Have I Told You?

You are Wonderful!

Just wanted to end the work week letting you know how wonderful you are – and this card is for YOU!

Hues of Happiness, Happiness Abounds, Artistically Inked, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2022AnnualCatalog, #retiring

I shared this card on this week’s Facebook Live – I just love the Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper and am sad to see it along with the Happiness Abounds bundle leaving us this month.  If you haven’t snagged the paper, do it soon!  It pairs well with the Artistically Inked set which is carrying over for another year.

The dimensions for this card:

  • Base – Night of Navy – 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″ and fold.
  • Basic White – 4″ x 5 1/4″ (for inside of card)
  • Basic White – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and 2″ x 2″
  • Designer Series Paper – 4″ x 2 3/4″, 4″ x 2 3/4″
  • Night of Navy – 2 1/8″ x 2 1/8″

For the 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ square – ink the leaves from Artistically Ink in Granny Apple Green then roll the edges in Mossy Meadow then stamp on card stock.  Clean stamp off before repeating in all 4 corners.

Stamp the sentiment from Happiness Abounds in Night of Navy Ink on 2″ square.  Stamp small flowers from Artistically Inked in Daffodil Delight, clean stamp and repeat with Pool Party ink.

Adhere the two pieces of Designer Series Paper so the total length is 5 1/4″.  If needed, you could attach the pieces to a layer of card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ to help with alignment.  Wrap a piece of Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon where the two layers meet.   Attach to card base.

Adhere the leaf image to the base as shown on card.   Use dimensionals to attach the sentiment.

A very quick card that is sure to Wow friends and family with how gorgeous it looks.

If you haven’t tried the Rock-N-Roll technique used for the leaves, here is the video:

Time for the Beach

Hi!  How are you?  Yesterday I posted my Top 10 must haves from the retiring Annual Catalog and already the Stamparatus and Forever Fern stamp set are sold out!   Over 50 products sold out yesterday – WOW!  If you haven’t checked out what is retiring – do it now!

Today, I have a card featuring the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder- part of my number 1 in the Top 10 yesterday.

This folder is simply stunning.  I took a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor paper, spritzed it with water and then applied ink with a Water Pen before running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine to emboss it with the Seashells 3D folder.  The colors used are Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand (the last 3 are retiring this month).   The die cuts are from  the Seaside Bay die set in the January-April Mini.  The sentiment is from Happy Labels also in the Mini.  The ribbon is from the Old Olive and Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon Combo Pack.

The base of the card is Sahara Sand measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.  A layer of Mint Macaron (also retiring)  measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ is matted behind the Watercolor Paper – which measures 3 3/4″ x 5″.

I love how much the By the Bay suite in the Mini coordinates with the soon-to-be retired Friends are Like Seashells products.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Top 10

Hi!  Well, today is the day – the Last Chance List for the Annual Catalog is now live and I thought I’d share my Top 10 (ok, so maybe I cheated a little) – I’m sad to see go and that you might want to check out:

1) Friends Are Like Seashells – Stamp Set, Dies (Seaside Seashells), and Seashells 3D Embossing Folder – I truly LOVE these 3 products and am sad to see them go.  The ability to add detail to the shells and die cut them sold me on this bundle when it first came out.

2) Stitched Greenery Die – This is a single die that leaves a subtle background and I used it for all card types – from Christmas to Sympathy to birthday – it just adds a sweet touch – whether used on an accent piece or the full background.  I think this die got overlooked by quite a few people.

3) Split Card Dies – this is another die set that I think is easy to overlook.  I know I did when the catalog first came out last year.  The lattice looking die went so well over Designer Series Paper – especially the bold ones – to give it a stunning look.

4) Forever Fern Stamp Set & Forever Flourishing Dies– I can’t tell you how many times I have used this set – it is perfect for Sympathy, Thinking of You and works in so many different color schemes.

5) Stamparatus – while I haven’t often demonstrated this on my Facebook Lives – I use this especially for mass production – from little stamps to big – it is the perfect tool for these projects.

6) Layering Circles and Stitched Rectangle Dies – these are a staple in my paper crafting and am so sad to see them go.  If you don’t already have these two sets  – grab them – you won’t regret it.  Did you know the Stitched Rectangles fit inside the Scalloped Contour die cuts?

7) Pear Pizzazz and Pale Papaya – two of my favorite ink colors.  Tho I have hope that Pale Papaya may make it back in a future color refresh.  Make sure you grab a re-inker and card stock for any of your favorites that are leaving us.

8) Nothing’s Better Than – stamps and Love You More Than coordinating dies – cookies, chocolate, coffee and cocktails – all in one set – need I say more?

9) Count On Me Stamp Set – love this set for sending encouragement to others.  Being someone on the path of surviving breast cancer, I found this set perfect for creating cards for others on the same path.

10) Happiness Abounds – such a gorgeous suite of products – from the Designer Series Paper to the font on the sentiments – I am surprised this is not carrying over.

There you have it – my Top 10 from the Annual Catalog.  If you are missing any of these in your collection, shop today!  These are all available while supplies last.

Unique and Amazing You

Hi!  It’s been a whirlwind this week as Stampin’ Up! announced their color refresh as well as the Last Chance lists for the Annual and Mini catalogs.   I had planned on posting this card on Wednesday – and got wrapped up in all the excitement and here we are on Friday finally posting.  I hope you don’t mind the delay.

WV Fold, Friends are Like Seashells, By The Bay, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #annualcatalog2022, #retiringsoon

I found this new-to-me fold and fell in LOVE that I had to share with my Facebook followers Tuesday night.  The fold is called a WV fold and here is why:

WV Fold, Friendship, Friends are Like Seashells,, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #retiringsoon

When the card is open, the front of the card makes a W and the inside pop-out makes a V.   Isn’t that fun?

