Love You, Miss You

Hi!  Sorry I’m a  few days late, but I am back with a card featuring the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper pack today.  I LOVE this paper – it is gorgeous and perfect for Fall cards and Birthdays.

Isn’t this card gorgeous?  The only stamping is the sentiment which is heat embossed in White.

Ok, so if you haven’t done the Book Binding Fold yet, here we go – its pretty easy – but if you don’t understand something, please leave a comment and I’ll be happy to answer your question.

  • Basic Black – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ – score at 3 3/4″ and 4 1/4″.
  • Merry Merlot Card Stock – 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
  • Designer Series Paper – 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″

Wrap a piece of Black and White Gingham Ribbon in the 1/2″ between the two score lines.  Fold in on the 4 1/4″ as you normally would to close the card.  Fold back on the 3 3/4″ score line.  This is now where your card will open.   Run Tear and Tape over the Ribbon on the inside of the card – you may need 2 strips – and then close the card to “bind” it.

Cut the Merry Merlot into 2 pieces at 2 3/4″ along the 4 3/4″ side.  Cut the Designer Paper at 2 1/2″ from the top along the 4 1/4″ side.  Attach the Designer Paper to the Merry Merlot.   Attach the two pieces to the Base of the card leaving an opening between them for the sentiment.

Stamp your sentiment in VersaMark ink between the two images.  Sprinkle with White Embossing powder and heat emboss.

Attach a piece of Basic White paper  3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside of your card.

I shared this technique with a group of ladies and they all loved it.  I hope you do, too!

You Are A Blessing

Hi!  I just wanted to let you know that you are a Blessing to me!  I thank you so much for supporting my Stampin’ Up! business – whether it is by leaving a comment, a like, reading my post, my newsletter, or making a purchase.   I hope I have inspired you along the way.

I created this card using the Rustic Harvest Suite in the July-December Mini Catalog.  The only stamping is the sentiment.  That is stamped in Jet Black StaZon ink on a scrap of Basic White and punched with the Double Oval punch.  That is attached to the larger oval from that punch on a piece of Mossy Meadow scrap.

I love the look of the pumpkin – there are slight impressions in the die – which can be seen better in this picture:

I love the texture that adds to the card.

To make it easier to attach the curly vines, apply a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Mossy Meadow scrap before die-cutting.  This way, the adhesive is already on the vine and you can just peel it off and attach.

Here are the dimensions:

  • Base – Mossy Meadow – 4 ¼” x 11”, score and fold at 5 ½”.
  • Basic White – 4” x 5 ¼” – 2 pieces
  • Designer Series Paper –  3 ¾”” x 6 ½”, score at 5” and fold up
  • Basic White scrap for sentiment
  • Cajun Craze scrap for pumpkin die cuts
  • Mossy Meadow – scrap for vine and stem die cuts and oval punch

Yes, the Black and White piece is the backside of the Designer Series Paper – allowing you to score and fold up to see both sides.  Conversely, if you’d rather not use that much DSP, you can cut two separate pieces – the first measuring 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″, the second measuring 3 3/4″ x 1 1/2″.  This should allow a 1/4″ overlap of the two pieces which is covered by the ribbon.

The second piece of Basic White is used for the inside of the card – as this is a dark color base, it is good to use a piece of Basic White on  which to write your message.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, Stampin’ Up! has announced Weekly Deals for the month of September -the first set of deals is available now with the next being released on Sept 8.  My favorite this week is the Kraft Note Card & Envelope set which includes 20 note cards and envelopes AND comes in a Kraft box!  This is perfect for creating a card set to gift this holiday season.  Check them out and all the rest before the new deals release on Sept 8.

Special Note

Hi!  Happy Hump Day!

Today I have a card I made using the Splendid Day suite in the July-December Mini Catalog.  I love how it turned out.  Stampin’ Up! offered a virtual crafting day featuring this suite and this card was inspired from that.  I made a few minor tweaks – but not many.

Special Day, Brick Wall, Just A Note, Just Because, Friendship. Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2022JulyDecMini

The background for the card is created using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″.  After running it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine, use a Blending Brush and White Craft ink to rub ink in some spots.

Before die cutting the Basic White leaves, attach a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the back – this will make it so much easier to attach to the Calypso Coral cardstock.

Stamp the leaves and flowers in Jet Black StaZon ink on Soft Seafoam and Petal  Pink cardstock respectively.  Die cut with coordinating dies.  Use the half-circle die from the set to die cut a piece of the Designer Series Paper – pick your favorite pattern.

Stamp the sentiment in Jet Black StaZon on a scrap of Basic White and punch with the Double Oval punch.

The base is a piece of Basic White Thick cardstock, cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.

Wrap a piece of Soft Seafoam Seam Binding ribbon around the Calypso Coral piece and tie a knot.

Attach the Calypso Coral embossed piece to the base.

Arrange the die cut pieces and attach using Seal or dimensionals.

Attach the half circle near the middle and offset the sentiment to the left.

A simple, but elegant card to brighten someone’s day!

Today is also the last day of Sale-A-Bration – so if you haven’t placed your order yet, get it in so you don’t miss out on the FREE goodies you can earn with a $50 or $100 order (US, prior to S/H and tax).  Just click on any product below to get to my store.
