Thanks Doesn’t Cover It

but what else can I say?  Today I hit 1500 followers on my Facebook page.  I am humbled and appreciative that so many people have found my page and feel that the information, demonstrations and projects I share are worth their time.  Wow!

Happiness Abounds, Retired, Stampin' Up! SU!, #2022AnnualCatalog

I shared this card two weeks ago to showcase the soon-to-be retired Happiness Abounds bundle.  Since then, the stamp set has sold out – but hopefully the layout or color scheme will inspire you today.

The base for the card is Fresh Freesia – happy to say, you will find this color in the Subtles family in the new catalog!  I have paired it with Gorgeous Grape – not a color I use very often, but I love how this one turned out.  You can’t see it in this picture, but the Gorgeous Grape was die cut with the Stitched Greenery die – which is retiring and was on my Top 10 list.  I love this die and am sad to see it go.  If you don’t have it, grab it before it is gone!

The designer series paper is the Hues of Happiness which is gorgeous and makes stunning cards on its own – grab a pack – you won’t be disappointed.  A piece of Fresh Freesia Ribbon is attached on the back side running over the edge of the DSP.

The layer behind the stamped image is also a piece of DSP from that pack.  The flower and sentiment are stamped in Jet Black StazOn on Basic White card stock .  The flower is colored with the Watercolor Pencils – Assortment 2.

A trio of Glossy Dots are used to finish off the card.  I don’t often offset the mat behind my stamped images, but I do like how it looks here.

We are just 2 short weeks away from the launch of the new Annual Catalog – so make sure you grab any retiring products that haven’t sold out yet soon!  Actually, Wed. April 19 would be a great day to do that as Stampin’ Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING on orders of $75 or more (US).

What To Do With Scraps

Hi!  As promised, I am back today with my second card featuring the Biggest Wish stamp set.

If you are like me and save even 1/2″ scraps of our gorgeous Designer Series Paper, then I have a card for you!

Scraps, Deisgn Series Paper, Biggest Wish, Thanks, Stampin' Up!,, SU!, #22-23AnnualCatalog

I love the pop of bright colors from the Flowers & More Designer Series Paper (host item in the January-April Mini 2023).  To create the panel, cut a piece of Basic Black card stock, 4″ x 2 1/4″ and grab coordinating strips of DSP that are 1/2″ wide.  Adhere the strips at an angle on the Basic Black card stock leaving a small gap between each strip.  Use your Paper Trimmer to cut off the strips that overhang the Basic Black.

The base of this card is Polished Pink – one of our retiring In Colors, cut at 4 1/4″ x 11, scored at 5 1/2″ and folded.   The Basic Black panel is adhered in the middle of the card.

Emboss two pieces of Basic White card stock measuring 1 3/4″ x 4″ with the Thanks folder from the Thanks & Hello pack.  I moved each piece to a different area to get different languages on each piece.  Attach these to the card front using dimensionals.

The FRIEND is stamped in Polished Pink and then thanks is stamped in Blackberry Bliss overlapping slightly at the top.  A Stitched Rectangle die is used to die cut the sentiment.  Please note that I moved the die over and cut a second time to fit around the sentiment.

What do you think of today’s card?   Check back tomorrow – I’ll have my 3rd and final card with this set.

Flora Thanks

Hi!  How are you?  Today I am back participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights!  The theme is Thanks and here is the card I have created:

Thtanks, Two-Tone Flora, Shimmer, #kyliesinternationalhighlights, Stampin' Up!, #JanAprilMini2023

I love the new Texture Shimmer Paper in the January-April Mini catalog – and paired it here with the Fancy Flora 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper.

I decided to pull the colors from the Fancy Flora paper for my stamped images from the Two Tone Flora stamp set that coordinates with the Designer Series Paper.   I used Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral for my flower and Soft Succulent for the leaves.  These are die-cut with the coordinating dies.

I wanted to bring some shimmer to the flower to match the shimmer from the Textured paper, so I colored the flower with Clear Wink of Stella.  Not sure how easy it is to see in the picture, but it does sparkle in real life.

Two Tone Flora, Thank You, Stampin' Up!, #JanAprilMini2023

The sentiment is from Artistically Inked in the Annual Catalog and stamped in Calypso Coral ink.  It is die cut using the Scalloped Contours Dies.    To finish the card, 3 Rhinestones were colored with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend and placed in the upper right corner of the sentiment.

Card dimensions:

  • Base – Balmy Blue – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folder
  • Balmy Blue Textured Shimmer – 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper – 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″

If you like my card, I’d love for you to vote for it in Kylie’s Highlights post here: https://bit.ly/February2023VoteforMe  Just click on the heart in the upper right corner to cast your vote.

Don’t forget, we are still Sale-A-Brating with FREE products when you place a minimum $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) order in my on-line store.

This Or That – CAS Style

Hi!  Today I am sharing 2 cards with you to see which one you prefer – This or That – Clean and Simple Style.

THIS: Textured Background

Squared Away, Floral Squares, Expressions in Ink, Love of Leaves, Thank You, CAS, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog

THAT:  Score Lines

Squared Away, Floral Squares, Expressions in Ink, Love of Leaves, Thank You, CAS, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2021AnnualCatalog

I am finding that I love the Clean and Simple look  and finding that it doesn’t have to be boring – you can add interest with the use of a 3D Embossing Folder – such as the Tasteful Textile folder used in THIS – or by just adding some score lines as seen in THAT.

