Petal Palette Clean & Simple

Hi!  How are you?  I hope you are doing well!  Sorry for not posting for a few days – ended up out of town for a business trip and wasn’t able to get a post written before I left.

Today I have a clean and simple card featuring the Petal Palette stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.

Thank You, Thanks, Petal Palette, Stampni' Up!, SU!, 2018Occasions

I love the clean look of this card!  I typically struggle with CAS (Clean and Simple) cards, but am very happy with how this one turned out.  The flowers are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The leaves are colored with the Old Olive Duo Pack and the flowers with Pink Pirouette and Cherry Cobbler Dark Blends.  I love that you can see just a hint of the Pink Pirouette in the flower petals.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark on Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  I used a small scrap of Berry Burst card stock punched with the Ribbon punch to tuck underneath.  A few Rose Red Regal Enamel shapes to accent the sentiment and there you have it.

For the layers, Thick Whisper White is used for the base and is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.  A Basic Black layer 5 1/4″ x 4″ is adhered to the base while the stamped  panel is Whisper White cardstock measuring 5″ x 3 3/4″.

An easy enough card to mass produce if you are in need of quite a few.   Change out the sentiment to make it a Birthday or Congratulations card!

In Color Blooms

Hi!  Today I am showcasing the Sale-A-Bration set Heartfelt Blooms with the 2016-2018 In Colors!

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up1, SU!

This stamp set is just gorgeous and I had  fun using the Triple Time Stamping Technique to make these cards.  If you aren’t familiar with the technique, see below for some pictures to help you.

The 2016-2018 In Colors are retiring at the end of May.  I highly recommend stocking up on card stock and re-inkers soon!  Take advantage of Sale-A-Bration and earn FREE products while you can!

Here is a closer look at each color:

Dapper Denim:

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up1, SU!

The ribbon for this card was colored using a sponge dauber and the Dapper Denim ink pad.  I hold one end of the ribbon with one hand and drag the ribbon across the pad pushing down with a Sponge dauber.  I then flip the ribbon over and repeat on the other side.  This Silver trimmed ribbon is just gorgeous and love that I can color it to match my card.

Emerald Envy:

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!
For this card, I only stamped in the two corners – leaving a little bit of white space on the card.  The ribbon was colored with the Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends!  It is so easy to color AND you only need to color one side as it goes all the way through!  Not much drying time needed either!

Flirty Flamingo:

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this card, I aligned the top edge of all three white pieces before stamping.   I didn’t add ribbon to this one as I didn’t like any of the placements I had tried.

Peekaboo Peach:

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

Back to the standard panel layout for this card.  I did use the sponge dauber and ink pad technique to color this ribbon in the Peekaboo Peach ink pad.  The ribbon is a bit darker as I was having a hard time evening out the color.  I do like the contrast for it.

And lastly, Sweet Sugarplum:

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I had some fun on this one by skewing the three white panels prior to stamping.  I once again used a Stampin’ Blends marker to color the ribbon – in this case I used Light Rich Razzleberry.   I’ll be ordering more of this ribbon for sure!

Ok, so here is how to do Triple Time Stamping:

White Layers: 2 x 3 1/4″, 3 x 4 1/4″ and 4 x 5 1/4″

Lay all three layers one on top of the other like this – use a small dab of repositionable tape to hold them in place if need be.

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

Stamp your image.

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

You will see some white space where the image didn’t stamp due to the edges of the layers.  That is ok – as once you add the mat layers, you will not notice it.

Mat layers:  2 1/4 x 3 1/2″, 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″

Base layer: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at  4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side and folded on the score line.

Attach the top two white layers to the mat layers and then attach to each other.  Add ribbon at this point around these layers.

Thanks, Cards, DIY Papercrafting, Heartfelt Blooms, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

Attach the largest white layer to the base card stock.

Once you have the dimensions for the stamped layers and mat layers, it is a pretty easy technique.

If Life Gives You Lemons

Hi! How are you today?  I am doing pretty good – it is a gorgeous day!  I have a summery card for you today inspired by Brigitte Keiling.

Lemon Zest, Summer, SU!, Stampin' Up!, Cards, DIY

I loved her colors and layout so had to make my own version.  Doesn’t this just bring a smile to your face?

I did add Clear Wink of Stella to the lemons so they have that sparkle you see when you cut into one.  Here is a better view:

The colors are Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight.  The leaves are stamped in Wild Wasabi.   I had created a mask to sponge my background – makes it very easy for mass production.  I made these cards to put into orders from a recent workshop.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.  I forgot to take a picture of the inside – but I did add a layer of Whisper White card stock, stamped the sentiment “Squeeze it for all it’s worth” and added the other half of the cut lemon to the inside bottom left corner.

What do you think?  Ready for an icy cold glass of lemonade?  I sure am!

Fun With Embossing Paste!

Hi!  Today I have a card I made using the new Embossing Paste!!  I love it!

Lift Me Up, Embossing Paste, SU!, Stampin' Up!

Those clouds just pop off the page!  Have you tried the Embossing Paste yet?  If not, do NOT wait!! It is so fun and easy to use!  Here is what I did:

  1. Lay a template – this is the Cloud Template from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.  Use painter’s tape or a sticky note to keep the cardstock and template in place.
  2. Use a palette knife to spread the Embossing Paste over the template.  If you only want partially – you can mask the template with scrap paper so only the clouds you want to emboss are open.
  3. Scrape off the excess paste and put it back in the jar.
  4. Let dry.  This is pretty quick.  While it is drying, you can work on the rest of your project.

