Falling Flowers

Hi!  Back today with a set of cards I made featuring the retiring Falling Flowers, coordinating dies, and the retiring In Colors 2017-2019.

Falling Flowers, In Colors 2017-2019, Stampin' Up!, Thank You

I just love these colors paired with Gray Granite.  I think Gray Granite is my new favorite Neutral color.  I’ve used it so much lately.  For today’s cards, I used the retiring In Color 2017-2019 collection – Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig.  I tried to add Lemon Lime for the leaves, but really didn’t like it – so I switched to staying with just the one In Color on each card as my pop of color on Gray Granite.

The flowers are all embossed in Clear Embossing powder on Whisper White Card stock.  For the large flower, I first colored them by picked up ink with the Aqua Painter and watercoloring.  Then I went over each of the flowers using a brayer and the same ink color – this allowed for a lighter shade of the ink on the outside of the flowers.  For the medium sized flower, I brayered ink on first, then used a clean AquaPainter to remove some of the ink.  In this way, I have a darker outside to a lighter petal color.  For the smallest flowers, I colored with the marker then did a quick brayer over each.

Here is a closer view of the Tranquil Tide card:

Falling Flowers, Thank You, Thankful Thoughts, In Color 2017-2019, Stampin' Up!

I love how you can obtain different looks and shades using one ink pad.

To finish off the card, I stamped the leaves in Gray Granite in the top left.  I also used the Gray Granite marker and flecked each card.

The sentiment is stamped in the same In Color Ink used in the flowers on Gray Granite card stock then punched with the Classic Label punch.  This is layered on a Classic Label punch out of the same In Color that is cut in half.  The small flowers and the sentiment are attached using dimensionals.

I am sad to see this stamp set and die set leaving -these flowers are so pretty.  If you don’t have them yet, hurry before the are gone for good!  Just click on the product below to go to my on-line store and place your order.  Don’t forget to get your re-inker and card stock for those retiring colors as well!

Friendship, Sand Dollars, Sea of Texture, Thoughtful Banners, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #internationalprojecthighlights

I just LOVE the Sea of Textures suite!  From the fun and quirky to the soft and subtle, this suite has it all!    I did a little watercoloring for the background as well as splattering with a marker.  The sand dollars and coral are die cuts from the coordinating framelits.  My sentiment is formed using words from the Thoughtful banners set.

In the Sea

Hi! Today I have a card showcasing the Tranquil Textures Suite in the new catalog!  The Sea of Textures Stamp set and dies are so  fun to play with!

Thanks, Octopus, Sea of Textures, Stampin' Up!, SU!, 2018AnnualCatalog

I demonstrated this card on Tuesday with Teresa Facebook Live yesterday.  I love all the different elements on this card along with the color combination!  The three main colors are Fresh Fig, Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide.

The base of the card is Mint Macaron.  A piece of Designer Series Paper from the Tranquil Textures pack is mounted on that at a skewed angle.

A Watercolor Wash technique using the three colors was applied to a piece of Watercolor Paper.   The net behind the octopus is die cut with the coordinating dies from Crumb Cake card stock.  The octopus is Fresh Fig which is first stamped on scrap paper, then on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. He is die cut using the coordinating die.   The sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink.  The octopus is attached using dimensionals.

The finishing touch is thick Baker’s Twine using the Nature’s Twine collection.

Here’s the video – it is the second card:

Love It, Chop It

Hi!  Today I am sharing my creations using the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.  If you Love your Designer Series Paper, Chop It – so you can use it!

#loveitchopit, Daisies, Delight Daisy, Daisy Delight, Designer Series Paper, DSP, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I LOVE this paper!  It is so pretty and really doesn’t need much more added to it.  I shared these quick and easy cards with those who qualified for the Sale-A-Bration Celebration party this past month.  They were each given 4 4″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Designer Series Paper, 2 sheets of solid color card stock coordinating with the paper and 1 sheet of Whisper White card stock to make their own versions.

For this set, Calypso Coral is the base for the card stock.  On two of the card Tranquil Tide is used as a mat behind the sentiment.  Given the prettiness of the paper, the other purpose was to showcase larger sentiments.  The Happy Birthday is a single stamp in the catalog.  Thanks Kindly is from One Big Meaning and hello is from  Hello, Friend stamp set.

I also used the coordinating Daisy Delight stamp set on two of the cards.  In both instances, the daisies were stamped in Smoky Slate ink and punched with the coordinating punch.  The centers are circles punched from Tranquil Tide card stock.  A touch of ribbon and linen thread finished off the two outside cards.

Here’s a closer look at a few of the cards:

#loveitchopit, DSP, Delightful Daisy, Happy Birthday, Stampin' Up!, SU!