Ok, so let’s get to the details:

  • Base – Pool Party – 5 1/2″ x 11″, score at 1 3/4″, 3 1/2″, 5 1/4″ and 7″
  • V panel – Pool Party – 6″ x 3″, score at 3″
  • Basic White – 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ (need 3)
  • Optional – Pool Party 3″ x 3″ for mat on inside white panel
  • Designers Series Paper – 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ – 4 pieces – can start with 1 piece 5 1/4″ x 6″ and cut into 4 1 1/2″ strips as shown above, or can mix and match prints similar to the card in the video below
  • Designer Series Paper – 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside back panel.

For this card, I paired the soon-to-be retired (sadness), Friends are Like Seashells and the Seaside Bay (carrying over from the Mini to the new Annual Catalog – yay!).  The seashells and sand on the front are stamped as follows:  sand – Sahara Sand, Conch – Petal Pink, larger shell – So Saffron, small shell – Sahara Sand.  The sand and shells on the second panel are also stamped in Sahara Sand.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

To see how to assemble the card, here’s the video:

If you are interested in the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set, I highly recommend getting the coordinating dies and the 3D Embossing Folder as well.  While I do not use them on this project, you will want all 3 products for your crafting.  Here’s a card using the embossing folder.  The dies and folder will be on sale starting April 4.  Please note that both Sahara Sand and So Saffron are retiring from our core color lines – so make sure to add a reinker and card stock to your order if you are running low.

I hope you enjoyed today’s fun fold and give it a go.

Happy Thoughts

Hi!  As we come up on the end of the January-June Mini Catalog (it’s retiring on June 30th), I wanted to point out the Happy Thoughts stamp set.  This stamp set contains sentiments for both the inside and outside of your card, making it the perfect addition to your papercrafting Go-To’s.

Happy Thoughts, Any Occasion, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JanJune21Mini

This card features the gorgeous Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper – also retiring on June 30.  The Paper is cut using the Quite Curvy Dies – also disappearing on June 30.

And why did I not notice before how well Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape coordinate?  I guess I don’t often reach for the purples in my collection – but I might just do that a little more as I love this combination.

This is a quick and simple card, but by adding a dash of ribbon (sorry, it is already retired) and Pastel Pearls (Yay! These carried over to the 2021 Annual Catalog), you have a gorgeous card ready to send that can be made in about 10 minutes.

Here are the dimensions and scoring:

  • Base: Gorgeous Grape – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side and folded
  • Layer: Highland Heather – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Designer Series Paper – 5 1/4″ x 3″ and cut with the Quite Curvy dies

Add some bling and your sentiment- and you are done!

Make sure you check out the Last Chance list for the Jan-June Mini catalog and grab your favorites (some at a discount!), before they are gone!

In The Field

Hi!  Today I am saying goodbye to a few more of my favorite stamps and embossing folder.  I shared these cards in my Facebook Live last night.

Field Journal, Masculine, Thank You, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

The main images are from the Field Journal stamp set.   I wanted to show that the set could be used for feminine cards as well as masculine.  I also incorporate Here’s A Card – a great sentiment set for both the front and inside of the card as well as the Swirly Frames stamp set – great for adding a little punch to your cards.  I decided to use the same color palate for both cards – Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler.

Both pieces of Cherry Cobbler have been embossed.  The berry card uses the Old World Paper Embossing Folder – love the texture you get from this folder.  The Chipmunk uses the Subtle Embossing Folder – a little hard to see in this picture – but does add a nice touch to the overall card.  I am sad to see both folders leaving our line-up next week.

If you are missing any of these products, simply click on them below to go to my store and add them to your cart.  They are truly a great addition to your crafting stash!

Here’s the video showing both cards and how they are made:

Sunshine on A Rainy Day

Hi and Good Morning!  It is a rainy Saturday here for me and I could use a little brightening up – so decided to share with you today this fun interactive card featuring one of my favorite sets that is sadly retiring on May 3.

Just Because, Friendship. Under My Umbrella, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

The images for this card are from the Under My Umbrella stamp set.  The set along with the coordinating Umbrella Builder punch are both leaving us on May 3.    I die cut squares using the two largest stitched squares from the Stitched Shapes Dies (also retiring on May 3).

The boots and flowers are stamped with Black Memento Ink and colored with the following Stampin’ Blends:  Real Red, Pool Party, Old Olive and So Saffron.

I did mention the card is interactive – if you pull on the ribbon, the boots flip open to reveal this:

A Happy Soul

Hi!  Today I am sharing a card using the retiring Pigment Sprinkles and the retiring Tasteful Textures bundle.  I am sad to see both of these products leave as they make beautiful cards.

Happy, Flowers, Watercolor, Pigment Sprinkles, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2019AnnualCatalog, Tasteful Textures, Tasteful Backgrounds

The background is created using the Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo Pigment sprinkles, Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water.  The fun thing about using these sprinkles, every background you create will be different – even when using the same products.   There is a video at the end of this post that shows you how it is created.

Once your watercolor paper has dried, die cut it with the largest Stitched Circle die.  While you are at, cut one from Whisper White card stock as well.  Before putting your die cutting machine aside, take the Whisper White circle, and run it through with the petal die from the Tasteful Backgrounds coordinating die set.

Using the same watercolor paper, punch the leaves and flowers and set aside.

Using a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White card stock, stamp your sentiment in the lower right corner with Gray Granite ink (this has become my new favorite neutral).  Also, use the lined stamp from the Tasteful Textures stamp set and stamp on the top where the circle will go.  This adds just a little something around the circle and brings in the neutral of the sentiment.

The base is a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.

Here’s the video on creating the background and flowers and putting the card together.
