Friendly Ladybug

Hi!  Happy Wednesday!  Today we have a visit from a little ladybug.

Hello Ladybug, Friendship, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2023AnnualCatalog, #dsp

I love the pop that the Real Red gives to this card.  It is sure to brighten anyone’s day.   The base of the card is Basic White Thick, measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.

A piece of Black Gingham ribbon is tied around a piece of Real Red cardstock measuring 4 1/4″ x 2″.

Two strips of Zany Zoo Designer Series Paper (on sale for 15% this month), measuring 4 1/4″ x 3/4″ are then attached to the Real Red cardstock.  This whole piece is then adhered to the card base using Stampin’ Seal.

The ladybug is made from a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  The wings are stamped first in Real Red ink and the spots are stamped in Memento Black ink.  These are punched out from the coordinating punch.   Attach the ladybug with dimensionals to the card front.   Use a Basic Black Marker to draw a dashed line to represent the ladybug’s flight.

Lastly, the sentiment is stamped on a strip of Basic White measuring 3/4″ wide.   The Banners Pick a Punch is used to create the flag end.  A 1/2″ strip of Basic Black is also punched using the Banners Pick a Punch and layered behind the Basic White sentiment before adhering to the card base.

A fun and cute little card to send to a friend and brighten their day.

Countryside Inn Birthday

Hi!  Today I am back with a card featuring the gorgeous Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper – also on sale this month!

Birthday, Countryside Inn, Basics EF, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2023AnnualCatalog

I paired the Designer Series Paper with the Circle Sayings stamp set.  I love the font on this set – so pretty!  The flowers are stamped in Boho Blue and the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock.  These are punched with the 2 1/4″ circle punch.  A Night of Navy circle is punched using the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch that is bundled with the stamp set.

The card base is Night of Navy, measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.  A piece of Basic White card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ is embossed with the Crosshatch Embossing Folder found in the Basics 3D Embossing Folder pack in the On-Line Exclusives.

A piece Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper measuring 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ is laid across the bottom of the Basic White layer so that placement of the circle can be determined.  Also lay a piece of Night of Navy Bordered ribbon to note if any adjustment to the circle needs to be made before adhering.  Once you have the locations of the pieces, adhere the circle first, then the Designer Series Paper and then the ribbon – attaching the ribbon to the back of the Basic White will help anchor it in place.   Finish the card by adhering the Basic White layer to the card base.

Given the dark color of the base, I recommend attaching a piece of Basic White measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ to the inside of the card for your message.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card – please leave a comment if you have any questions.

Lemon Lolly Meets Fresh as a Daisy

Hi!  I am excited to share with you a card featuring the new color Lemon Lolly!  This is such a pretty shade of yellow and is fast becoming a favorite of mine.

Fresh as a Daisy, Birthday, Stampin' Up!, SU! #2023AnnualCatalog

I chose to feature the Fresh as a Daisy suite as well for this card.  This suite is so easy to work with – the Designer Series Paper is so pretty.  For this card, I chose to use the backside of one of the pieces – those are great for any type of card – if you haven’t checked it out yet.

The base of the card is Lemon Lolly – measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.

The main image is stamped on a piece of Basic White measuring 1 3/4″ x 5 1/2″.   The flower is stamped is Smoky Slate – stamped off once before stamping on the Basic White for a softer look.  The daisy center is stamped in Lemon Lolly.   The stem and leaves are stamped in Old Olive.  This is mounted on a piece of Azure Afternoon measuring 1 7/8″ x 5 1/2″.  A piece of Lemon Lolly measuring 2″ x 5 1/2″ is matted behind.  This is matted on a piece of the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series paper measuring 3″ x 5 1/2″.

A piece of Lemon Lolly Ribbon is tied around these layers before being attached to the base.   The sentiment is stamped in Azure Afternoon on a scrap of Basic White and die cut with the coordinating die from the Daisy set.  A few Adhesive Backed gems finish the card.

I love how fresh and cheerful this card turned out and can’t wait to share it with someone special.
