Petal Palette Clean & Simple

Hi!  How are you?  I hope you are doing well!  Sorry for not posting for a few days – ended up out of town for a business trip and wasn’t able to get a post written before I left.

Today I have a clean and simple card featuring the Petal Palette stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.

Thank You, Thanks, Petal Palette, Stampni' Up!, SU!, 2018Occasions

I love the clean look of this card!  I typically struggle with CAS (Clean and Simple) cards, but am very happy with how this one turned out.  The flowers are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The leaves are colored with the Old Olive Duo Pack and the flowers with Pink Pirouette and Cherry Cobbler Dark Blends.  I love that you can see just a hint of the Pink Pirouette in the flower petals.

The sentiment is stamped in Versamark on Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  I used a small scrap of Berry Burst card stock punched with the Ribbon punch to tuck underneath.  A few Rose Red Regal Enamel shapes to accent the sentiment and there you have it.

For the layers, Thick Whisper White is used for the base and is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.  A Basic Black layer 5 1/4″ x 4″ is adhered to the base while the stamped  panel is Whisper White cardstock measuring 5″ x 3 3/4″.

An easy enough card to mass produce if you are in need of quite a few.   Change out the sentiment to make it a Birthday or Congratulations card!

There are just 10 more days to go before Sale-A-Bration ends!  Do NOT miss out on getting your FREE goodies!!  A $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) order earns you a FREE product from either Sale-A-Bration brochure shown on the right or from the flier posted above.  A $250 order (or gather a few orders from friends) earns you Sale-A-Bration products as well an additional $25 (for a total of $50) in FREE merchandise of your choice!  Is your wish list really long?  Then JOIN my team!  You choose $125 in Stampin’ Up! products for just $99 plus tax and then add on 2 Stamp Sets FREE!!

For the Boys…

and for the Girls!

Hi!  Today I am continuing with the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper that you can earn FREE with a $50 purchase (US, prior to S/H and tax) during Sale-A-Bration which ends this month!!   Don’t miss out!!!  Place an order NOW to get your FREE goodies!  Just click the Shop Now button to your right!

I have two cards today, first up… for the boys!

Boys, Teens, Epic Celebrations, 2018Sale-A-Bration, 2018Occasions, Brushos, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this card, I spritzed the Copper dotted Springtime Foil sheet with water and sprinkled on Brilliant Blue and Yellow Brushos then spritzed again to mix the colors to create my background.   These Crystal Colours are so much fun to play with – and if you like to paint – I highly recommend adding them to your collection.  You can find them here.

For the sneakers, I combined the same two colors in  a little paint palette and added a little water from an AquaPainter to mix the two colors together.  The sneakers are embossed in White Embossing Powder on Whisper White cardstock, then painted with the brusho colors.  These were then cut out by hand and popped up on a Basic Black 2″ circle.  This is layered on a piece of Copper Foil punched with the Starburst punch.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival ink and punched out with a 1 1/2″ circle punch.

The base of the card is Thick Whisper White cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.  A piece of Basic Black cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ is matted behind the Springtime Foil piece which measures 3 3/4″ x 5″.

This same design and layout can also be turned into a card for girls by changing up the Brusho colours!

Girls, Teens, Brushos, Epic Celebration, 2018SaleABration, 2018Occasions, Stampin' Up!, SU!The same technique, punches and layers used for the boys are used here.  The only difference, the Brusho colors.  For the background piece, I sprinkled Brilliant Blue, Brilliant Red and Yellow brushos.  For the sneakers, I mixed Brilliant Blue and Brilliant Red to create my purple.

Two great cards that can be used to celebrate a birthday or even graduation!

What do you think?  Are you liking the different looks you can get with this fun paper?  If so, then don’t forget to place a qualifying $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) so you can choose this for FREE!  Or you can choose Epic Celebrations which is also a FREE product choice during Sale-A-Bration!  Just a reminder, you can choose one FREE item for each $50 you spend!

A Little Squirrelly

Hi!  Today I am kicking off a little series featuring the Sale-A-Bration Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper!  I just LOVE this paper and will be sad to see it go this month.  You can choose this paper FOR FREE with a $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) purchase – but only through the end of this month!

Squirrel, Hedgehugs, SpringtimeFoils, 2018SAB, Stampin' Up!, SU!

The squirrel and sentiment are from the Hedgehugs stamp set found in the Occasions Catalog.  The images in this set are just adorable!  I stamped teh Squirrel in Chocolate Chip and the sentiment in Pool Party.  This was punched out with the 2″ circle punch and layered on a piece of  Calypso Coral punched with the Starburst punch.  I layered the Striped pattern from the Springtime Foil paper over a thin strip of Pool Party.  A piece of the Calyspo Coral shimmer ribbon (also a FREE item for Sale-A-Bration) was wrapped around the foil before attaching to a layer of Whisper White card stock.

The measurements are:

  • Base – Pool Party Card stock – 4 1/4 x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″

Waterfront Ice

Hi!  This morning I have a card featuring the Black Ice Technique that was developed by Melissa Kerman.  This is such a cool technique – I just love the results!

Black Ice, Waterfront, Masculine, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Embossing, Black and White, Occasions2018

It is a little hard to capture in pictures, but in real life, it looks like there is are thin lines of ice running down the picture.

For my card, I used the Waterfront stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  I LOVE this set!!!  If you get nothing else from the Occasions catalog, get this set!  It is perfect for so many occasions.

Here are the steps for doing the black ice technique:

  1. Drag Basic Black Archival Ink Pad down the Silver Foil card stock – try and keep it straight to get black lines running down the card stock.
  2. Stamp your images in Basic Black Archival ink – the foil is slippery – so be careful when stamping to not have it slide.  Use a Piercing Mat under the foil to help with getting a crisp image.
  3. Let DRY!!  (You can use a heat gun to step up this process – but you want it dry!
  4. Drag the Versarmark Ink Pad down over the entire image (similar motion to what you did with the the Basic Black Archival).  Do not press down too hard – a light touch is preferred here.
  5. Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder over the entire image.  Tap off excess.
  6. Heat set.

That is all there is to it!

Here are the dimensions for my layers:

  • Base: Basic Black – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Whisper White – 4″ x 5 1/4″ – Drag the Basic Black Archival Pad down this layer as well
  • Basic Black – 3 5/8 x 4 5/8″
  • Whisper White – 3 1/2 x 4 1/2″
  • Silver Foil – 3 1/4 x 3 1/4″

I left room at the bottom for my sentiment.  I added the Basic Black Shimmery Ribbon beneath the Silver foil.

Such a cool look!

A Two Pointer

Hi!  I recently came across this fold by Lisa Curcio and had to try it!  It is so easy to do and is a great way to use some of our gorgeous Designer Series Paper!

Fancy Fold, Double Point Fold, Thank You, Birthday, Cards, Sweet Cupcakes, Petal Pallete, DSP, InColors2017, Stampin' Up!, SU!

It is called the Double Point fold!  Isn’t it fun!   It uses 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper measuring 4″ x 3″.  A great way to use up some of your Designer Paper.     Here is what you do:

  1. Score at 1″ along the 3″ side.
  2. Fold the corners furthest from the score line down to the score line.
  3. Use adhesive to hold the corners down.
  4. Attach the 1″ flap to the top and bottom of a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White card stock.
  5. Attach the Whisper White card stock to a piece of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ colored card stock.
  6. Use punches or die cuts for your front focal image that is big enough to span the two points.
  7. Decorate as desired and stamp a sentiment under the focal image for the inside of the card if desired.
  8. Attach the focal image to the TOP ONLY using dimensionals.  For the cupcakes –  I used 3 dimensionals; for the bird, I could only use one.  Details on the actual cards below.

Here is a link to Lisa’s video if you’d like a visual.

For the cupcakes, I used the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper stack.  My base colors are Lemon-Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  The colors for the “vanilla” cupcake are:  Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and So Saffron (in that order for the stamps labeled 1, 2, and 3).   I did stamp off the Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand stamps once before stamping on my paper.  I am very happy with how my cupcake turned out.

For the Lemon-Lime Twist card, I used Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist for the two colors (in that order for stamps labeled 1 and 2).  For Berry Burst, I used Berry Burst and Powder Pink in that order.   After they dried, I went over the “frosting” with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen.

Birthday, Cupcake, Sweet Cupcake, Double Point Fold, Fancy Fold, Stampin' Up!, SU!

It sparkles more in real life than I could capture in my picture.   The sentiment is from the You Are Inspiring stamp set in the Occasions Catalog and punched out with the Duo Banner punch.   I did attach the frosting with dimensionals to the cupcake.   These were attached to a Berry Burst Lots of Labels die cut (the second largest die).

The bird is from the Petal Palette stamp set and is stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with the Daffodil Duo Blends.  Tranquil Tide is my base color and the Designer Series Paper is from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  The bird is punched out with the 2″ circle punch and is layered on a 2 1/4″ Tranquil Tide circle.

I taught this fold at a workshop last week and the attendees loved it!  I’ll be doing it again at the March Madness class I am hosting on March 9.  I think it’ll be a big hit!

We are in the last month of Sale-A-Bration!  If you have not yet taken advantage of all the Sale-A-Bration has to offer, now is the time!!  Shop my on-line store with Host Code: 9PSW36TE for a FREE tutorial featuring the Celebration Time stamp set!

Just Can’t Resist

Hi!  I have another Hedgehugs card for you today – I just couldn’t resist – they are just so cute!

Hedgehugs, Friends, Hello, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I debuted this card in my Facebook Live on Feb 13th.  If you would like to see how it is made, you will find it on this page.

