Friend Like You

Hi!  Today I am happy to be participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights!  I haven’t been able to do this in quite a while and am so excited to take part again!

My card for you today features the Positive Thoughts stamps and coordinating dies (the dies are only available until March 31 – so get them soon!)

Positivie Thoughts, Thank You, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020Occasions, #internationalbloghighlights

I used the double time stamping technique to stamp the corner of this card.  It is easy to do and a fun technique.  Simply layer the two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock on top of each other and stamp.  Then insert a Soft Suede mat layer behind the top panel.  This allows the pattern to align.

The base layer is Soft Suede and Very Vanilla is my neutral.  The leaves are stamped in Pool Party ink and generational stamping is used.   So Saffron Ink is sponged lightly over the layers.  The butterfly is stamped in Soft Suede.

I colored the pearls with light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend – here is a close-up view:

Here’s a video of this technique along with a bonus card:

I’d love your vote for my card over in Kylie’s gallery.  Simply hop over to the gallery here and click on the HEART in the corner of my card to vote for my project.

Don’t forget, Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31!!  FREE exclusive Sale-A-Bration products with a minimum $50 order.

Positive Thoughts on Texture

Hi!  This week I am featuring Positive Thoughts here on my blog!  Today I have a card to share with you that we made in February’s Card Club.  My Card Club ladies are advanced stampers, so I step up the cards that we make in this class.  Here is the first one:

Friend, Positive Thoughts, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020Occasions

I absolutely LOVE the Positive Thoughts stamp set in the Occasions Catalog.  The fact that Stampin’ Up! is now offering coordinating dies through the Coordination release makes this a must have bundle for all.  I can see using these for birthday, Mother’s Day, thinking of you and even sympathy.  Or, in the case of this card, just letting the recipient know how much you appreciate them being in your life.

As I mentioned, there is quite a bit of texture to this card – from the Tin Tile Embossing on the background layer, the use of Stitched Rectangle Dies and the mix of stamped and just plain die cuts – I love the combination.

I love the muted colors – Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and a pop of Pool Party.    The natural linen thread finishes it off.

If you don’t already have this stamp set and coordinating dies, shop my on-line store today to get yours!  The dies are while supplies last – so don’t miss out!

Squirrelly Love

Hi! Today I have the second card I made during this past Tuesday’s Facebook Live featuring the Special Someone Stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.

Isn’t he cute?  Once again I used the Blender Pen to color the squirrel after stamping him with Early Espresso ink.  You’ll note that the squirrel and balloon are die cut – this is because Stampin’ Up! has created a set of dies that will be available on Feb 4 as part of the Coordination release!  LOVE IT!!!

The grass is also one of the dies in the set.  I used Old Olive cardstock for that.

The balloon is stamped in Real Red ink and is 2-step stamping.  I did the full heart first and then the outline as I find it easier to stamp this way.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings set in the Annual catalog.  Inside says Happy Valentine’s Day which was one of the greetings in the January Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Speaking of Paper Pumpkin, did you know that during Sale-A-Bration, 3-, 6-, and 12-month pre-paids subscriptions earn you FREE product?  How awesome is that!  If you are currently a subscriber, consider purchasing a 12-month pre-paid – you will get 1 month of Paper Pumpkin FREE plus 4 Sale-A-Bration level 1 or a combination of Level 1 and Level 2 items!   Not currently a subscriber?  Consider a 3-month pre-paid subscription to try it out!

Here’s the video showing the use of the Blender Pen to color the squirrel:

All products (except the Special Day dies which go live on Feb 4) are available in my On-Line store.

Fun With Masking

Hi!  Sorry I’ve been MIA this past month – I was focused on one aspect of my business and let this one slide – and that just isn’t right.  So, I am back today – and will hopefully do a better job of posting more regularly for you.

Today’s card features masking!  I love to create different size/shape masks using my framelits.

Thanksgiving, Friendship, Gather Together, Masking, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this one, I started with a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 piece of cardboard cut from a piece that comes in the Designer Series Paper packs.  Ran this through with the Rectangle Nested Dies.   I then cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock the same size and laid the cardboard over the top.  This allowed me to sponge my background using Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry inks.

I stamped the Wheat from the Gather Together Stamp Set and die cut the leaves from Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler card stock.  To get the coloring in the leaves, gently push the die into the coordinating color ink pad prior to laying it on the cardstock.   I also die cut one leaf in Basic Black.

Given that Thanksgiving is approaching at the end of this month, I think this is a perfect Fall Card to let a special someone know how much I appreciate them.

Here is a video showing how this card is made:

Here’s the Bird!

Hi!  Today I have another card featuring the Free as a Bird Bundle!

