This Or That – CAS Style

Hi!  Today I am sharing 2 cards with you to see which one you prefer – This or That – Clean and Simple Style.

THIS: Textured Background

Squared Away, Floral Squares, Expressions in Ink, Love of Leaves, Thank You, CAS, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog

THAT:  Score Lines

Squared Away, Floral Squares, Expressions in Ink, Love of Leaves, Thank You, CAS, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog

I am finding that I love the Clean and Simple look  and finding that it doesn’t have to be boring – you can add interest with the use of a 3D Embossing Folder – such as the Tasteful Textile folder used in THIS – or by just adding some score lines as seen in THAT.

For both cards, I used the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper – my favorite in the Annual Catalog and the Floral Squares dies – such a fun set of dies (they are bundled with the All Squared Away stamp set which makes cute backgrounds for these die cuts as well).  I cut each floral frame twice and attached them together to give the image some dimension.

To make a frame for my image, I chose the Stitched with Whimsy dies.

The sentiment is from the Love of Leaves stamp set – I wanted a small font and this was perfect for the Thank You cards I needed to send for the end of September orders I received.

The main colors for the card are:

  • Basic White – 4 1/4″ x 11″ – score at 5 1/2″ and fold, mat layer 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
  • Evening Evergreen – 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the mat

The Floral Squares measure 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ when cut, so I cut the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper the same size.

So, which look do you like better?  THIS or THAT?  Leave a comment and let me know!

By the way, I am so close to hitting my $200K career sales milestone!  Thank you so much to those who shop with me!

More Fun With Scraps

Hi!  Back today with another great way to use up Designer Series Paper scraps!

Expressions In Ink, Scraps, Hello, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog, #usehtosescraps

I wish I had been able to get a better picture – this card is stunning in real life.  The gold accents in the Designer Series Paper just pop with the Gold die cut.

The scraps measure 3/4″ x 3″ – so a 3″ x 3″ scrap is what you would need.  The scraps are staggered on the card front and attached with dimensionals.

The base is Pale Papaya measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.  The Basic White measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ and is embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

This Designer Series Paper is the Expressions in Ink Specialty Paper -and truly can stand on its own.  For this card, I paired it with a die from the Birds & More die set and Gold Foil.

The sentiment is stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and is from the Forever Fern stamp set.

A few Metallic Pearls finish off the card.  If you have not yet checked out the Expressions In Ink Designer Specialty Paper in the Annual Catalog, I highly recommend it!

There are just 2 weeks left of Sale-A-Bration!  So don’t delay in getting those orders in.  The Be Dazzling 6″ x 6″ paper has sold out and is no longer available.

Hello and Happy Monday

Hi!  How was your weekend?  Did you do anything fun?  We had a gorgeous weekend weather wise and so I got out for a walk on both Saturday and Sunday as well as did some yard work.  I also opened the windows and aired out the house – so nice to get fresh air into the house.  Today I am sharing a card where the Designer Series Paper is the star.

Hello, Friendship, Pansy Petals DSP, Sunny Sentiments, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog

For this card, I used 3 different patterns from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.  The BumbleBee Designer Paper measures 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The striped piece on the flap on the left measures 3/4″ x 5″.  The Soft Succulent mat behind the striped paper measures 1″ x 5 1/4″.  The flowered DSP measures 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″.  The Soft Succulent mat measure 4 3/4″ x 3 3/4″

The base of the card is Evening Evergreen and measures 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 1 1/4″ from the left hand edge so final card measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

On the inside, behind the flowered Designer Series Paper, is a piece of Basic White that measures 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2.

The sentiment is stamped in Soft Succulent ink on a scrap of Basic White and punched with the Everyday Label punch.  A scrap of Evening Evergreen is also punched with the same punch.  To get the layers look, cut the Evening Evergreen punched label in half and attach to the back of the sentiment.

Add a bit of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon and Genial Gems to finish the card.

We are down to  2 1/2 weeks for Sale-A-Bration – so remember that your $50 purchase earns you a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  There’s still time to host a catalog or on-line party if you want to gather some family and friends for a crafty evening.

Encircled in Black and White

Hi!  Thanks so much for the feedback on Monday’s card and for the votes.  I will know next week how I did – so there is still time to vote if you haven’t yet.

Today, I am sharing a card using the Encircled in Friendship stamp set with the gorgeous Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper that you can earn FREE with a $50 purchase (prior to S/H and tax) by Sept 30.

Friendship, Thinking of You, Stampin' Up!, SU! #2021AnnualCatalog, #2021SAB

The Beautifully Penned paper is all Black and White and gorgeous patterns.  You can add a touch of color to this paper in many ways:

For my card, I kept it as is and added a touch of color by using Water Color pencils on the flowers.  I love how this card turned out and used it for my September #makeacardsendacard.   If you aren’t familiar with this, once a month on my Facebook Page I ask folks who could use some happy mail to send me a private message with their address and I’d get one out to them.  I am still working on September’s card design – but if you could use a pick-me-up – let me know!  I’d be happy to add you to my list.

The sentiment is stamped in Jet Black StaZon – same as the flowers.  I used the Layering Circle dies to die cut the sentiment and the Basic Black mat.

