Flora Thanks

Hi!  How are you?  Today I am back participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights!  The theme is Thanks and here is the card I have created:

Thtanks, Two-Tone Flora, Shimmer, #kyliesinternationalhighlights, Stampin' Up!, #JanAprilMini2023

I love the new Texture Shimmer Paper in the January-April Mini catalog – and paired it here with the Fancy Flora 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper.

I decided to pull the colors from the Fancy Flora paper for my stamped images from the Two Tone Flora stamp set that coordinates with the Designer Series Paper.   I used Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral for my flower and Soft Succulent for the leaves.  These are die-cut with the coordinating dies.

I wanted to bring some shimmer to the flower to match the shimmer from the Textured paper, so I colored the flower with Clear Wink of Stella.  Not sure how easy it is to see in the picture, but it does sparkle in real life.

Two Tone Flora, Thank You, Stampin' Up!, #JanAprilMini2023

The sentiment is from Artistically Inked in the Annual Catalog and stamped in Calypso Coral ink.  It is die cut using the Scalloped Contours Dies.    To finish the card, 3 Rhinestones were colored with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend and placed in the upper right corner of the sentiment.

Card dimensions:

  • Base – Balmy Blue – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folder
  • Balmy Blue Textured Shimmer – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper – 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″

If you like my card, I’d love for you to vote for it in Kylie’s Highlights post here: https://bit.ly/February2023VoteforMe  Just click on the heart in the upper right corner to cast your vote.

If Friends Were Pumpkins

Hi!  Today I am excited to playing along in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights!   I haven’t participated in quite a while – so am thankful to have this opportunity to participate this month.

Our theme is Thank You.  I chose to use the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalog.

Fall, Friendship. Thanks, Pretty Pumpkins, Stampin' Up! SU!, #JulyDec2021Mini

Have you seen or tried the Stampin’ Blends and  Alcohol technique?  That is what I used to create my background for this card.  Scribble your Stampin’ Blends on a piece of Vellum Cardstock.  Then use a Water Painter filled with 91% or higher rubbing alcohol to drip, pounce or swirl through the ink to move and blend it.   You will need to let air dry completely – overnight would be best – before using.

For this card, I used the Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Blends.

Once it has dried, I stamped the leaves and sentiment from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set in Early Espresso ink.

The pumpkins are stamped in Cajun Craze ink on Cajun Craze card stock and die cut.  The leaves are die cut from Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Crushed Curry, and Cherry Cobbler card stock.

The vellum is mounted on a piece of Basic White card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The base of the card is Early Espresso and measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.

If you like my card, I’d appreciate your vote.  If I make the Top 10, I’ll be able to participate in a blog hop with the other winners later this month.  To vote, simply head over here and click on the heart in the upper corner for my card.

If you are ready to work on fall projects, consider purchasing the Pretty Pumpkins bundle.  Just click on the link in the Products list below to be taken to my store.

Don’t forget, we are in the final month of Sale-A-Bration – so a $50 purchase (US, prior to S/H and tax) earns you a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  This offer ends on Sept 30 – so don’t wait!

You Make Life Better

Hi!  Today I am participating in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights for October.  I decided to share this card using the Faux Woodburning Technique I saw done by France Martin.

Nature, Friendship, Thanks, Rooted in Nature, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #FacebookLive, Faux Woodburning

I think this is a great technique for masculine cards.  The tree is from Rooted In Nature while the sentiment is from the Field Journal stamp set.

You’ll need Watercolor Paper, a water painter, Early Espresso ink and a Stamparatus.  That’s it!

Use the Stamparatus to align your image on the Watercolor paper.  Ink with Early Espresso and stamp.  Repeat this 2-3 times to make sure you have a good amount of ink on your paper.

Run the water painter back and forth (side-to-side, left-to-right or right-to-left) over the image to cover your watercolor paper. This pulls some of the Early Espresso ink over the paper giving that Woodburning look.

