softer look.  I used a mix of both the Watercolor Pencils and Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.

The Wheelbarrow is stamped with Early Espresso ink and then I used a blender pen to color in the image – this allowed me to pull the ink from the stamped image giving it a deeper wood grain look.

For the background, I just dragged an Old Olive and Balmy Blue ink pad over the cardstock.  A very quick way to produce a background.  The fence is die cut from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The base is Crumb Cake cardstock – measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and folded in half.  The image panel is Whisper White – 3 3/4″ x 5″ mounted on an Early Espresso mat measuring 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.

If you want to see how I colored and created the background, check out this video:

Hello Monday

Hi!  Here’s to Monday – the start of a new day where anything can happen.  Last month I held my first Mystery Stamp night, and boy was it fun!  How does it work?  A few days before the event, I post a supply list of the materials that you will need – from card stock, type of stamp set, how many ink colors, embellishments, etc.   Then, during the Zoom meeting – yes, it is a live event through Zoom, I give you step by step directions to make the project.  In the end, we share our cards.   Here is mine:

Forever Fern, Hello, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog, #2020InColors

A panel card – where your stamped pieces are first stamped all as one piece and then cut apart.  The images are from Forever Fern.  For this card, I used the new Misty Moonlight and BumbleBee In Colors paired with the ever faithful Old Olive.  The sentiment was punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a punch.

I’ll be hosting another Mystery Stamp night this Friday and I’ll be posting the supply list on Wednesday.  The event is posted on my Facebook page.  However, if you aren’t on Facebook and you’d like to participate, please send me an email at teresasstampinspot@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to email you the supply list and Zoom meeting link later this week.

Ouch!

Hi!  How are you?   Today I have a card I made with the Back On Your Feet stamp set from the 2020 Annual Catalog.  This is such a great set for those who need a pick me up going through a hard time.

Back On Your Feet, Get Well, Pick Me Up, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

I tried out the 2019-2021 Rococo Rose In Color – a color I haven’t played with much tho I’ve had it since it came out.  I do like the soft look of it – so I’ll be using it a bit more.

The sloth is colored using Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends marker and the limb with Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.  The bandage is Rococo Rose.  I don’t have color with the Stampin’ Blends – I’m not that good – but I am pretty happy with how this turned out.

The background is created using the Old World Paper Embossing Folder – I really like the texture it gives to the card.  The leaves are from the Birds and More Die Set.

The sentiment banner is created with the new Banner Pick-A-Punch in the August-December Mini Catalog.

Don’t forget August is Redeem Your Bonus Day Coupon month!  You can redeem them in my On-Line store by clicking the Shop button on the right.
