Fun with the Playful Alphabet

Hi!  Today I am sharing a card using the Playful Alphabet!  This is such a fun alphabet set and perfect for making your sentiment your focal point on your card.

I love how the word pops from the Basic Black mat layer.  I used the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper for the banner strips holding each letter.  The base is Granny Apple Green and the letters are die-cut from Garden Green, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight cardstock scraps.  They are popped up using dimensionals.

The sentiment is from A Wish For Everything stamp set and is stamped with Jet Black Stazon Ink.  The Pick a Banner punch was used to create the flag end.

Cardstock dimensions:

  • Base – Granny Apple Green 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.
  • Basic Black mat layer – 4″ x 5 1/4″ inches
  • Designer Series Paper Strips – 1/2″ inch by varying lengths

There are endless color combinations and words you could use – Smile, Thanks, Love, Wish, Hope – the list goes on – that would look great on this layout.

I hope you will give it a try.

Happy National Cookie Day!

Hi!  Today is National Cookie Day!  What better way to celebrate than with the Nothing’s Better Than suite!

Nothing's Better Than, Cookies, Stampin' Up!, SU!

My favorite cookie is the Peanut butter Blossom.  We make them near the holidays for the most part – so we will be making them soon!

Crumb Cake and Petal Pink form the base colors for this card.  A little texture is added to the Petal Pink by embossing with the Tasteful Textures Embossing Folder.

The Bermuda Bay plate adds a nice pop of colorful.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Brights 6×6″ stack.  For a lighter look to the cookies, stamp off once before stamping on Whisper White card stock.

So, what’s your favorite cookie?

Step It Up

Hi!  Today I am showcasing three cards using the Step It Up technique.  Each card is “stepped up” from the one before it.  All three feature the Beauty Abounds Stamp Set.

Beauty Abounds, Beginner, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

This card just uses stamps, ink and card stock.

The colors used for this card are Misty Moonlight, Terracotta Tile and Gray Granite.   Everything is stamped on this card.   The Whisper White stamped panel is attached to a Misty Moonlight Mat.  The base is Thick Whisper White.

The second card looks like this:

Beauty Abounds, Casual, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

For this card, the sentiment is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White and punched with the 2″ Circle Punch.  The butterflies are die cut using the coordinating dies Butterfly Beauty.  Misty Moonlight and Crumb Cake are the card stock colors used for the butterflies.

The final card is this:

Beauty Abounds, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

A mat layer is added behind the sentiment, Butterfly Gems and ribbon are used to accent the card.  Minor touches as you go along and each a beauty in its own right.

I just wanted to show how you could make minor tweaks to take your card to the next level.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Step It Up post.

Beautiful Journey

Hi!  Today I have a quick card using the World of Good Suite from the Annual Catalog.

Journey, Masculine, World Of Good, Stampin' Up!, SU!

The World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper is paired with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder to create the background for this card.  I love the dimension the embossing folder gives to our Whisper White Cardstock.

The sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink and die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  The ink bottle is stamped in Jet Black StaZon and the feather in Crumb Cake.  Both are die cut with the coordinating die set.

The base is Early Espresso.

This is a great set for those masculine cards we sometimes struggle with.

Don’t forget, the new Standard Stampin’ Cut and Emboss has made its debut in my on-line store:

Do You Love Fall?

I do!!  (I’m sure you know that by now!).  Anyway, today I have two cards for you – though they are made together using the 2 for 1, or Split Card or ….  not really sure what it is called …  technique.

Fall, Hello, Friendship, Forever Fern, Stampin' Up!, SU!, 2for1, Split Card, #2020AnnualCatalog

I had seen this technique a while ago but didn’t have a chance to try it out until a few weeks ago when getting ready for my Facebook Live.  The gist of the technique, take a larger sheet of cardstock – for this I used 6 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ sheet of Whisper White – then stamp up the middle.  Cut the card in half at 3 1/4″ and you have 2 card fronts!

I decided to do this with the Emboss Resist technique – so I stamped the leaves from the Forever Fern bundle in Versamark and Embossed with Whisper White Embossing powder.  I then sponged Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze inks – wiping off the ink over the embossed leaves after each color.  The final step was to stamp the flowers, smaller leaves and splatter stamps in Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.   The sentiments are stamped in Cajun Craze.

Emboss Resist, Fall, Friendship, SplitCard, 2for1, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

I matted the stamped panels on Early Espresso measuring 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″.  I tied Early Espresso Faux Suede Ribbon and Copper Ribbon together around this layer.

The Cajun Craze mat layer is embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  The base is Thick Whisper White Card Stock measuring 4 1/4 x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded in half.

I love how these cards turned out!  If you are looking for a quick technique for mass producing, try this 2-For-1 layout – you can just use stamps and inks – no need to Emboss Resist if time is an issue.

Here’s a look at the second card:

Emboss Resist, 2for1, SplitCard, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Forever Fern, Hello, Friendship, #2020AnnualCatalog

Here’s a video showing how the cards were made:

I hope you’ll give this technique a try!

Country Charm

Hi!  I’m back today with a card featuring the Country Home Stamp Set.  I love this set – it has such a charming feel to it.

Hello, Friendship, Country Home, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

For my colors, I went with Flirty Flamingo and Basic Gray.  The milk jug was stamped on a piece of Designer Series Paper from the In Good Taste pack then fussy cut with scissors.  The flowers were stamped with Jet Black StaZon ink and colored with Watercolor Pencils on the Whisper White layer.  The jug was then adhered to the Whisper White layer.  This is matted on Basic Gray cardstock.

For the background, I inked the Tin Tile Embossing Folder with Flirty Flamingo ink then placed a piece of Whisper White cardstock in the folder.  This is then run through the new Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.

The card base is Basic Gray – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ then folded in half.  A piece of Flirty Flamingo is used as a mat for the Tin Tile embossed strip and piece of Whisper White.  The main stamped image is adhered using dimensionals.

With fall right around the corner, this is a perfect card to send a friend or family member to say Hello.

As mentioned above, the new Stampin’ Cut and Emboss – standard size – is now available in my On-line store.  If you are looking for a new die cut machine or for your first check it out!