My base is Real Red – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half.

A layer of Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4″ scored at  1 1/4 & 1 3/8 and 1 1/2″” from the bottom is layered on top of that.  I like the dimension that the scored lines give to the card.

The Hedgehog is stamped in Soft Suede ink and then lightly shaded with the Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil and a blender pen.  The flower is colored with Real Red marker.  The Layering Squares and Stitched Shapes framelits were used to die cut the hedgehog as well as the Real Red mat layer.

The flowers were colored with Real Red and Always Artichoke Markers and die cut with the Layering Squares and coordinating Stitched Shapes framelits as well.    To give the card an added look, I cut these on a diagonal.

The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede ink and is from the A Good Day stamp set also in the Occasions Catalog.   A relatively quick card that I am sure would brighten anyone’s day.

I am still offering a FREE tutorial featuring the We All Celebrate stamp set for every $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) purchase through Feb 28 and using Hostess Code: NYGZFRDW

Hello, Little Bird

Hi!  I am so happy to be joining in on Kylie’s International Project Highlights today!  I’d love your vote on my project.  You can vote here.  Just click the word  “vote” under the picture of my project!

Oh, so what are you voting on?  Here is my project!

Birds, Card, Hello, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Hedgehugs, 2018Occasions

I just love this little bird from the Hedgehugs stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  I think he is easy to overlook because those Hedgehogs are just so cute in that set.  So, I thought I’d highlight him in my card today.

The image is colored with Stampin’ Up! markers – Chocolate Chip and Calypso Coral for the bird.  Crumb Cake and Old Olive for the branch.  I colored this image directly on the stamp then stamped him on a piece of Whisper White card stock. The sentiment is from the Tabs for Everything set and is stamped in Tranquil Tide.  The image is punched with a 1 1/2″ circle punch.  This is then layered on a 1 3/4″ Tranquil Tide Circle and finally on a 2″ Calypso Coral circle.

The base of the card is the Thick Whisper White.  It is cut 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.  I used one of the embossing folders from the Petal Duo Pair in the Occasions Catalog.

The Designer Series Paper is from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper pack and is 3 1/4 x 4″. I just love this paper – so bright and cheery and perfect for my bird.    This is layered on Tranquil Tide that is 3 1/2 x 4 1/4.  And finally a layer of Calypso Coral that is 3 3/4 x 4 1/2″.   Before placing these layers oh the base, I attached a piece of Tranquil Tide 1/2″ Finely Woven ribbon overlayed with a piece of the Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon that is FREE with a $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) order during Sale-A-Bration.

Spring Fling Blog Hop

Hi!  Welcome to the Team Stamp It Spring Fling Blog Hop!  I am happy to share with you my Spring creation using the You’re Inspiring Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog!

For my project, I created this card set complete with box and 4 cards and envelopes.

Cards, Spring, Easter, You're Inspiring, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For the cards, I stamped the daffodils on a piece of 2 1/2″ x 3″ piece of Thick Whisper White using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.   These were colored with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends markers.   The corners were rounded using the Corner Rounder on the Envelope Punch Board.  Black Baker’s Twine was tied around the bottom of the panel.

This was mounted on the leaf print pattern from the Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper pack that is 2 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ with the corners rounded.

The Base of the card is Thick Whisper White 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ and folded with a bone folder.   The sentiment is stamped in the lower right corner in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Cards, Spring, Easter, Birthday, You're Inspiring, Stamipin' Up!, SU!

I did 2 of each sentiment.  I think I prefer the longer bow on the birthday card.

Now the box.

To make the box top:

  1. Cut a piece of Thick Whisper White 7 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.
  2. Score at 1 1/4″ and 7 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.
  3. Rotate 90 degrees and score at 3 1/8″ and 4 3/8″ on the 7 1/2″ side.
  4. Cut on the 3 1/8″ and 4 3/8″ score lines on the 7 1/2″ side to form tabs.
  5. Stamp the front panel with the Daffodils in Memento Black Ink.
  6. Color with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.
  7. Fold on all score lines.
  8. Adhere the tabs to the back panel using Tear & Tape.
  9. Place Tear & Tape on the front tabs and adhere to the back tabs to make lid.

For the Bottom:

  1. Cut a piece of Old Olive Card Stock 8 3/8″ x 9″.
  2. Score at 1 1/4″ and 7 1/8″ on the 8 3/8″ side.
  3. Rotate 90 degrees and score at 3 and 4 1/4″ on the 9″ side.
  4. Cut on the 3 and 4 1/4″ score lines to the score lines on both sides to form tabs.
  5. Use Tear & Tape to adhere tab to back (longer panel).
  6. Use Tear & Tape to adhere the front tabs (short panel) to the back tabs.
  7. Use Paper Snips to cut at an angle the side tabs from the front panel to the back panel.
  8. Place lid on top.

I love how this project turned out!  What do you think?