#loveitchopit, Hello, Hello Friend, Stampin' Up!, DSP, Delightful Daisy, SU!  I am having quite a bit of fun using up Designer Series Paper – it feels good to use it up!  New papers will be coming out soon – and this is a great time to finish up paper and make room for new!!

I hope this inspires you to #loveitchopit and use that gorgeous patterned paper in your stash!

Don’t forget the retired lists are out and some items have already sold out!  Get those orders in before you lose out!   There is also a color revamp happening and 13 current colors are retiring!  Get those reinkers and card stock soon!  Here’s  a list of the current retiring colors:

Go For Greece Training Group Blog Hop

Hi! Today I am playing along in the Go For Greece Training Group Blog Hop!  I joined this group this year to work on building my business and earn a trip to GREECE!!  I still have a long way to go to earn the trip, but through sales, recruiting and team building, I am making some head way.

For today’s card, I am showcasing the Eclectic Expressions Sale-A-Bration stamp set.

Dragonfly, Thank You, Circles, Eclectic Expressions, Stampin' Up!, SU!, 2018SAB

I just LOVE this card – from the color combination to the layout – it is one of my favorites that I created for last Friday’s Sale-A-Bration Gone Wild class.  For colors, I paired Fresh Fig, Rose Red and Smoky Slate.  The stamps in this set are so versatile and can be used for all kinds of cards for young ones, old ones, males and females.  I great set to have in your collection!

The stamped panel measures 3 3/4″ x 5″ and is layered on a Fresh Fig card stock layer measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The base is Smoky Slate, measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.

The Dragonfly is die-cut using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets from Basic Black card stock.  He is then covered in Clear Wink of Stella for a sparkly look.  Here is close up of him:

Dragonfly, Eclectic Expressions, Glitter, Thank You, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU

So pretty!!! The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and the end is punched with the Triple Banner punch.  This is layered on a piece of Fresh Fig card stock also punched with the Triple Banner Punch.  I found it easier to punch my Whisper White sentiment panel first and then use that as a guide for punching the Fresh Fig layer.

Make sure you check out all the other hoppers:

Blossoming Basket

Hi!  How are you today?  I hope doing well!  First, I want to say THANK YOU!! to all those that voted for my Wedding Wishes card for Kylie’s International Blog Highlights.  I made the Top 10!!  I’ll be hopping with the rest of the Top 10 in the beginning of April – so stay tuned!

On to today’s card.  This card features the Blossoming Basket Bundle that is FREE with a $100 (US, prior to S/H and tax) purchase during Sale-A-Bration.  We are down to our FINAL week – so hurry and get those orders placed so you don’t miss out on FREE goodies!

Mother's Day, Flowers, Blossoming Basket, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

This would make a beautiful Mother’s Day card.  Went a little different by stamping my basket on Crumb Cake card  stock and just coloring the flowers and leaves.  I used the Berry Burst and Powder Pink 2017-2019 In Color markers for the Flowers and Old Olive for the leaves.  The basket and sentiment were stamped in Basic Black Archival ink.

The Basket Weave Embossing Folder was used on Whisper White card stock for the background.  The stamp set and embossing folder are bundled together in this FREE product choice.

I did use retired baker’s twine for an accent behind the stamped panel – but Basic Black twine which is current would look just as pretty.

I added a pearl to my sentiment panel and used the Triple Banner Punch to add interest to the opposite end.

The base  of the card is Crumb Cake and a layer of Berry Burst card stock is adhered on top of that.  A relatively straight forward card with just a few special touches for that someone special.

Just a few reminders – now is a great time to stock up on the 2016-2018 In Colors as they will be retiring at the end of May and if you stock up now, you also get to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration!

A Two Pointer

Hi!  I recently came across this fold by Lisa Curcio and had to try it!  It is so easy to do and is a great way to use some of our gorgeous Designer Series Paper!

Fancy Fold, Double Point Fold, Thank You, Birthday, Cards, Sweet Cupcakes, Petal Pallete, DSP, InColors2017, Stampin' Up!, SU!

It is called the Double Point fold!  Isn’t it fun!   It uses 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 3″.  A great way to use up some of your Designer Paper.     Here is what you do:

  1. Score at 1″ along the 3″ side.
  2. Fold the corners furthest from the score line down to the score line.
  3. Use adhesive to hold the corners down.
  4. Attach the 1″ flap to the top and bottom of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White card stock.
  5. Attach the Whisper White card stock to a piece of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ colored card stock.
  6. Use punches or die cuts for your front focal image that is big enough to span the two points.
  7. Decorate as desired and stamp a sentiment under the focal image for the inside of the card if desired.
  8. Attach the focal image to the TOP ONLY using dimensionals.  For the cupcakes –  I used 3 dimensionals; for the bird, I could only use one.  Details on the actual cards below.

Here is a link to Lisa’s video if you’d like a visual.

For the cupcakes, I used the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper stack.  My base colors are Lemon-Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  The colors for the “vanilla” cupcake are:  Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and So Saffron (in that order for the stamps labeled 1, 2, and 3).   I did stamp off the Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand stamps once before stamping on my paper.  I am very happy with how my cupcake turned out.

For the Lemon-Lime Twist card, I used Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist for the two colors (in that order for stamps labeled 1 and 2).  For Berry Burst, I used Berry Burst and Powder Pink in that order.   After they dried, I went over the “frosting” with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen.

Birthday, Cupcake, Sweet Cupcake, Double Point Fold, Fancy Fold, Stampin' Up!, SU!

It sparkles more in real life than I could capture in my picture.   The sentiment is from the You Are Inspiring stamp set in the Occasions Catalog and punched out with the Duo Banner punch.   I did attach the frosting with dimensionals to the cupcake.   These were attached to a Berry Burst Lots of Labels die cut (the second largest die).

The bird is from the Petal Palette stamp set and is stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with the Daffodil Duo Blends.  Tranquil Tide is my base color and the Designer Series Paper is from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  The bird is punched out with the 2″ circle punch and is layered on a 2 1/4″ Tranquil Tide circle.

I taught this fold at a workshop last week and the attendees loved it!  I’ll be doing it again at the March Madness class I am hosting on March 9.  I think it’ll be a big hit!

We are in the last month of Sale-A-Bration!  If you have not yet taken advantage of all the Sale-A-Bration has to offer, now is the time!!  Shop my on-line store with Host Code: 9PSW36TE for a FREE tutorial featuring the Celebration Time stamp set!

A Quick Gift Idea

Hi!  Today I am sharing a quick gift idea if you are like me, and haven’t finished those gifts for teachers, neighbors, family members and friends.

Card Set, Floral, Stampin' Up!, Floral Phrases, SU!

This is one of the projects attendees made at the Gift Class last week.  They are very quick and easy.

  1. Cut Basic Black card stock at 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score at 5 1/2″ and fold.
  2. Cut Whisper White 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to the inside.
  3. Cut Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Powder Pink card stock at 4 x 5 1/4″.
  4. Stamp sentiment across the bottom – this one is from the Floral Phrases coordinating stamp set.
  5. Run these panels through the Big Shot with the Details Floral thinlets.  Use the Big Shot brush and foam pad to remove the little pieces.
  6. Adhere panels to front of cards.

We did 2 of each color for a total of 6 cards.  The sentiment on the second set was from the Dragonfly Dreams “To a wonderful friend….”   These were then boxed with 6 envelopes in the clear card cases found in the Holiday Catalog.

If you need to make multiple sets, cut all your card stock, stamp your sentiments, then die cut.  Adhere all your layers and package with envelopes.

I am off to The Nutcracker with my daughters – they only have 3 shows left this weekend.  Hard to believe we are at our final weekend already.  I’ll show you what we made for the cast members in a future post.

A Little Gift Bag

Hi!  Today I have the CUTEST little gift bags to share with you!  Thanks to Jill Lackford for this idea!   We will be making these at this month’s Boxes, Bags, and Tags class on November 17.  If you are local – join me!!  It’ll be tons of fun!

Gift Bags, Seasonal Chums, Foil Frenzy, DSP, Stampin' Up!, SU!

Aren’t these adorable????  I LOVE THEM!!!  The bags are made using the Foil Frenzy Designer Series Specialty Paper and the Gift Bag Punch board.  The decorations on the bag use the Seasonal Chums Stamp Set and coordinating dies.  Here’s a closer look at each bag:

Gift Bag, Seasonal Chums, Foil Frenzy, DSP, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For the snowman, I used Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist for the mittens and scarf and the holly and band on the hat.  The bunny is colored in Crumb Cake.  The hat is Basic Gray and his nose is Pumpkin Pie.  He is layered on a Circle cut from the Layering Circles  stamp set in Whisper White which was then run through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.  This is placed on a Lemon Lime Scallop Circle from the Layering Circles as well.   The ribbon is Lemon Lime Twist 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon.

Gift Bags, Seasonal Chums, DSP, Foil Frenzy, Stampin' Up!, SU!

The reindeer is stamped on Crumb Cake card stock (less coloring!).  His nose, spots, hooves and antlers are colored with a Chocolate Chip Marker.  His ears are colored in Pink Pirouette.  The bow is Soft Sky, the bell Crushed Curry.  I then colored the bell with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen.  He is popped up on a Whisper White circle die cut with the Layering Circles Framelits and this is placed on a Soft Sky Scallop from the same die set.  The ribbon is Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.

I can’t wait to show guests how to make these bags!