Here’s a video where I share this technique:

If you are so inclined, I’d love your vote for my card in Kylie’s Highlights.  Simply head over here and click on the heart in the upper right hand corner of my card to vote for it. It is Number 48.  Make sure you check out all the other entries!

I’m So Glad

Hi!  Today I am hopping with the winner’s from September’s International Blog Highlights!  I am so excited to be part of this month’s Top 10.   I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you.

To say thanks – I made this card for YOU!

Friendship, Fall, Love of Leaves, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #Sept2020BlogHopWinner, #2020AugDecMini

You see, I love creating cards, stamping and sharing my knowledge with you in the hopes of inspiring you and bringing out your creativity.  So, yes, I am so glad you are in my life!

For this card, I used a few different techniques.  We will start with the background.  I ran my Crumb Cake ink pad over the inside front of my Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, placed my Whisper White card stock inside then ran it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.   This is layered on Early Espresso card stock which is layered on Thick Whisper White card stock.

For the leaves, I used the Love Of Leaves stamp set from the August-December mini and the Baby Wipe technique.  Using generic baby wipes (these are the best as they typically do not have a design in them that you could inadvertently pick up when doing this technique – ask me how I know), drop ink from different colors of reinkers on to folded baby wipes (I used 3 wipes to make my pad).  The colors for the leaves are Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Garden Green.  Make sure the area you cover with the reinkers is large enough for your largest stamp.  These baby wipes become your ink pad.  Ink the stamps using the baby wipes and stamp on Whisper White card stock.  This is a fun technique.  The more you use the baby wipe, the more blended your colors will become.   You can watch this video here to see how I created my ink pad (the first part of the video is the creation of the pad):

I then die cut the leaves using the coordinating Stitched Leaves dies.   I also die cut the largest leaf from Cajun Craze card stock.   These are adhered together using Seal Adhesive.  A piece of Linen Thread is tied around the top of the leaves.  They are attached to the card front using dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink on a  strip of Whisper White card stock.  The left end is punched using the Banners Pick A Punch.  A small strip of Early Espresso is placed behind the sentiment.

A little leaf from the In Good Taste Embellishment pack is used to finish off the card.

Thank you so much for being a part of my stamping family!  I truly do appreciate your support and am so happy you are part of my life.

Make sure you check out the rest of the winners!

You Make the World

Hi!  Today I am excited to be participating in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights!  Our theme this month is THANK YOU!   I loved this sentiment from the Beautiful World and thought I don’t appreciate the men in my life enough – so here is a card to do so.

I started with the new Cinnamon Cider In Color for the base of my card stock.  This is a very warm color  and thought it fitting for the card.   The base is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 1 1/4″ and 4 1/4″ along the 8 1/2″ side.  The card is folded in the middle at 4 1/4″.   Fold back on the front panel on the 1 1/4″ score line.

I used the World of Good Specialty Designer Paper for my three strips.  The first strip is 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″, the green strip is 1″ x 5 1/4″ and the Black and Gold grid is 1″ x 5 1/4″.

The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Cinnamon Cider ink and die cut using the Stitched Shapes dies.  This is layerd on a Basic Black square.  This is adhered to the folded front flap so it hangs over the edge of the flap.

The world is die cut using Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso cardstock.  It is attached to the front with dimensionals.

To see how I made the card, it is the second one in this video:

A Honey of a Thanks

Hi!  Today I am hopping with the March International Highlight Winners!  Thank you so much for voting for my card earlier this month which granted me the honor of participating in today’s Blog Hop!

Our theme is: Thanks!

Thanks, Honey Bee, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020Occasions, #InternationalBlogHop

I love the Honey Bee Suite in the Occasions Catalog and decided to use that for today’s Thanks card.   The Striped Designer Series Paper is from the Golden Honey DSP pack.  The hive is stamped in Crushed Curry ink.  The bees are stamped in Jet Black StaZon and colored with the Crushed Curry marker.  I used markers direct to stamp to color the flower – Old Olive for the leaves and Highland Heather for the flower.