The base is Thick Basic White – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.  The designer series paper measures 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Basic White is used for the coordinating stamped layer – I did die cut before stamping and used the die to align the stamp in my Stamparatus and then rotated the die cut 4 times to stamp the flower image.

The Matte Black Dots were the perfect touch to finish the card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

It’s A Peachy Day

Hi!  Happy Labor Day weekend!  It’s a bit dreary here today, so hoping this cards brings a little sunshine your way.  Had some fun with the Sweet As a Peach stamp set and coordinating Designer Series Paper.

Friendship, Sweet As A Peach, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog, #usethosescraps

I love using up scraps of Designer Series Paper and this layout is perfect for that!  The base of the card is Calypso Coral – 4 1/4 x 11″ – score at 5 1/2″ and fold.

A layer of Basic Black is placed on top measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″  A piece of Calypso Coral measuring 3 3/4″ x 5″ holds are 4 Designer Series Paper scraps.  The polka dot rectangles are each 1 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ while the smaller peach rectangles are 1 3/4″ x 2″.  Use Seal adhesive to adhere them to the Calypso Coral layer.

The Scalloped Contours dies are perfect for our main stamped image.  Use a Blending Brush or apply Pear Pizzazz ink as a background.

The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  The peaches are stamped in Calypso Coral and die cut with the coordinating die.  The sentiment is stamped in Pear Pizzazz and also die cut with the coordinating die.

Use dimensionals to attach the leaves, peaches and sentiment to the Scallopped Contour rectangle.

I hope today’s card inspires you to try using up some of your scraps!

Seashells In Life

Hi!  How are you today?  I love looking for shells when I get to the beach – they are so pretty.  I have a jar in my kitchen with the shells I have collected over the years.  Do you collect them?  Well, today’s card reminds me of those shells.

This set debuted in the January-June Mini Catalog tho it took me a while to use it – so I am happy that it carried over to the Annual Catalog.  The shells are stamped on Designer Series Paper scraps from the now retired coordinating paper pack.   The In Good Taste or Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper packs would be great to use in place of this retired paper.

I love that this suite contained an Embossing Folder called Seashells 3D.  It creates such a beautiful background.   Did you know that the die set Seaside Seashells work with this Embossing Folder?  Pretty cool!   And what’s even sweeter – you can still purchase the dies and stamp set as a bundle in the Annual Catalog!

For the card, I used Sahara Sand for my base.  The embossed layer is Basic White.  As mentioned, the shells are stamped on Designer Series Paper using Sahara Sand ink.   The sentiment is also stamped in Sahara Sand ink and the Banners Pick-A-Punch was used to create the flag end.

A relatively quick card to put together if you are in need of a few.

Turtle Love

Hi!  The Turtle Friends bundle in the Annual Catalog is my favorite.  He is just adorable and will make fabulous cards for any occasions.

Birthday, Belated, Turtle Friends, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog

I made this card following a sketch challenge from the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group.     The Designer Series Paper is a Host item that you can earn with a $150 (prior to S/H and tax) purchase or by hosting a workshop or catalog party with your family and friends that reaches a minimum of $150.  The colors of this paper are so bright and cheerful – I love them.

The card base is Granny Apple Green.  The turtle is stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake card stock and punched with the coordinating punch.  The shell is Granny Apple Green ink on Basic White cardstock.  While the punch does not do just the shell, you can use it to punch and just trim the bottom of the shell.   The hat is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink and fussy cut with Paper Snips.  It is colored with Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green markers.

The sentiment is stamped in Granny Apple Green ink as well.  The turtle is attached using dimensionals.  A few of the Artistry Blooms Adhesive backed sequins finishes it off.

Here is a link to the sketch.

Butterfly Brilliance

Hi!  Happy March!  Wow, January and February were a whirlwind with Sale-A-Bration and the new January-June mini catalog that I wasn’t sure how we were going to top it – and what do you know – Stampin’ Up! decided to introduce the new Butterfly Bouquet bundle that will debut in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog!

If you know me, you know how much I love butterflies – just look at my signature, right?  I am so in love with these products.  The stamp is a background stamp and there is one die that will cut all butterflies together.  But, there are also 5 individual detailed dies that you could use to create a layer for each butterfly!  Prefer individual butterflies?

I will definitely be doing this, too!  That way I can stamp individually when I want as well.   Oh, and save those bits and pieces in between the butterflies – place them randomly on a block to create an animal print!

Ok, let’s get back to the bundle.  Besides the stamp set and coordinating dies, there are 2 other products that fill out the bundle that are ONLY available during this special early bird period.  That is, they will not be in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

Introducing the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack.  This contains 48 sheets – 8 each of 6 designs.  Some people call a group of butterflies a kaleidoscope, and that’s what you’ll get with the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper. Choose from glorious butterfly patterns in shades of aqua, pink, and yellow or watercolored patterns that coordinate beautifully.   This paper is only available during the promotion and while supplies last.

Add lovely texture to your creations with the Natural Touch Specialty Paper. The pale woodgrain is versatile enough for any project and any time of year. You can stamp on it, emboss it, and use it with dies. Use large pieces of it as a background or cut out pieces to use as accents.  You get 2 12″ x 12″ pieces of this gorgeous paper.   This paper is only available during this promotion and while supplies last.

And, if you purchase this bundle from me during the month of March, I will send you a FREE  tutorial to make these 4 gorgeous cards:
