Kitty Valentine

Hi!  Back today with another Valentine for you – this time using the Love Cats stamp set.

Valentines, Love Cats, Stampin' Up!, #JanApril2023Mini

As a cat lover, I couldn’t resist this stamp set from the Mini Catalog.   They are just so cute.

This card features a play with Patterned Paper – I combined prints from the Country Gingham DSP 6″x6″ pack and the Country Floral Lane DSP 12″x12″ pack.   No surprise that the colors coordinate since they are both part of the Country Floral Lane Suite in the Mini Catalog.

My base is Balmy Blue – measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded.  The gingham strip measures 5 1/2″ x 1″, the Balmy Blue and Mint Macaron Heart piece measures 4″ x 2″, and the Balmy Blue mat behind the cat measures 3″ x 3″.

The cat is stamped in Memento Black ink and the heart is colored with the Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend.  He is die cut with the second largest square from the Stylish Shapes die set.

The sentiment -also from the Love Cats stamp set, is stamped in Memento Black as well.

I had fun playing with the different pieces of Designer Series Paper and hope you are inspired to try the same.

Before I sign-off, I wanted to mention that I am celebrating 18 years as a demonstrator this month and am offering a special for purchase of $50 (prior to S/H and tax) through Feb 10 when made in my on-line store using this link:  https://www.stampinup.com?hostcode=QMC2ZDAY

You will get your choice between two tutorials – one features Fancy Flora from the Mini catalog and the other features He’s the Man from the Annual catalog.    You will also receive a FREE pack of Heart Pearls featured in the Annual Catalog.    I want to THANK YOU for supporting my business and allowing you to share my creativity with you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine Gnomes

Hi!  Happy February!  Hard to believe how quickly January flew by, isn’t it?  We are half-way through Sale-A-Bration – have you earned your FREE products yet?  No?  Well maybe today’s project will inspire you to make a purchase and earn you a FREE product.

Today’s projects are made with the Friendly Gnomes stamp set in the January-April Mini Catalog.

Friendly Gnomes, Valentine's, Treat Package, Stampin' Up! #JanApril2023Mini

I shared how to make this project in my Facebook Live last night – I’ll share the video below.

The dimensions for the treat holder are  4 1/2″ x 5″.  Score on the 5″ side at 1/2″ and 4 1/2″.   On the 4 1/2″ side, score at 1 1/4″ and 1 3/4″.    To make the angle cuts, with the 4 1/2″ side score lines being the bottom of the box, make a mark on each side at 1 1/2″ from the top edge.  Then cut an angle from each of the 1/2″ score lines to the 1 1/2″ mark on the edge.

To make the tabs for the bottom part of the box, cut in on the 1 1/4″ and 1 3/4″ score lines to the 1/2″ score line on both sides.

The Designer Series Paper on the front measures 1 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.

The Gnome is from the Friendly Gnomes set and is stamped in Memento Black ink.  He is colored using the following Stampin’ Blends markers:

  • hat – Light Balmy Blue
  • nose and hands – Deep Natural Tones – the lighter of the two
  • pants and sleeves – Light Night of Navy
  • beard – Light Smoky Slate
  • heart – Dark Real Rd
  • shoes – Dark Smoky Slate
  • sole of shoes – Light Basic Black

He is die cut using the coordinating die from the Gnomes Dies – this is not listed in the catalog but is a carry over from the July-December Mini and available while supplies last (it is currently on low inventory).

The sentiment is from the Love Cats stamp set also found in the January-April mini and die cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

The first project I shared last night was a coordinating card:

Friendly Gnomes, Fun Fold, Valentines, Stampin' Up!, #JanApril23Mini

The Gnome is stamped and colored the same as in the treat box above.

To make the card, start with a base measuring 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score at 5 1/2″.  Measure 2″ past the score line and cut.  This gives you the top part of the card.  From the piece that was cut off, measure 2″ from the bottom and cut.  This is the bottom piece of the card.

For this card, I used Balmy Blue card stock, Country Gingham Designer Series Paper and Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper.  Cut two strips of Gingham paper 1 3/4″ x 4″.   Attach one to the top of the card base and one to the 2″ strip cut for the bottom.    Attach a 3″ x 3″ piece of the Country Floral Lane small heart paper to the same size Balmy Blue card stock before die-cutting the mushroom from the Gnomes Dies.  Align the 2″ piece of Balmy Blue to the bottom edge of the base card stock before attaching the mushroom – the mushroom attaches the 2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of cardstock to the front of the card.

The hearts are stamped in Real Red ink on a scrap of Basic White and punched with the Country Bouquet Punch.  The punch is currently on back order and will arrive in mid-April – but you could use any small heart punch to add a bit more detail to the front of the card.  The inside of the card is a piece of Basic White measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″.   A sentiment is stamped behind the gnome on the inside.

Here’s the video – the card is shown first and then the treat box.

Please let me know if you have any questions on either project.

Stampin’ Up! added more choices to Sale-A-Bration offerings today – check them out on my website!

A Snail Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day!  What better way to celebrate than by sharing this adorable snail who’s stopping by to say Hi!

Valentine, Snail, Snailed It, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #JanJuneMini2021

Isn’t he so sweet?  This little guy can be found in the Snailed It Suite of the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.  He is stamped in Jet Black Stazon Ink and colored with Watercolor Pencils.

The little hearts are from the same catalog and part of the same suite.  They are the perfect addition to this card.

The sentiment comes from the January Paper Pumpkin Kit – which coordinated with this suite.  If you aren’t a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber and live in North America, I highly recommend it. (More information below).

The stitched trail around the outside of this panel I thought was perfect!  It is made using the Stitched with Whimsy Dies.

The heart paper behind the panel is from the Snail Mail Desginer Series Paper Pack.  I’d say, just get the entire suite, you won’t regret it!

Basic Black and Real Red cardstock complete the card.

So, a little more about Paper Pumpkin – it is a monthly subscription that ships right to your door every month for just $22 + tax. (USA).  The box contains everything you need from stamps, an ink spot, adhesives to the elements needed to complete the project.  The projects can range from cards, 3D items, home decor or treat packaging.   It is a box of creativity that will take between 30-60 minutes to complete.  If you haven’t tried it out, or it has been a while, I recommend giving it a shot.  There is no minimum commitment – you can cancel at any time – or if an upcoming kit isn’t to your liking (I typically provide hints in my newsletter), you can also skip a month.   The March Kit is a card kit and will include stencils and a sponge!  How fun is that!  Sign-up today here!

For The Coffee Lovers

Hi!  Today I have a card for the coffee lovers out there.  One of the first bundles I purchased from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog was the Nothing’s Better Than bundle.  This is such a great bundle and sparks so many ideas.  Coffee, Love, Nothings Better Than, Stampin' Up!, SU!, #2020AnnualCatalog

This would make a great Valentine’s Day card!  The heart background is made using Pool Party Cardstock and the Detailed Hearts die.  The words are die cut from Blushing Bride, Petal Pink, Rococo Rose and Early Espresso Cardstock.   The cup is stamped in Blushing Bride and Early Espresso inks.  The splats are Pool Party.  A layer of Pool Party Designer Series Paper is placed behind the Basic White stamped image panel.  The base of the card is Early Espresso.

I am not a coffee drinker -but I do love chocolate – so for my Valentine’s Day card, I believe I’ll switch it up using the chocolate image in this bundle.  What about you?  Coffee or chocolate lover?

Squirrelly Love

Hi! Today I have the second card I made during this past Tuesday’s Facebook Live featuring the Special Someone Stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.

Isn’t he cute?  Once again I used the Blender Pen to color the squirrel after stamping him with Early Espresso ink.  You’ll note that the squirrel and balloon are die cut – this is because Stampin’ Up! has created a set of dies that will be available on Feb 4 as part of the Coordination release!  LOVE IT!!!

The grass is also one of the dies in the set.  I used Old Olive cardstock for that.

The balloon is stamped in Real Red ink and is 2-step stamping.  I did the full heart first and then the outline as I find it easier to stamp this way.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings set in the Annual catalog.  Inside says Happy Valentine’s Day which was one of the greetings in the January Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Speaking of Paper Pumpkin, did you know that during Sale-A-Bration, 3-, 6-, and 12-month pre-paids subscriptions earn you FREE product?  How awesome is that!  If you are currently a subscriber, consider purchasing a 12-month pre-paid – you will get 1 month of Paper Pumpkin FREE plus 4 Sale-A-Bration level 1 or a combination of Level 1 and Level 2 items!   Not currently a subscriber?  Consider a 3-month pre-paid subscription to try it out!