Birds, Hello, Friendship, Laser Cut Card, Free As A Bird, Stampin' Up!, SU!

I love the coordinating Laser Cut Lace cards that are part of the Bird Ballad Suite – they are just gorgeous!

For this card, I layered a piece of Soft Seafoam behind the laser cut front.  The birds are stamped with Jet Black StaZon ink and colored with Watercolor Pencils and a blender pen.   They were then die cut with the Stitched Nested Labels that are part of the bundle.  A piece of Soft Suede is used for the mat.  The sentiment is also die cut and a small piece of Linen Thread finishes it off.

This is one of the cards we will be making at June’s Card Club on June 29th.  If you are interested in joining me, send me an email and I’ll give you the details.  Registration ends on June 24th.

Did you know Stampin’ Up! has created bundles to make ordering all the products in a suite easier?  Now you just need to order the Bird Ballad Suite to get the stamp set, dies, Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, Bird Ballad trinkets and the tin of Laser Cut cards!  How awesome is that!

Hope you enjoyed today’s post!

Goodbye Little Bear

Hi!  Back today with a card featuring the retiring A Little Wild and the coordinating dies.

Animals, A Little Wild, Puzzle Pieces, Stampin' Up!, SU!

This little guy is just adorable and I am going to miss him as he is retiring June 3.  You still have a few days left to pick him up!

For this card, I stamped the elements in Jet Black StaZon ink and used Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to color.  The bear is stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White and die cut.  You will need to trim around his ear, as the dies are for tags – but we weren’t using his back side.  The background image was then run through the Big Shot with the Puzzle Pieces framelit.

TIP:  The best way to keep these all together, while the pieces are still in the die, apply your adhesive to the backside.  Remove the puzzle pieces you do not want, and then place over your mat layer and push the pieces down.  This way, you do not have to reassemble the puzzle!

The puzzle is layered on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that has been embossed with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this folder!  A MUST HAVE for everyone!

The base is a piece of Whisper White Thick card stock measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half.

Don’t forget to shop my On-Line store for your favorites before they are gone in just 2 short days!

Coffee with a Twist

Hi!  How are you today?  I hope doing well!  Today I have a card featuring the retiring Coffee Cafe stamp set and coordinating dies.  I had seen this background technique a while ago but hadn’t gotten around to trying it just recently and loved it!  So easy and so fun!  Just imagine the different colors you could do.

Coffee, Coffee Cafe, Friends, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For this background, I dragged the edge of Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso inkpads back and forth across a piece of Whisper White card stock.  That’s all there is to it!

The sentiment and cup outline are stamped in Early Espresso ink on Pear Pizzazz card stock.  The straw and foam are stamped in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White cardstock.  The coordinating dies are used to cut out all the pieces.

The background is matted on Early Espresso card stock and the base is thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half.

I am sad to see this set go – it is a great set for many occasions.  If you haven’t added it to your collection yet, click on the product link below to get to my store and get it before it is gone.  June 3rd is your last chance!

Hello, Hello, Hello!

Hi!  Had a little fun yesterday playing with the Calligraphy Essentials stamp set and heat embossing!

Calligraphy Essentials, Hello, Stampin' Up!, SU!, Heat Emboss

I stamped the Hello from in Versamark on a piece of Vellum Cardstock, sprinkled White Embossing Powder and heat set with the heat tool.  I then flipped the vellum over, and sponged Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay ink on the back.   A fun and quick technique.

The vellum is mounted on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  The base is Poppy Parade and I used a scrap of Designers Series Paper from the Painted Seasons Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Pack.  The rhinestones are colored with Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends.

Did you know you can now choose the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper with a $50 order as your Sale-A-Bration reward?  Buy hurry!  Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31st!

A Little More Traditional

Hi!  As promised, today I have a little more traditional color combination using the Incredible Like You stamp set.  Maybe this one will appeal to you more.

Friends, Incredible Like You, #DIstINKtiveStamps, #2019Occasions, Stampin' Up!, SU!

For these two cards, I used Garden Green and Crushed Curry as my color scheme.  Still love the look of the DistINKtive stamps as it really makes it easy to show the details of the flowers without having to figure out my own color combination.

I did demonstrate how I made the card on the left in this video:

I colored the rhinestones with the Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends to place around the sentiment.  I think it adds a nice touch.

I do like how the “So Glad we Are Friends” card turned out – that I made 20 of them with a different sentiment for my Mother-in-Law to use as she recovers from surgery.  Here they are:

Thank You, Incredible Like You, #DistINKtivestamps, #simplestamping, #2019Occasions, Stampin' Up!, SU!

If my Crumb Cake card using this set didn’t inspire you, perhaps these cards will.

If you have other color combinations you’d like to suggest, let me know!  I see myself using this set quite a bit!
