For The Coffee Lovers

Hi!  Today I have a card for the coffee lovers out there.  One of the first bundles I purchased from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog was the Nothing’s Better Than bundle.  This is such a great bundle and sparks so many ideas.  Coffee, Love, Nothings Better Than, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

This would make a great Valentine’s Day card!  The heart background is made using Pool Party Cardstock and the Detailed Hearts die.  The words are die cut from Blushing Bride, Petal Pink, Rococo Rose and Early Espresso Cardstock.   The cup is stamped in Blushing Bride and Early Espresso inks.  The splats are Pool Party.  A layer of Pool Party Designer Series Paper is placed behind the Basic White stamped image panel.  The base of the card is Early Espresso.

I am not a coffee drinker -but I do love chocolate – so for my Valentine’s Day card, I believe I’ll switch it up using the chocolate image in this bundle.  What about you?  Coffee or chocolate lover?

The purchase of the Nothing’s Better Than Bundle and Detailed Hearts die together earns you a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!   Shop today to take advantage of this great deal!

As Promised

Hi!  As promised, today I will share one more layout for using those three strips of Designer Series Paper shown yesterday.  While I used the same stamp set, I did change up the color palette.

Thank You, Dragonfly Garden, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JanJune2021Mini, #dspscrapsThe Designer Series Paper is from the Dandy Garden Designer Series 6″x6″ pack.   I went with Mossy Meadow and Bumble Bee as my color palette for this card.  The Designer Paper strips are staggered behind the stamped panel.

I did enlarge the Bumble Bee layer and added a Basic White layer to add a bit of stamping.  The dragonflies are stamped in Bumble Bee and the sentiment in Mossy Meadow.  The sentiment is part of the Dragonfly Garden stamp set.

If you are looking for another layout using strips, check out this past post – it is also a fun layout to use up scraps.

I would like to thank those of you who have placed orders with me this month and are taking advantage of earning those FREE Sale-A-Bration products!  Just a reminder, that every $50 you spend prior to S/H and tax will earn you a FREE exclusive Sale-A-Bration product.  Shop today to earn yours!

Three Little Strips

Hi!  How are you today?  Me, I am on top of the world!  Thank you so much to those who commented on Saturday’s post – either directly on the post or via email.  You truly made my day and my heart full.

Today, I have a card using the Dragonfly Garden Bundle from the January-June Mini Catalog.  I heart Dragonflies and Butterflies and have a hard time resisting suites that contain them.

Dragonflies, Friendship, Just Because, Dragonfly Garden, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #DSP, #JanJune2021Mini

I love the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper – the colors are so me!  I wanted to share how you can use strips of Designer Series Paper to enhance your creations.

For this card, the strips are all 1″ wide.  The two shorter ones are 3 1/4″ in length and the bumble bee strip is 4″ in length.   The dragonfly is punched from a different piece of Designer Series Paper in the pack.  The colors are Misty Moonlight and Bumble Bee.   The sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight.   I did add a touch of sparkle to the dragonfly with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (hard to see in the picture – will try and highlight that next time I do it).

For this second card, I rotated the design to be portrait.

Dragonflies, Friendship, Just Because, Dragonfly Garden, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #DSP, #JanJune2021Mini

While all supplies measure the same, I did feel like I had a bit more white space, so I also stamped the small grouping of dragonflies in the along the right hand edge in Bumble Bee.

Here are the full measurements:

  • Base – Misty Moonlight – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and folded
  • Basic White – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Two strips of Designers Series Paper – 1″ x 3 1/4″
  • One strip of Designer Series Paper – 1″ x 4″
  • Bumble Bee – 2″ x 2 3/4″
  • Scraps of Designer Series Paper or Basic White – either punch dragonflies from Designer Series Paper or stamp on Basic White and punch

Don’t be afraid to alter the layout or sketch – it is fun to get those creative juices flowing.  I’ll share another layout using the strips tomorrow.

The Dragonfly Garden Bundle is part of the Dandy Garden Suite.  I hope you will check it out in my on-line store!

Thanks for stopping by!

Forever Fern Meets Fancy Fold

Hi!  I have a fun fold card to share with you today using my favorite set – Forever Fern.

Forever Fern, Fancy Fold, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

For this card, you will need the following:

  • Base Cardstock measuring 5 1/2″ x 7 1/4″ – score at 3″ on the 7 1/4″
  • Flap Cardstock measuring 3 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ – score at 1/4″ on the 3 1/2″ side
  • Basic White measuring 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Basic White measuring 3″ x 3″
  • Designer Series Paper measuring 5 1/4″ x 2 3/4″

To assemble, attach the 1/4″ tab of the Flap Cardstock to the back of the Basic White 5 1/4″ x 4″ – centered along the 5 1/4″ edge.   Attach this piece of Basic White to the Base Cardstock to the right of the 3″ score line.   Fold the Base Cardstock on the score line to create the front.   Attach the Designer Series Paper to the front flap of the base cardstock.  Fold the 3 1/4″ flap on the front.   Use a design element to tuck the corner of the flap in – in the card above, I used the stamped leaves and two die cut leaf bunches popped on dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock and the leaf and flowers in Pretty Peacock, Gray Granite and Pear Pizzazz inks.   The base cardstock is Gray Granite.

The Designer Series Paper on the left is from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper Pack.

I hope you will give this Fun Fold a try.  If you have any questions on the directions, please let me know.

Don’t forget we are Sale-A-Brating and you can earn a FREE product with every $50 purchase (prior to S/H and tax).

Chirp, Chirp

These sweet little birds want to say Hello!

Quite Curvy, Hello, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JanJune2021Mini

This card features the Quite Curvy bundle in the January-June Mini Catalog.  You may have purchased it during last year’s sneak peek promotion, but if not, you can definitely get it now.

There are some fun dies in this set allowing you to get that curve through the card.  While I could have placed a sentiment (there are curvy ones in the stamp set) in the opening, I opted to use the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog.  I love the texture this paper adds to the card.

The birds and flowers are stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with Stamping Blends – Rococo Rose, Just Jade, and Daffodil Delight for the flowers, and Crumb Cake and Ivory for the birds.

These are die cut with the coordinating dies.  The branch in the corner is die cut from Just Jade card stock.

The base of the card is Whisper White Thick (for which Basic White Thick can be used).  A mat layer in Rococo Rose (which will retire on May 3) sits behind a layer of Whisper White that was Embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder and then die cut with one of the curvy dies.

The sentiment is also stamped in Memento Black ink.

I hope this little birds bring a bit of cheer to your day.

Oh So Sweet

Hi!  How are you today?  Did you see yesterday’s post about all the new products?  What are you most excited for?   I love playing with new products and had some fun yesterday with the new Sweet Strawberry Bundle in the January-June mini catalog.

Birthday, Sweet Strawberry, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JanJune2021Mini

I had made this card for a swap and used a layout from the August-December Mini for my sketch.  The set is very versatile and has sentiments as well as images.  There are outline images as well as solid images, so you can color or just do 2-step stamping as I did on this card.

I recommend stamping the solid image first in Real Red ink.  Then stamp the outline image on top with Cherry Cobbler.  These are then colored with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen (hard to see in this picture).   The leaves are also 2-step stamping using Pear Pizzazz for the solid stamp and Old Olive for the outline.  Both images are punched with the coordinating punch.

The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive as well.  The Everyday Label punch provides the common element for all three panels.

I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock  2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  This is layered with a piece of Whisper White measuring 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ and die cut with the Ornate Border dies.   A piece of stitched Real Red ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo pack finishes off the card.

I already sent a few of these beauties to some January birthday ladies.

If you would like to recreate this card, the supplies and links to my store are listed below.  Don’t forget, you can pick a FREE Sale-A-Bration item if your purchase reaches $50 prior to S/H and tax.

A Touch of Copper

Hi!  Today I have a card for you featuring the Evergreen Embossing Folder from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog.  (By the way, the catalog ends on January 4 – so make sure you pick up those must haves before they are gone for good!).

I love this Embossing Folder and felt it really didn’t need much more to make a Christmas card.  The details of the trees are just beautiful.  To make it really pop, I added a piece of Copper Foil to the Very Vanilla layer before running it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.

To match the Copper Foil, I embossed the sentiment – which is from the Snow Wonder stamp set also found in the August-December mini catalog.  As we don’t have Copper Embossing powder, I used Cinnamon Cider ink.  To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Ink the stamp in Versamark Ink
  2. Ink the stamp in Cinnamon Cider Ink
  3. Stamp on Very Vanilla scrap
  4. Sprinkle on Clear Embossing Powder
  5. Heat set with heat tool
  6. If doing multiple, make sure you clean your stamp before reinking in Versamark to keep your Versamark pad clean.

The sentiment is die cut with a Stitched Rectangle die.  A few Elegant Faceted Gems finishes the card.

I could easily see using this folder for masculine birthday cards, sympathy cards or even thinking of you.

Don’t forget to check out the Year End Blow-Out Sale for retiring August-December Mini products.  It ends on January 4th!