The tag is made using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch.  The sentiment is from the Beauty Abounds stamp set.  Daffodil Delight ribbon finish it off.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Make sure to hop on over to the rest of this month’s winners to see what they have created for you.

Friend Like You

Hi!  Today I am happy to be participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights!  I haven’t been able to do this in quite a while and am so excited to take part again!

My card for you today features the Positive Thoughts stamps and coordinating dies (the dies are only available until March 31 – so get them soon!)

Positivie Thoughts, Thank You, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020Occasions, #internationalbloghighlights

I used the double time stamping technique to stamp the corner of this card.  It is easy to do and a fun technique.  Simply layer the two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock on top of each other and stamp.  Then insert a Soft Suede mat layer behind the top panel.  This allows the pattern to align.

The base layer is Soft Suede and Very Vanilla is my neutral.  The leaves are stamped in Pool Party ink and generational stamping is used.   So Saffron Ink is sponged lightly over the layers.  The butterfly is stamped in Soft Suede.

I colored the pearls with light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend – here is a close-up view:

Here’s a video of this technique along with a bonus card:

I’d love your vote for my card over in Kylie’s gallery.  Simply hop over to the gallery here and click on the HEART in the corner of my card to vote for my project.

Don’t forget, Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31!!  FREE exclusive Sale-A-Bration products with a minimum $50 order.

A Lemon For Teacher?

Hi!  Today I am playing along in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights!  Our theme this month is Teachers!   If you like my card, I’d love your vote!  You can vote here  and then click on the heart in the upper right corner of my card.

Ok – so here’s my card:

Teachers, Apples, Lemon Zest, Stampin' Up!, SU!

School starts at the end of this month for my kids, so now is a good time be thinking of back-to-school cards and gifts.

I didn’t really have an apple set or anything else teacher related – so I turned my lemons into apples!  That’s right – I stamped the lemon from the Lemon Zest stamp set in Real Red ink, punched with the Lemon Builder Punch and then trimmed top and bottom to make an apple.  I added a stem using a scrap of Early Espresso card stock.  The leaves are stamped in Old Olive.  What do you think?  Pretty clever?

I added a Welcome sentiment using the Banners For You stamp set and the Duo Banner punch.

The apples are attached to a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Tropical Escape Paper Stack that measures 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.   This is mounted on Early Espresso Card Stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The base is Old Olive Card stock measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ – scored and folded at 4 1/4″.

Make sure you check out all the other demonstrators for more fun Teacher themed projects!

You’ll find all the supplies to make this card in my on-line store.

Don’t forget it is Bonus Days time and each $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) you spend this month, earns you a $5 coupon to use in September.

It’s All About Love

Hi!  Welcome to the March International Project Highlight Winner’s Blog Hop!  Thank you so much for voting for me in March’s Highlight!  I made the Top 10 and am able to participate in this month’s Blog Hop!

Our theme is Love and here is the card I made for today:

Anniversary, Love, Garden Trellis, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Sweet & Sassy, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #internatiionalprojecthighlights

Since my winning card was for a wedding, I decided to continue on to an Anniversary!  I wanted warm colors for this card – so used Very Vanilla for the base – 4 1/4 x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″  and the embossed panel.  The embossing is done with the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder and the panel measures 4 x 5 1/4″.

Linen thread is wrapped around the panel.  The hearts are die cut with the Sweet and Sassy Framelits and the edges are sponged with Blushing Bride ink.  A few little pearls are placed along the edge of the heart.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes – a must have in anyone’s collection – and is stamped in Blushing Bride ink.  This is punched out with the Classic Label punch.   It is layered on a Crumb Cake Classic Label punch that was cut in half and attached to the back to provide the edging at the end.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Make sure you hop over to check out the rest of the winner’s posts!