Here’s the video showing the use of the Blender Pen to color the squirrel:

All products (except the Special Day dies which go live on Feb 4) are available in my On-Line store.

Wild About You Valentine

Hi!  Today I have another Valentine featuring the Animal Outing Bundle.  Yes, I know, I’ve shared others – but this one is so cute, I couldn’t resist!

Valentine, Animal Outing, Stampin' Up!, SU!

How can you resist these adorable images?  Over the weekend, I had decided to do something with a bunch of projects I had started and never finished.  In the pile were a bunch of rhinos, giraffes and trees.  I believe I had planned on using them for thank you cards, but never got to it.  I also had one of these hearts but in a different color from another project and thought – hmm, I think these pieces would make a cute Valentine.

So, here is my final creation.  In the end, I made 13 of these Valentines – 12 of which I sent to a friend.

The sentiment is also from the Animal Outing stamp set.  I used Stampin’ Blends to color the animals.  The heart die cut is from the Sunshine Wishes framelits set – and something I recently pulled out for the first time.  So nice to finally use products that had been sitting unused!

All in all, I am happy with this card and happy to have used up the pieces I had sitting around.  Feeling very accomplished!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  You will find all the products listed below and in my on-line store.  Don’t forget, we are still Sale-A-Brating and a $50 (US, prior to S/H and tax) earns you a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure!

I just love this little treat holder and think it is perfect for anyone!

Valentines, Treat Holder, Envelope Punch Board, Hedgehugs, Stampin' Up!, SU! Stampithop

Line up one side at the 2″ mark on the punch board, punch and score.  Rotate the paper counterclockwise, and line up the score line with the little notch on the punch board to the left of the opening.  Punch and score.  Repeat the rotation and score for the remaining sides -always aligning the score line to the notch.

Here is my video – it is the second project – showing how to make this using the punch board.

Side note – if you liked the first project, you’ll  find details on it here.

The image is stamped from the Hedgehugs Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink.  The sentiment is from the exclusive stamp set in the January Paper Pumpkin and is stamped in Real Red ink.  A little heart is placed over the flower and was punched with the Cookie Cutter Builder punch from Real Red Cardstock.

Animal Love

Hi! As promised, I am back today with a cute Treat Holder featuring the Animal Outing Suite in the Annual Catalog.

Valentine, Animal Outing, Treat Holder. Stampin' Up!, SU!

Is this little file folder not the cutest?  I saw this idea a few years ago by Becky Roberts but hadn’t yet tried it.  So happy I remembered it!  These are very easy to make and can be done quickly.

The File Folder is 3″ x 5″, scored at 2 1/4″ and 2 1/2″ on the 5″ side.   A piece of Designer Series Paper 2 1/4″ x 3″ is also needed.  To see how to turn it into a folder, watch this video – it is the second project shared:

The animals are from the Animal Outing Stamp set and are colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The Rhino and Giraffe were stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and die cut using the coordinating framelits.  Stampin’ Blends were used to color the animals – Smoky Slate both light and dark, Calypso Coral light and Pool Party light were used for the Rhino and bird while Daffodil Delight light and Crumb Cake light were used for the Giraffe.    You can order the stamps and dies as a bundle and save 10%!

Love You Valentine

Hi! Today I am sharing a more masculine Valentine!  I am pretty happy with how this turned out and think it suits my guy pretty well.

Valentine, Masculine, Ombre, Sunshine Wishes, Celebrate You, Stampin' Up!, SU

I shared this card this past week during my Tuesday with Teresa Facebook Live.  The background is created by using a Sponge Brayer and the Basic Gray ink pad on Glossy White Cardstock.  Love the ombre look I achieved.

The rest is straight forward die cuts – the heart and LOVE are dies in the Sunshine Wishes framelits while the YOU is from the Celebrate You die set.

Just realized – no stamping!  Wow!  I just wanted to share that while you may not own a set specific to Valentine’s Day – you probably have products that you can use to make a Valentine’s Day card.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card!

Come back on Saturday – I’ll be sharing a cute treat holder using the Animal Outing suite in the Annual Catalog.