For both cards, I used the Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper – my favorite in the Annual Catalog and the Floral Squares dies – such a fun set of dies (they are bundled with the All Squared Away stamp set which makes cute backgrounds for these die cuts as well).  I cut each floral frame twice and attached them together to give the image some dimension.

To make a frame for my image, I chose the Stitched with Whimsy dies.

The sentiment is from the Love of Leaves stamp set – I wanted a small font and this was perfect for the Thank You cards I needed to send for the end of September orders I received.

The main colors for the card are:

  • Basic White – 4 1/4″ x 11″ – score at 5 1/2″ and fold, mat layer 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
  • Evening Evergreen – 5 1/4″ x 4″ for the mat

The Floral Squares measure 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ when cut, so I cut the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper the same size.

So, which look do you like better?  THIS or THAT?  Leave a comment and let me know!

By the way, I am so close to hitting my $200K career sales milestone!  Thank you so much to those who shop with me!

If Friends Were Pumpkins

Hi!  Today I am excited to playing along in Kylie’s International Blog Highlights!   I haven’t participated in quite a while – so am thankful to have this opportunity to participate this month.

Our theme is Thank You.  I chose to use the Pretty Pumpkins Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalog.

Fall, Friendship. Thanks, Pretty Pumpkins, Stampin' Up! SU!, #JulyDec2021Mini

Have you seen or tried the Stampin’ Blends and  Alcohol technique?  That is what I used to create my background for this card.  Scribble your Stampin’ Blends on a piece of Vellum Cardstock.  Then use a Water Painter filled with 91% or higher rubbing alcohol to drip, pounce or swirl through the ink to move and blend it.   You will need to let air dry completely – overnight would be best – before using.

For this card, I used the Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Blends.

Once it has dried, I stamped the leaves and sentiment from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set in Early Espresso ink.

The pumpkins are stamped in Cajun Craze ink on Cajun Craze card stock and die cut.  The leaves are die cut from Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Crushed Curry, and Cherry Cobbler card stock.

The vellum is mounted on a piece of Basic White card stock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″.  The base of the card is Early Espresso and measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.

If you like my card, I’d appreciate your vote.  If I make the Top 10, I’ll be able to participate in a blog hop with the other winners later this month.  To vote, simply head over here and click on the heart in the upper corner for my card.

If you are ready to work on fall projects, consider purchasing the Pretty Pumpkins bundle.  Just click on the link in the Products list below to be taken to my store.

Don’t forget, we are in the final month of Sale-A-Bration – so a $50 purchase (US, prior to S/H and tax) earns you a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  This offer ends on Sept 30 – so don’t wait!

Sweet Strawberries

Hi!  It is strawberry season here in the Northeast US and what couldn’t be sweeter than the Sweet Strawberry Bundle!

In The Field

Hi!  Today I am saying goodbye to a few more of my favorite stamps and embossing folder.  I shared these cards in my Facebook Live last night.

Field Journal, Masculine, Thank You, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

The main images are from the Field Journal stamp set.   I wanted to show that the set could be used for feminine cards as well as masculine.  I also incorporate Here’s A Card – a great sentiment set for both the front and inside of the card as well as the Swirly Frames stamp set – great for adding a little punch to your cards.  I decided to use the same color palate for both cards – Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler.

Both pieces of Cherry Cobbler have been embossed.  The berry card uses the Old World Paper Embossing Folder – love the texture you get from this folder.  The Chipmunk uses the Subtle Embossing Folder – a little hard to see in this picture – but does add a nice touch to the overall card.  I am sad to see both folders leaving our line-up next week.

If you are missing any of these products, simply click on them below to go to my store and add them to your cart.  They are truly a great addition to your crafting stash!

Here’s the video showing both cards and how they are made:

As Promised

Hi!  As promised, today I will share one more layout for using those three strips of Designer Series Paper shown yesterday.  While I used the same stamp set, I did change up the color palette.

Thank You, Dragonfly Garden, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JanJune2021Mini, #dspscrapsThe Designer Series Paper is from the Dandy Garden Designer Series 6″x6″ pack.   I went with Mossy Meadow and Bumble Bee as my color palette for this card.  The Designer Paper strips are staggered behind the stamped panel.

I did enlarge the Bumble Bee layer and added a Basic White layer to add a bit of stamping.  The dragonflies are stamped in Bumble Bee and the sentiment in Mossy Meadow.  The sentiment is part of the Dragonfly Garden stamp set.

If you are looking for another layout using strips, check out this past post – it is also a fun layout to use up scraps.

I would like to thank those of you who have placed orders with me this month and are taking advantage of earning those FREE Sale-A-Bration products!  Just a reminder, that every $50 you spend prior to S/H and tax will earn you a FREE exclusive Sale-A-Bration product.  Shop today to earn yours!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi!  I just wanted to take a minute and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!  I so appreciate your support of my small business with your comments and pins of my projects here on my blog.  For those that follow me on Facebook, thanks for your likes and comments there as well!

Beautiful Autumn, Thanks, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #AugDecMini2020

This is a pretty simply card – but I truly love the clean look to it and the pop of the focal circle image.

A 2″ punch i used to create the circle.  Mint Macaron ink is sponged on the edge (you could also just scrape the edge on the ink pad).   The leaves and acorns are punched from the Gilded Autumn Designer Series Specialty paper.  The leaves behind the circle and in the corner are stamped in Mint Macaron ink.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso.

The base of the card is Thick Very Vanilla measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.  A piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ is first stamped with the small leaf image and then embossed with the Subtle Embossing folder.  The circle is adhered directly to the Very Vanilla layer while the leaves and acorns are attached using mini dimensionals.

This card is for all of you to THANK YOU for your support!