For this card, I decided to finally pull out the Lift Me Up stamp set which thankfully carried over from the Occasions Catalog to the 2017-18 Annual Catalog.   I stamped the two hot air balloon images from the set in Crushed Curry and die cut with the coordinating dies.

For the main hot air balloon, I used the Color Theory Designer Series Paper stack and Dapper Denim Cardstock.   I love how the different sizes of balloons gives a sense of depth to the card.

So, what do you think?  Are you going to give Embossing Paste a try?  I sure hope so!  If you don’t have any, why don’t you hop over to my on-line store and order some today!  Just click here.  Don’t forget the masks and palette knives!  (And that a $50 (US) order prior to S/H and tax earns you $5 BONUS DAYS coupon!)

A Little Shelter

Hi!  Last week I saw this card by Jen Timko and loved the layout – so wanted to give it a try.   Here is what I came up with:

Stampin' Up! SU! Weather Together

I love how it turned out!  The clean look is just striking.  I used the Weather Together bundle for the umbrella and sentiment.  The Designer Series Paper behind the umbrella is from the Cupcakes and Carousels paper stack.  As Jen did, I also layered a piece of vellum over the designer paper to mute it a little more.   My colors are Peekaboo Peach and Soft Suede.

I’d love to know what you think!

Happy Birthday Balloons

Hi!  Welcome to the weekend!  Today I have a card that was a Make & Take at the Stamp/Scrap the Day Away last weekend.  It features the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper:

This pack of Designer Series Paper is so bright and cheerful – making it perfect for birthday cards!  The sentiment is the single stamp – Stylized Birthday – and is perfect for both male and female cards.  I also love the single glittery balloon – that was made with the Sale-A-Bration glimmer paper – which unfortunately – is sold out.  However, you could sponge any color on the Dazzling Diamond glimmer paper to recreate this card.  The strings are made from the Thick Bermuda Bay twine.  These cards are quick to make – so if you are looking for a cute design for mass production – look no further.

There is just 1 week left to Sale-A-Brate.  Two more products have sold out – the Seaside and Sparkle Embossing folders are no longer available.    I’d get that order in before everything is gone if I were you!  Happy shopping!

Best Fishes

Hi!  Did you know that there are some great layouts that work wonderfully for using up your Designer Series Paper scraps?  I decided to play along with one of the layouts for today’s post.

SU! Jar of Love, By the Shore

Isn’t this a great layout? You could do varying widths and lengths and use any Designer Paper that you want! The Designer Paper used on this card is By the Shore.  The sentiment and fish are from the Jar of Love stamp set.  I have quite a few birthday cards to send out this month and this will be one of them.

Since I already had strips of the Designer Paper laying around, I also made this card – just flipped two of the strips over to the other side:

SU! Jar of Love, By the Shore

Literally, I spent 15 minutes to make both cards.  Very quick – but still – very cute!

And, to top it off, Stampin’ Up! is having a special on select Designer Series Paper this month – buy 3 packs of any of these papers, and get a 4th FREE!  Mix and match – they don’t all have to be the same!  Who doesn’t love a deal!

dspoct2016

Here are a few other layout ideas to use those scraps:

I’ll have to give the other 2 layouts a try another day.  Off to start my day!

Catty Kick-off Party

Hi!  I held my New Catalog Kick-off Party on Saturday night and what a blast it was!!  At least I had a great time and I think everyone else did as well.

BrianP

I had a special guest in attendance at the event – Brian Pilling from the Stampin’ Up! home office was here to observe the event.  I was very excited to be chosen to participate in the research he and his team are doing.  I’ll admit to being a little nervous to start, but once the party got started, I was too busy with the guests.  He spent time talking to the attendees and just sitting back and observing and listening to what everyone was doing.  Hopefully his observations and recording of my event will help!

I had a few small gifts for attendees, a little box of chocolates and an In Color Bookmark.  Here is this year’s version:

SU! Swirly Bird, SU! In Colors 2016-18

The Swirly Bird is one of my favorite sets!  (Can you tell from a previous post?)  The In Colors are fun and fresh!  The little branch is die cut from the Flourish Thinlet dies.

Here is the Make & Take using the Confetti Celebrations stamp set and Peekaboo Peach In Color:

SU! Confetti Celebration

A few of the other In Colors make an appearance here as well as the garland is coloring using the markers.

And a few more pictures – shopping the retirement sale:Retired

and stamping – I also had set up three past Paper Pumpkin kits for attendees to try out:

Hope you enjoyed my little peek into the Kick-off Party!

Time for a Sail

Hi!  How are you today on this sunny day? I am busy getting ready for this Saturday’s New Catty Kickoff Party – so excited for it!  If you are local to Northboro, MA and wish to come, it is from 7-9pm Saturday night.  Just shoot me a quick email and let me know!

With the approach of summer, I thought it fitting to make a sail  boat using the Swirly Bird stamp set.  This set is so versatile – you need it in your collection – along with the matching framelits.

SwirlyBoat_small_wm

The base of the boat is stamped in the new Emerald Envy In Color.  The boat sails are Soft Sky and Dapper Denim – a great color pairing.  The little flag atop the sail is Real Red.  The sun is made from the medium swirl stamp and inked in Daffodil Delight.  I used the coordinating framelits with Dapper Denim card stock to make my water.  The sentiment is from the new Thoughtful Banner set and coordinating punch.

So how about it? Ready for a sail?
